Morning. Still sick-ish here, it's moved to my sinuses and all my teeth hurt. I'm so bitter about this.
Just dropped B at preschool, it's transportation week so he's excited. I'm getting coffee and a donut at Dunkin and then we have C's 2-month check up (rather belatedly) at 10. We were supposed to go last week but there was a screw-up with our insurance and C wasn't showing up in the system.
This afternoon I have an appt to have my highlights...ahem...toned again. I am very much a blonde right now (compared to my natural color, I mean) and let me just say I don't think it's my best look. My stylist got married and moved so I had to go to someone else and apparently we have different definitions of 'caramel' 🤦🏻♀️ I lived with it through the weekend but decided I can't do 6 weeks like this.
Boss just made a lunch appointment at another branch. Totally sleeping on my lunch.
I used to do this. I worked in downtown ATL and parked in an underground garage so it was nice and dark. Until one day I looked up and one of my firm's partners was getting into his car and glanced into my window, and saw me lying under my coat on the backseat. I think that was the last of my lunchtime naps.

Bragg's ACV is the popular kind "with the mother" which is the junky stuff that floats around. I've used it as a toner on my face even. Just be forewarned, it can clean out your system...So don't be surprised if you have to go to the bathroom a lot.

Coffee break at Safeway mid shopping trip.I should hurry up and get out of here before I run into someone from my office since it's the one near my work and I look like death. I may swing by the office before pickup if I can get a shower in to show off N, who is 2 months old today!
Morning! H is at preschool and I'm home waiting for stores to open. It's annoying that nothing opens till 10. Baby O is being extubated this morning and the ENT that did his surgery is checking on his progress while he's under. Fingers crossed this did the trick. We are in a winter storm warning, they are predicting like 6in of snow over the course of today into tomorrow morning. No snow yet though.
C's 2 month check-up stats: 14 lbs, 7 oz and 26" long, lol.
She did great with the two shots--cried for maybe a half-second--but spit most of the oral vaccine out and then threw up all over herself and the nurse. Sorry, Nurse.
I actually don't mind vinegar, I like it on my steamed spinach, so I think I could probably drink it just fine. I don't normally buy ACV though, I usually have whatever the clear one is, since that's what I use in our carpet shampooer.
I'll look for organic/unfiltered. Thanks!
Isn't ACV also supposed to help speed up your metabolism? Two for one kind of deal? Or am I making that up?
I love vinegar as well, but it's a lot more potent when you take it as a shot 😜 and I've heard that about the metabolism as well, not sure how much science backs it up though.
There was at least one study that showed people who consumed 2 Tbsp in an 8 oz glass of water daily (seriously, dilute that stuff. It can burn/scar your esophagus if you don't) lost about 5 pounds in 12 weeks. They didn't change anything else about their diet. It specifically targeted abdominal fat.
But the study was funded by a vinegar company...
I take it because I figure can't hurt, might help. It's tolerable if you drink it in water or use it in dressings.
Pedi thinks we are dealing with both norovirus and lactose intolerance. So today I get to head to Quest and get supplies for a stool sample so they can run some tests. And we are switching to elemental formula.
Because who doesn't want to spend $600/month on formula, right?
We're Going on a Bear Hunt has an animated adaptation on Amazon Prime. It takes a lot of liberties. The middle daughter finds the bear first, befriends and takes care of him. Then her family finds her with him, grabs her and runs back to the house. Josie is now HYSTERICAL bc Rosie (the middle daughter) misses the bear and the bear is lonely and sad. I'm broken-hearted for my little sensitive soul.
Awww, sounds like Colin. He got so worked up last night over a rooster being left alone in one of his books that he was near tears. I had to keep reminding him that he went home after his friends left and he was fine. He gets that way about sad parts of shows too, he can't mentally get past them even when the situation's been resolved. It's sweet but it breaks my heart.

I got into the office late today, about 1.5 hour ago as I was w C this morning. In other news, all the hardness seems to be gone from my boobs. So here we are - officially weaned!

I've been to weak/sick to fight off Jack so we are not.. Hoping it'll keep him healthy while we all battle this though. I'll wean in a few weeks I guess..
Yea, now that C has pink eye, I'm all "doh- shouldn't have weaned yet!". 😝
@goldi, Charlie uses Alementium. He couldn't have regular milk based formula bc it caused excessive bms and blood in his stool. His formula is covered by our insurance. Is that an option for you?
He was on Alimentum, but it caused him to spit up a lot. So she has us trying Alfamino because it's more broken down. Dude was on Neocate, and our insurance didn't cover it. I'll have to check to see if anything has changed with their benefits/coverage in the last few years.

I take it every day because, fat.
My stomach is a little flatter since I've been drinking it, but I'm also eating hardly any processed foods, so...
cagoldi, I didn't realize the insurance companies could pick and choose which formulas they would cover. That's terrible. I hope X's is covered and that he feels better soon!
It wasn't based on the formula variety itself. If anything, Neocate would be more likely to be covered because the elementals are prescription and technically considered "medical food," like enteral nutrition is. IIRC, they wanted him to have had a scope, stool cultures, all kinds of things/procedures I would need to establish medical necessity. Dude hadn't ever been scoped and I didn't feel like I wanted to subject him to that.
I'm getting ads for apple cider vinegar thru Tapatalk. I did not google it or anything.
It's super creepy how the internet works haha. Sunny's company actually does stuff like this. Once I was on a group text with friends and talking about a certain baby product. The next time I went on FB, there was an ad for it. I never googled it, just had it in a text. Apparently if you are connected to wifi they can track that and give you ads for what you talk about 😱
Whoa, I didn't realize they could do that kind of thing via text msgs!
