B is also hit or miss w her clothes. Picking them out at night w her seemed to really help but then today she went crazy about the leggings that SHE requested last night sooooo.
@goldi, we're having some issues at preschool regarding Josie's "strong will." I'm looking for a few more resources to help her out. I know you've mentioned nurture shock before. Was it just helpful for children in general or for A's personality?
Children in general.
The best one I've read for Dude so far is Raising Your Spirited Child.

vinolove, you can get your 3 BBM's in! I did it this morning and only did the first warm up and skipped all the cool downs (I was going to do the last one, but L woke up). It went pretty quickly!
@lizb, what?!? How horrible! Thank you for the warning. I'll stick to the Oreos.
He got one in an Easter egg this past spring at an egg hunt a friend hosted. On our way home, he was messing with it, and somehow the end cap came off and the stuff started leaking out. Of course it got on his hands and he wiped his eyes before we could stop him/get his hands clean. Luckily we were only a couple minutes from the house b/c he was screaming from the pain. And then I felt like I was water boarding him trying to get it out of his eyes.
It was traumatic for all involved! So after that...I am very anti glow-stick, lol.
re: dressing. M let's me pick out his clothes. The boys loves pajamas, so sometimes he wants to keep them on all day on the weekends. The only time he may protest is if I try to put him in jeans when we are going somewhere on the weekend. He likes soft pants.
re: medicine. M never had an issue with the syringe, but he likes the cups now. I give him the cup and he takes half, chugs water, then takes the other half and chugs more water.

Morning.
It's my day off so I'm at home enjoying the peace. I picked up stuff to make creamy chicken noodle soup, so that will be on the stove later. Not much else going on except cleaning and purging... hopefully. Time to get my butt off the couch and start on something.
Lilac26 confession--when I actually wear shoes with laces I tie them the little kid way. Confession 2: I am avoiding buying shoes with laces for the kids for a long time.
I do it a similar way than in the video but that I think is even easier. Start out the regular way with crossing and tying, but then instead of making just one loop and going around with the other lace, make two loops and cross and tie again.
That's how I do it! I've never met anyone who has done it my way before!

Afternoon. We had N's month appointment and she did great. She is a string bean and handled her shots like a champ. Hoping she isn't too fussy tonight or tomorrow, but need to go get some infant Tylenol.
Not much else here. My mom came over last night and made us dinner, so that was nice. I kind of skipped lunch yesterday and then was nauseous, turns out I was hungry..Guess I should eat a real lunch now.

Mmm that soup sounds good. I'm making chicken and dumplings tonight...when it gets cold, I want comfort food.
I have a recipe for King Ranch chicken soup via Southern Living that I also want to try. We just have not had enough chilly weather to justify all the 'hearty' dishes I want to make.

I'm the same LizInFL. It will be chilly this weekend so soup it is! I haven't made this one in a while and it's my favorite. I'll have to look up that king ranch soup. Sounds good. I think I have made a king ranch chicken casserole before and it came out good, but I never made it again. I think it just took up time. I need to find an easier one to make.

M's school never has holiday parties or exchanges, but a few parents- me included- send things on certain holidays. I'll probably take the easy way out on valentines because I'm not up for being crafty lately. Next time I'm in Target, I'll be picking up a box of valentines and fruit snacks or something similar.
Awesome news, wedding!! I'm so glad, C deserves a place where he's happy and engaged. I really believe that trusting your gut here is the right thing here.

Awesome news wedding! Amazing that they can't get him in on Monday!
I asked and they don't do a Valentine's day party and the teacher said that if anyone does Valentine's, to just put them on top of cubbies unofficially. I guess I am off the hook? Didn't sound like we should do them.
B's preschool did a Valentine's Day party last year so I imagine this year will be the same. They had the kids decorate shoeboxes for their valentines to be delivered to. Not sure what his teacher is planning this year but she gets really into holidays so I'm sure it will be cute.
They also do a 1950s style "sock hop" a few days before with all the classes combined...they encourage the kids to dress in poodle skirts, jeans/leather jackets, etc. They have a dance party and make coke floats--it's adorable.
New preschool seems perfect. He starts Monday! I am more than happy to lose my two weeks deposit but I may fight it a little to see if I get some back. Especially since he was running loose in the hall unsupervised when I picked him up last night.
Um, what?? Why was no one watching me?
ETA: him, not me. I don't need people watching me.

I just realized C won't be at daycare for Valentines Day and will miss the party. Wonder if we should still send in valentine's the week before. I'm irrationally super sad he's missing it!
Morning! Nothing much planned here today. L comes in to our room multiple times a night. We let him snuggle for a minute but then send him back. You'd think he'd get the message but it's the same every night. By 5 am we just let him stay.
get him the OK to Wake clock! He will know when it is ok to come out of bed. You will love it!
So, we have one. And when he was really bad had it set to 2 a.m. Because I didnt think he would make it all night. Then moved to 5 ish. And sometimes it works. He'll actually carry it into our room glowing. And of course that's all fine.
But here is the stupid question what if it comes on and he sleeps through it? Because this is happened and since it's still dark in winter I don't think he gets that's he actually slept to the morning (6:30ish)
I got them at hobby lobby last week for $2. Normally I'm not this ahead of the game but I walked past and just grabbed one.
I saw these at Target. We got Spider-Man. They had suckers that came with them. I didn't expect to be able to get them because most of those candies have gelatin, but they were compliant. I was happy I didn't have to tell Dude we had to pick something else.
