Morning! Dh left early this morning so I'm in charge of getting both kids up and ready. We are ready surprisingly early and need to be out of the door in 15 minutes. We should probably get moving now because not matter when we leave, we always seem to be late.
And I am not looking forward to going back to work. Boo.
Morning! DH left for the west coast this morning, so it's just me and the kiddos this week. Send wine. (Eh, let's be real...I'll be at my parents'...)
B seems to be doing a bit better today; he asked for breakfast so that's a good sign. C is just her usual happy, laid back self. We joke that she thrives on benign neglect. I'm exaggerating (sort of) but sometimes I feel guilty that my attention has been spread so thin since she was born.

Hi everyone! MH and I are under the weather with a stomach bug, so he's home. My in-laws took the kids for a bit. As crazy as they are, I'm so grateful for the help they give us!

Good morning everyone - I hope C has a great day wedding! wineallthetime, I hope you all are not experiencing the stomach bug that just ripped through our house. Man, that was a doozy. GL with PT guster.

Morning was wild for me. MH now has the stomach bug that I had last week. I am trying to be sympathetic but also rolling my eyes a bit as he is total 'man flu' about it. So it was all on me to get the kids ready and out the door this morning, amidst B's tantrum over wearing jeans, then another tantrum about boogers to C pooping in his diaper the second before I'm about to wrangle everyone and their back-packs out the door. You know - typical mom stuff. Sitting at work now, enjoying my grande mocha in peace.
@peachsmama I also have had to snip pieces of C's hair with manicure scissors (over the ears in particular). It makes me a nervous wreck! God bless professional hairdressers who work on children. Good luck tonight!
This morning was a little rough getting Caroline to school, and I have to drive her in because she couldn't stop sobbing. I think she was just a little tired because DH kept her up until I got home at 8:20pm, and didn't fall asleep until closer to 9.
I have to work tonight, so that usually means a low-key day for us. Fingers crossed H lets me get a cat nap in!
Morning. I am tired and so emotionally exhausted right now. How am I going to make it through the next 4 years when a freaking WEEK has aged me already?
Anyhow I forgot to mention yesterday that DH forgot to put Col in a pull-up for nap, and he somehow stayed dry. He went at 10am and held it until 4pm, as you do. He can't be the only kid who has started holding for HOURS rather than use the potty? He fights us when we bring it up (but goes immediately when forced) and I'm not sure what to do.
And OMG, if Chase doesn't wake up with another tooth or 2 in the next couple of days, I give up at life. He is so damn grumpy. Colin has been so incredibly patient and never complains about it. I hope that lasts!
Morning. The slumber party went well, my sister has picked up B and it's just us girls now. S is sick, she woke up with a 104.7 fever. I'm messaging with the pedi to see if he wants me to bring her in. She isn't having any other symptoms so I'm wondering if it could be another ear infection. Mil is picking up H in about 45 minutes to take her to the library for story time.

I'm at the gym. Then we're going into the city for lunch and a museum. I really hope my kid acts right and doesn't demand to be carried. Walking all over the city is tiring for him.

Will he sit in a stroller? My DD just loves to be carried- not necessarily bc she is tired but more so bc she just likes being held or having that feeling of security. Thankfully, she is agreeable to a stroller ride bc my flimsy arms cannot manage.

He will but most places in the city aren't very stroller-friendly.
Sorry about your fight with your Dad, @peachsmama. I'm afraid to see my parents this weekend. They didn't vote for Trump but they were in the "they're both equally bad" camp. And I get it, Trump's presidency isn't any different for them than Hillary's would have been. But GDI, consider someone besides yourself every now and then. I don't get how they act so buddy-buddy to my hometown friends - a group that spans multiple races, religions, and disabilities plus most of them are in public education - yet think so narrowly. It's so incredibly disappointing.
wedding that's amazing. I'm sure that just reaffirms that you made the right choice for C. So glad he's doing well!
@peachsmama , 1) I can't believe someone threatened to sue from getting hit by their own kid. That's absurd! 2) I was going to suggest the kids place like chrisy01 did. S loves getting his haircut, but when he was younger we used to go to those places and they had dozens of movies to choose from and fire trucks and all sorts of cool stuff. Does he respond well to bribes? Can you tell him if he sits still he will get toy, ice cream, etc. (insert cool thing here)
I am debating moving S to a different school. He's SOOO happy at his school, and, quite the opposite problem that wedding had, he is so loved. But the school is very disorganized, and I don't think he's really getting a great education there. Plus a few of his favorite teachers have left recently and it seems like a few more might be going. I have spoken with one about it and she said the teachers just aren't being treated well or paid well and those that stay just do it b/c they love the kids so much.
I LOVE the baby room teacher so I wouldn't move till B hits 1 year, but it's something I'm thinking about.
Like vinolove, I don't want S to move with out his besties. He has 3 boys he's been with forever. 1 left in June to go to the JCC which is the best in our area. But it comes with a very high price tag and tons of days off. The other 2 are still at his school. I wouldn't want to move without them. I've talked to the moms and only one is really thinking about leaving (for all the same reasons I have). There are 2 other very good options in the area I am considering, + the JCC.
Wow. That became a DD. TL/DR I'm thinking of moving S & B to a new DC/Preschool but can't make up my mind.
I have been messaging with the pedi office and I'm going to have her seen today if the nurse ever gets back to me with a time. I'm not sure if her doctor is in or if we will see one of his partners.
trtlcrzy That's a really high fever. I'd give Tylenol and ibuprofen at the same time and take her to urgent care or ER if that doesn't knock it down. Poor baby.
Hope everyone in your house is feeling better soon, wineallthetime.
Great report, wedding!!! Glad he's off to such a good start!

73jewels, we are sort of in the same boat w B's DC too. Mh really wants to move her to a pre-k w a better kindergarten prep program. Our current place just seems disorganized as well. There also seems to be a lot of teacher turn over. I'm not sure what I want to do.
cagoldi Sorry to hear about X, but glad your shoulder is feeling better. Do you know what you did to aggravate it? I did something to mine late in Dec and it took a week or two to feel normal again. It was so weird, no clue what I did. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Back from the doctor and S has another double EI. I am so mad at DH's HR for not getting our insurance straightened out yet. She was supposed to have gotten tubes last week and if she had we wouldn't be dealing with this.
