How is school going? Any particular challenges you would like discussed another week?
School is good. Would like to discuss bad influences (other kids) and school ages.
How does your kid do at dropoff? Have they always been that way? Better or worse as they get older? Anyone taking a bus? E has been totally fine and happy at drop off since her first day of preschool. Happy as can be and without a single tear, backwards glance, or wave. **sob!** Bus isn't an option yet, but the bus picks up and drops off directly in front of my house, so I'm tempted for next year. Curious if anyone here has done it.
I will try to take it over and do this once a week. If I forget, I won't be hurt if someone else does it.
DS1 is 6 (7 in April) and is in 1st grade. DS2 is 3 (4 in May) and in 3s preschool.
DS1 absolutely loves school. He's super bright and super social. His teacher loves him (she's sent me multiple emails about it) and he loves her. They just click. We're actually having her family over for dinner in a few weeks because we get along well and she's been so great to DS1.
DS2 is really starting to like school. He needed time to adjust. He would cry at drop off but then be fine. Now he goes with a smile. He thinks he's much older than his 3 years and wants to go to DS1's school, so he was not thrilled to be in preschool.
DS1 rides the bus. My DH often drives him in the mornings because he drives right by the school and it gives us a few extra minutes (the bus comes at 7am, it's brutal). He loves the bus. He trades Pokémon cards and chats away. He's often sad to get off the bus.
DD is 3.5 loves school but never says one word about what she does there. However she did call me an Ass one day which is not a word we use in our house (if we name call it's always way worse;) ) and I asked her where she heard it and she told me a kid called her that. Biggest issue at the moment is an intermittent distended stomach which partially can be explained by SIBO. She's taking probiotics for it. Also not having her Elsa dress washed at all times is a federal offense. She started ballet/tap a couple of weeks ago and loves it especially the shoes she carries them around everywhere. My mother lets her tap on her wood floor in her room so basically she rarely leaves that room or needs to be carried to carpet which we have hardly any. Drop off has never been an issue she says bye and goes. She doesn't take the bus as there isn't one but won't anyways when kindergarten starts as we don't think it's safe due to many drivers getting written up here.

When she first started it was a rough drop off. DH does drop off, So I didn't really have to deal with it. She would cry and cling to his leg. The teacher would have to come and hold her until he left. She is so much better now. They have a routine of hanging up her things, checking her in, and hugs.
When she is in kindergarten in the fall she will have to go to daycare in the morning and they will bus her in. She will take the school bus home and I will pick her up from the bus stop.
Who goes here? Kids age(s)? Grade? Dd is 4.5 and DS is 3. They are in the 3s and 2s respectively. Dd is in Montessori and dd will join her there next year.
How is school going? Any particular challenges you would like discussed another week? They both have always loved school. Dd has a hard time with the fact that it is every day. She is great once we get into the car, but she wants more leisure time in her mornings. How does your kid do at dropoff? Have they always been that way? Better or worse as they get older? Anyone taking a bus? They are both very happy at pick up and drop off. No buses until kinder... and even then, I'll still have preschool drop offs to the same school, so I'm not sure we will use it.
