My turn to join the sick list. I woke today feeling totally nauseated. Not sure what that's about. I didn't have the stomach for breakfast and am just going back and forth btwn thinking I might throw up or not. I would've stayed home w C anyhow seeing as his pink eye is still bothering him. He's been mostly asleep this morning, but only wants to sleep in my arms.
I am no better, if anything, worse. I now have crazy congestion. I was awake from 2:15 til at least 4. My alarm went off at 5:30. I wanted to stay in bed so bad. I'm going to try to get some things done, then hopefully leave early and go get some rest.
For those that have or currently have this, have you gone to the doctor? I don't want to waste $$ on a copay for them to tell me it's viral and I have to wait it out, but fuck, I just want to sleep!
I'm finally starting to emerge from the fog, so to speak, on day 12. DH came down with it Friday and is still pretty sick. He went to the doctor Monday and they said it's a viral upper respiratory infection, so there's really not much you can do but treat the symptoms and wait it out. They recommended Mucinex and Delsym (for the cough).
Mine moved into my sinuses over the weekend and I went to the pharmacy; pharmacist recommended maximum strength Sudafed, plus my pain reliever of choice for the headache and ear pain. (Apparently with Sudafed Cold and Flu and other compounds, the active ingredient is cut in half. DNW.)
I'm sorry you're still sick. This is truly the most miserable I've ever been for such a long period of time.
You guys. What should I do?? H is doing worse. He woke up coughing so hard it was like he was foaming at the mouth. I nose Frida-ed him and it came out yellow/brownish. He seems lethargic this morning. But he doesn't have a fever. I just called daycare and they've had 2 rsv and 1 pneumonia case in the past week. I just texted his doctor too but I'm freaking out. Wtaf do I do about this in Mexico??
slenle I'm so sorry, that stinks that this is happening while y'all are out of the country. I agree with others, see if the resort concierge can help. Hope he feels better asap and it's nothing major.
I hate anything to do with nasal...sprays make me feel like I'm choking.
But I'm willing to try anything at this point! Sounds like I'll be spending a fortune at the drug store on the way home!
and the dipshit who sits across the hall from me just came in and asked me if I have a cold. I told him I feel like death and he laughed. I hope he catches this next.
Don't worry it's not a spray, its more like a gel. I hope you feel better soon....and that your jackass coworker gets it next.
Morning. Hugs to all the sick moms and kids. As I mentioned earlier, I am finally starting to feel almost normal again.
No big plans today, I'm going to hit the tile store to hopefully order our backsplash materials, and take the kiddos to visit my parents. My dad hasn't seen them since Saturday and texted to say he needs a 'fix', lol.
Thanks guys. His dr texted back saying to keep doing what we're doing unless he develops a fever, labored breathing or loses his appetite. He's asleep on me now so we'll see what he's like when he wakes up.
Morning! I live in a snow globe. It's still lightly snowing but I think it's only supposed to last the morning. We won't be leaving the house unless we have to. This weather makes me want soup so I'm going to try the zuppa toscana recipe today, I'm hoping it's just like olive garden's.
Those colds sound terrible. I hope everyone that is sick is feeling better quickly.

Hi! We're back home. I unpacked last night, cleaning lady is in my house now and I'm at the gym and running all the errands before pickup. Trying to get us all on a normal schedule.
I'm going with my parents and T to see my brother for the first time in 9 months. First time I've seen him sober in a really long time. I'm having lots of feelings about this.
Oh no slenle! Does your health insurance have a nurse line you can contact?
This. I used to manage our international line for notifications. If there is an onsite doctor or a doctor/clinic in town you should go ahead and go. If you aren't sure how to locate providers, you can calm your insurance. You're going to have to pay OOP. Keep your receipts and ask for copies of everything in English if you plan on submitting a claim for reimbursement.

Tell us everything!
It was so great. We went to so many amazing places, ate a few Michelin rated restaurants, had tea, did some amazing shopping. I paid a ridiculous amount in customs though yesterday. I'm pretty bitter about that.

I'm at work. It's been really busy so far. I'm tired. I couldn't sleep and then BOTH kids woke up having wet the bed/peed out of the diaper. I have the rehearsal for my bridezilla sister tonight.
guster - Chase has already been to DH's barber twice. We've been bringing Col there since he turned 1 and they are great with babies. If I didn't have a place I trusted, I'd go the route of a kids' salon.

guster, I would go to a kids salon. They usually have regular chairs as well, so they may just have you sit with him on your lap. They are really quick since they are used to working with children who don't want to sit still.
Home with L today. Did some job searching this morning while Netflix parented. Now at the library for storytime. Not sure what we will do for entertainment this afternoon.
Talk to me about boys' haircuts: I trim Josie's bangs on the regular. But she hasn't had a real cut. Charlie, however, is in desperate need as his hair is growing out and not down. Do I go to a kids salon? Do I bring him to my stylist? My husband's barber? He's 10 months old, he is not going to sit still for this, right?
We took B to a children's salon when he was about 11 months old for his first cut, so that is probably what I'd do. They are prepared to deal with little children wiggling, crying, etc. B cried a bit at his first cut, but calmed down and was fine...the stylist blew bubbles, put a video on for him, etc.
I feel like a barber could be hit or miss with such a young child. B does great during haircuts and in another couple years, I'll be fine sending him to a regular barber with my H, but I think a lot of barbers probably would not want to deal with really young kids.
I was loving all of your vacay snaps Cherhorowitz.... and super jealous of the way you traveled!
guster I'm not even sure we have a kids salon... so I've never taken Gunner to one. He screamed the last time I took him about 6 months ago so I was trying to hold him down and hold the baby. Meanwhile the other girl working there was just standing there watching. I wanted to be like, um hi can you hold my baby so I can deal with this??!!
I hope you guys have a good visit tjhine... and I hope your brother is doing well!
He woke up from his nap with a temp of 101.7. We gave him more Tylenol and went to breakfast he perked up and ate quite a bit which makes me feel a bit better. The onsite doctor gets here in about an hour so we'll probably take him in just to be safe. He's actually playing with toys and with N which is nice instead of him clinging to me.
I've got nothing planned today so I think we might head to the movies. 'Stars and Strollers' at the theatre has La La Land playing.
I could spend the afternoon with Ryan, swoon.
That sounds delightful. I wish our local theaters had something like that. I mean, I could just go with C and she'd probably be fine, but it's cool that babies are welcomed/encouraged specifically.
