@ketchup I cannot even imagine what a scary time that must have been for you. So far, his breathing has been okay. He's pouring mucous from every possible place, and his temp is hovering between 100-101 with Tylenol. They didn't tell us a threshold for the fever, but she said to set an alarm and give Tylenol every four hours around the clock. The main things were if he was breathing more than 60 times in a minute, turning blue, having retractions or bobbing his head to go straight to the ER. They did say also to go if he doesn't have a minimum of four wet diapers a day. We go back for another check up tomorrow morning.
Mixing the pedialyte with BM is going to be the next thing I try! Thanks! I haven't been too concerned yet. He's been nursing off and on today and has had plenty of wet diapers.
The adults feel like shit that's been ran over, but it's amazing what you can do as a mom...like stay up all night holding/nursing/rocking your sick baby with a fever yourself. The instinctual need to take care of him first has me amazed. Oh, and DS1 has a double ear infection that isn't responding to antibiotics. 😔

Oh my goodness, so sorry you are going through this. I'm sure you are exhausted. I hope you can get others to help out with any errands or food you need so you can concentrate on DS and you and DH.

Have not read all the responses but fwiw my LO had rsv early last month, she was about 6 months. It was awful! She had this hoarse cry and was sooo congested. And had the worst cough. She did not need to be hospitalized but breathing was pretty labored and she only slept on me (which was rough for me!).
I stayed home from work for over a week. After her rsv swab came back positive (a week into her illness) the Dr warned me that it would probably get worse before it got better. I realize everyone's experience is different but in our case she actually started to get better after about 10 days! I just KOKO with saline, Nose Frida, Vicks and humidifier.
Hugs to you and LO! Hope things start looking better soon.

We got the same warning about it getting worse before better. That's encouraging that your LO got over it in 10 days. They told me 7-21 days. And oh! I didn't think I about Vicks! I have some from DS1. Thanks!

Update: we just got home from the doctor. His o2 was good at 98%. He was having some "distressed breathing", so they have him a breathing treatment. It didn't really help though, which apparently it only helps in some cases of RSV. He does have a double ear infection and both eyes are infected now. So, we got antibiotics and eye drops for those. He now has the flu, RSV, double ear infection and double eye infection.
Oh my goodness karabear4409, that's so much at once! And you are a better woman than I am when sick...When C and I were both really sick last month, I was a mess. Not too many midnight rocking sessions, unless DH was willing to do it.

Thank you! It's been really hard. I should have been at the spa for a massage/facial/hand and foot treatment while drinking mimosas this morning. And DH and I were supposed to go away kid-free for the weekend. I may be a little bitter right now...

After two doses of antibiotics and eye drops, he finally smiled for the first time today! So, he seems to be feeling slightly better from the ear infections. His cough is still terrible though. His temp is staying around 100-101 with Tylenol around the clock. The rest of us are (barely) hanging in there. Thanks for asking!
He looks a lot better, because his eyes aren't pouring goop this morning. His cough is a little worse today, though. We went ahead and cancelled our weekend away. 😔Thanks for checking!

Thank you so much everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It's very much appreciated right now.
We just got back from the doctor again. He started wheezing this morning. The doctor confirmed he is wheezing and has bronciolitis. He said we can try another breathing treatment at home. It may or may not help. Otherwise, we need to KOKO for now. If he starts having retractions, they will admit him in the hospital.
