Ds' s lovely didn't come home from the ymca last night. I tore the house and car apart and went back to the y and looked. It seems to have evaporated into thin air. Luckily we have a back up. I'm headed to joanns to buy the last remaining 2 yards of fabric in the area to make another one.
I can't shut off the feeling that it's SOMEWHERE and I need to find it. II'm going crazy.
H sleeping in the middle of the bed on a diagonal so that his feet were touching me + W curled up in a ball and kneeing me in the ribs + no couch being comfortable = Linny "sleeping" on a crib mattress on the floor.
I cried this morning because I'm so tired and haven't slept in a bed in months. I have to break the habit of putting W in our bed when she wakes up, but OMG my eyes feel like they're boiling because I'm so tired and she fights the crib MOTN for HOURS. It's been 2 years since I've slept through the night other than the 8 or 9 times W has done so in the past 20 months.
Also screw you, H for telling me I was kicking you and annoying last night. I had literally 8 inches of mattress and was trying to get you to move over. If you knew I was trying to move you then you should have moved rather than ignore me.
hotcoconuts82, A lost lovey is my worst fear. W is so attached to her "soft kitty" it would end our world if she didn't have her. I searched for months for a second and finally found one when I saw how obsessed she was with it.
We've had issues with Soft Kitty falling out of the car when we get W in and out. Maybe the lovey is in the parking lot?
I solidified all my kid's birthday parties last night which was a huge relief since deposits are due early. April, May, and August kids.
Quentin is having a laser tag party at this place called "Hard Knocks" which is really extreme military style tag. Lydia is having a Magic Mountain party with go-karts and bumper cars. Eli is having a Pea Pod Play Cafe party.
linny12 - Wowzer. I'm so sorry! Can the crib be moved into your room temporarily so it alleviates your child's anxiety and you get rest?
I hadn't thought of that, tbh. She just hates her crib, she always has. And wants to be held/touched 24/7. So I think it'd just make her angry that she can see us but not be in the bed with us.
She goes down at bedtime like a champ. I read, we say prayers, then I put her in the crib and she waves to me and is fine for 1-3 hours and then the screaming starts and I have to choose between rocking/Ferberizing for the next 3 hours or putting her in the bed with us. I get up for work at 4:30 so at 1am I almost always pick putting her in the bed. Come July we'll have the new baby in our room too.
I just need to be strong enough to train her, but years of broken sleep, pregnancy, and it being the MOTN makes for very little willpower on my part. I've created a nightmare for myself. Then again, her first night after birth was so bad that a nurse quit her job, so maybe it's not all my fault.

I drove through the parking lot again this morning. No blankie but I did buy the last 2 yards of fabric, which is enough to make 4 blankies. I'm sad because that was the og blankie we lost. I can't believe blankie survived disney world but couldn't make it back from swimming lessons.

linny12 I feel for you so so much. I cannot fathom what it is like to be in your position. I will say though that I am a firm believer in sleep training. It is so hard to do but so worth it. Also maybe talk to her pedi about it? That is my quasi advice. 😕

Oh I am too. Before sleep trying bedtime was like 2-3 hours long. I just lack the willpower now because I'm so worn down and she is one of the most strong willed kids I've ever seen.
Her pedi told me to put her in the crib and then go somewhere I can't hear her, which isn't possible in our house. I did learn she cries til she throws up during our first round of sleep training. Fun.

I'm sorry. That really sucks. I wish I could help. I literally cannot imagine getting so little sleep for so long and I am an insomniac.
marygracerich, mine likes to put stickers on my face and laugh hysterically. She also thinks playing fetch with the dog is the best thing every and will laugh for an hour.
Is anyone else's kid close to maxing out the height or weight limits for RF in their carseat? I want C to RF as long as possible but now I am worried that the limits wont take him to, or much past the 2yr mark. The upper weight limit is 40lbs and C was 35lbs at the end of Nov. Ugh. He is also getting taller and coming very close to only having the 1" space from the top of his head to the top of the seat.

Could you get a seat that is longer lasting RF and then keep the one you have to pass to the new baby once she outgrows your infant seat?
GUISE!!! This has been the craziest day at work and 2017 has been so weird with my company. The cranky manager that likes to give everyone a hard time for breathing IS LEAVING! She got a job at a credit union. I haven't wrapped my head around this completely, but....I.....what a day.

Eli is 37" tall and 36 pounds, so yes.
Have you turned him FF yet, or are you waiting until the last possible moment? I want to do the safest thing and I am stressing a bit over weather turning him around right when he hits one of the limits is best, because RF is the safest. OR, if I should turn him a couple pounds or inch and a bit shy of the limits because I know he will be well within the FF limits.

This is exactly what I want to do but I have been fighting my H on it. He wants to wait until Black friday deals are on to get another convertible car seat for the baby. I can understand this because he wants to be able to get a better one than we could currently afford.
He also listens to all his coworkers who think FF is better because the kid is happier *eyeroll*. We have a small car now and it is a challenge to get C in and out, so there's that benefit in his head too. He knows 2yrs is the recommendation so he feels like as long as we make that or close to it, then it's good enough.
FWIW this is the one and only thing my H has ever given me pushback on when it comes to safety. Of course it is one of the most important though. Sigh.

I would probably pull out all of the studies showing that extended rear facing (well past 2) is so much safer and give them to MH to read. You can remind him that the laws are well behind the science. Do you guys have BRU there? I know here they do trade-in discounts a couple times a year. No judgement, you guys do whatever works obvs, but car seat safety is kind of my personal hill so there is no way I would agree to flipping M until much closer to 4.

We have an argument every time it comes up because I so badly want C to RF as long as possible. With life being so crazy recently I have said my piece and asked to move on because it wasnt an immediate issue. Now that C is closing in on the limits though I do think I should start pushing it. He is just too trusting of current laws (Here it is only 1yr but recommended until 2) and the manufacturers limits. He keeps referring to the manual when we argue and I lose my mind. "Kids are all different sizes1!1!1!!1!!! We just have a giant!"
BRU doesn't do trade-in events in Canada, unfortunately. I think I will just sign up for every email alert for carseat sales now though. I understand him wanting to get a deal but these things dont just happen on black friday. Its not like we wont NEED the second seat.

There is currently a trade-in event going on right now until Feb 20th. If you have a BRU credit card then it is 30% off, otherwise it is 25%. You don't have to trade in a car seat to get one, you just have to trade in something that qualifies (we picked up somebody's old stroller that was on the side of the road and used that). Amazon also occasionally has some good deals outside of their Black Friday deals.
