My ILs are coming today (booooo) so I got Fractured Prune donuts this morning to make this day seem somewhat worthwhile. I've also told H to tell his parent that I do not want my belly touched. I don't like to be felt up and more than likely baby will be sleeping anyway.
For now H and DS are pushing trucks around and it's really cute.

Nothing exciting going on this weekend. We actually haven't even discussed what we're doing at all, which is rare. I assume we'll probably try to get a little more work done on the nursery but that's about it. DD told me this morning that she wants earrings. She is too young to understand all that getting your ears pierced entails and I have a feeling after the first one, she would freak out and not let them do the second one. I'm hoping she forgets about this want soon. But one of her little friends at preschool just had her ears pierced so DD is likely not to forget.
Oh, donuts sound really good! I might grab one on the way to the office from my clients house. Good luck not getting felt up by your ILs lupincat, I can't stand people just feeling like a pregnant woman can be touched.
We don't have anything going on tonight, might just watch a movie and eat some buffalo chicken sandwhiches. I'm probably going to work on some photo books on Shutterfly. Actually I really should finish up DD's baby book, there's not too much left to do except put in some pictures, and write about her 1st birthday. Otherwise it's mostly filled out.
We're going to our neighbors for a game night. We've never played games with them before so I'm interested to see how it goes. DH and I are big board gamers so I'm trying to set my expectations low.

Headed to yoga in a bit. No big plans today. I'd like to clean/organize, but that'll mostly depend on what DS lets me do. I need to finish our grocery list too.
sleepymonkey, DD1 has been asking for pierced ears for a while now. DH and I agreed that she can have them done for second grade. I keep trying to scare her with the whole "they have to shove a needle through your ear" but she still keeps asking. some pediatricians will also do them or I would ask locally for a recommendation for a good piercing place for younger kids

I don't know if you know this or not but some hair dressers are able to pierce ears...
sleepymonkey If you feel she's too young for an actual piercing, maybe you could try looking at Claire's or something for those clip-on or magnetic ones? Assuming, of course, she could be trusted not to rip them off and swallow it. I can't remember how old your DD is.
Just another idea if you aren't fully comfortable with a piercing yet

lupincat, DD just turned 3. I always said I would wait until she asked for earrings but I didn't expect it to be yet. DD fidgets a lot and I could totally see her taking the earrings out and then the holes would close. I'm going to give her a "cooling off" period and then we'll see if she still wants them.
Anyone else getting really bad lower back pains. I am just sitting in bed while my 3 yo watches a movie, at least it is an alphabet movie, he is learning right? My back is killing me though, I need to get up and clean and stop being lazy.
I waited till my daughter was 10 to get her ears pierced. Honestly it might have been easier at 3. They bugged her enough she took them out and the grew in. At 12 she wanted them yet again, so for her birthday I took her yet again, and this time she actually didn't mess with them and kept them in long enough that she can go with out wearing anything and the holes don't close up. I wonder if a three year old would be more likely to leave them alone since they would be hard to take out.
sagen my back has been hurting for months now off and on. The pain has been sharper this week and when I got up to pee last night it hurt so sharply I almost fell over walking to the bathroom.
We are making cookies at our house this morning. Then I have to decide if I want to sew the rest of the day or clean the house.
sleepymonkey, my DD asked for piercings starting when she was 2 and we got them at 4. She freaked out. She has them but won't let me change them even though she has had them in for a year. I honestly regret not doing it when she was a baby. (I know people have opinions but oh well). The only thing I was super anal about is that we did them at a professional piercer. Places like Claire's and stuff that use the guns are not very clean and I'm a health teacher so I'm a freak like that. Plus, a gun forces the earring through the flesh, creating a jagged hole, where as a needle makes a clean hole. If I could have done it at the pediatrician, I would have.
sagen, my back hurt so bad yesterday I called L&D and almost had to go in. I started wearing the support belt today and thankfully it feels better. But yes to this back pain. It is the worst.
So my friend gave me a Christmas gift that is a surprise for tonight. She is taking me and our other BFF somewhere. I'm very excited! She only told us we have to dress up, so I hope it's fun! Tomorrow I'm getting my hair done (I'm dying it blue black to match my mood ) and of course Sunday is the Super Bowl. I couldn't care less about the football, but I'm excited to make all the snacks!
sagen - you are not alone in the back pain. Mine was bad wtih DS1, worse with DS2 and with this one - YOWZA. Worst of all so far! Just like loubug - when I get up out of bed to pee in the MOTN, I nearly fall over!! It takes me by such surprise sometimes.
Not much going on here, I'm at work - feeling like a$$. I've been sick all week, DS2 has been sick all week and out of daycare, and my hubby had to go under for a scope on Monday. So, I've missed 3 out of 5 work days this week - I REALLY could have used that time off/money for mat leave. And I just cannot kick this crap I have...my ears, nose and throat. Blah!!!
In-laws are coming in town this weekend but luckily we won't have to see them but tomorrow morning/afternoon - they are spending the rest of the weekend taking care of my sister-in-laws kiddo so they can have a night away. I'm glad only because I feel like such poop!
+1 for both ears at once. They did that for me at Claire's when I was a kid. Though I'm sure it would be a better quality piercing at a really good tattoo shop.
I got Taco Bell for lunch today. I have no shame. It was soooo good.
We're going to a fancy black tie gala tonight!! I'm kind of excited! It's all about food so I am going to eat myself silly. I rented a dress off Borrow for your Bump (RTR for maternity) and didn't realize I was getting one of those "wrap the top 21 different ways" dresses - it's pretty but I'm hoping I can figure out the wrapping so it doesn't look like I rolled myself in shiny toilet paper for the gala. I've been youtubing since I got it on Wed but still not sure how I want to wear it. Wish me luck...
Haha I wish I had some fun plans, but sickness has seriously been wreaking havoc on my family. Last week we all got a stomach bug across the course of the week, then just when everyone was better DD caught a cold and pink eye and now DH and I have the cold. I have been sick six times in my six months of pregnancy... I swear by the end of this I am going to be invincible!

So much for fun weekend plans. I started throwing up this afternoon and have been running out the other end all day. Finally holding down water but belching like crazy. This is the weirdest thing.
So then I come downstairs to check in with my husband and he is having gut issues Now too. Figures....
