Because I need somewhere to talk about some random things!
I awoke this morning to a text that my childhood home had caught fire over night. Three alarms. Total loss. I moved from there 9 years ago and parents sold it ~5 years ago. It had been in the family for a long time. Gone. Just like that. So sad to see the video footage on the news. People were jumping out of second-story windows to escape, but everybody got out OK. A piece of my childhood just died. I'm so sad. Everybody in that area knew that was our house.

mrswillie, I'm so sorry about the house I was in the same home until I was 19, and I still feel really connected to it. When I have dreams about "home", it's that house. We got a call that it was on fire seven years ago and I remember my sister and I were devastated. It turns out it was the next door neighbor's garage in the back, and I was so relieved when it was ok. I'm glad everyone is safe, but it's still such a sad loss for your family.
mrsrodgersaz your limb is correct, but there's the Colts/Pats rivalry. We hate each other. More so when they had Manning, but still....
FWIW, I'm not against the Packers. We somehow acquired a cheesehead and I sent a pic of DS1 wearing it to co-workers a few years ago when they beat the Ravens.

I'm so excited for tonight. I'm meeting a local mom from my BMB and we're going to a theater that has alcohol and watching Sing. We both need something lighthearted. Drinks AND adult time!
Add me to the anti-Pats train...I think if Belichick wasn't such a jerk and Brady wasn't so nauseatingly "perfect" with his high and mighty super model wife, I could be happy that NE has such a great dynasty. But I find them all too annoying! The fan base seems great and nice, but I'm rooting Falcons.

My kid just took her lunch plate, turned it upside down, dumped it all over the table, took the small cup of water I'd given her to practice drinking out of an open cup and poured it all over the food, then started mushing it all around and throwing it everywhere.

That is all I got at the moment.
Why, BabyRainbow, WHY?!
I showed her the gif and she pointed at it and laughed.
mrswillie I am so sorry to hear about your childhood home. That's so sad, but I'm also happy that everyone made it out ok. Also, as I am now an Atlanta area resident, I will not be cheering on the pats.
Tomorrow DS1 has the pinewood derby for cub scouts. My husband (an engineer) is convinced he's going to crush the competition. I hear it's basically hours of sitting around and waiting. I am less than thrilled.
I'm getting my hair dyed purple right this moment. I'm soooo excited!!
Bad news.
Noo! I was about to come in here and comment "legit jelly" or something equally silly yet true.
rainbowbridge14 You have all my sorries. I think M and WF are texting again or something, because...
All the Pats haters can join me. I fully own up to not actually caring about football, but when an Atlanta team is in play for X sport, I'm usually like, "Woo! Sure, why not!"
My parents are up this weekend and we're going to attempt the natural history museum tomorrow with WF. Should be an adventure.

TJ oh no, I'm so sorry. What color was your hair before? My sister dyed a streak purple, and her stylist had to bleach her hair and then dye it. She is a brunette. Did your stylist do that?
