lastkiss, I've taken to walking with my hands protecting my stomach. I've slapped hands away and rubbed those rubbing me. I'm not above any of it. I'm pregnant, not a fucking touch and feel museum
I know I'm in the minority but it doesn't usually bother me once there's a real bump. I also ask my close friends before I touch them which is probably slightly weird lol
lastkiss, helllllll no to anyone touching my stomach.
I had a woman at work who did it to me a few weeks ago. Talk about ducking awkward... both hands and a loud "good morning!" To my stomach. Fuck that. I do not like being touched. I don't let anyone other than my care providers and my H and DS touch my belly

I worked with this annoying guy at my old job while pregnant with DS1 and one day he just reached out and touched my belly and it made my skin crawl. So I reached out and touched his stomach, looked him dead in the eye and said "Yeah, it's uncomfortable isn't it?"
I don't mind my good friends or my mom/grandparents touching my belly but if we aren't close then hands off!
I never had this issue with DS so I was completely cut off guard. Both times it was when I arrived and had just taken off my coat. Ugh. I'm going to have to get more protective because I'm sure not putting up with it for another 14 weeks
Uh, I have not had anyone besides my mom and sister even attempt to touch my belly. A coworker??! WTF, I just can't imagine.
It was awkward as hell. I told her as much and that I don't like it the following day when I got my bearings and got over the shock. She seemed shocked that a pregnant woman wouldn't like it and commented that she loved it when people did it to her.. 😒 just cause you liked it, doesn't mean the rest of us do!
I've had (close) co-workers ask to touch my belly when I comment that baby is moving around, which bothers me way less than my mom reaching out to touch it whenever she pleases and leaving her hand there whether the baby is moving or not. I've started making comments and she's toned it down. When I was preg with DS the most awkward moment I had was when a Starbucks barista reached ACORSS THE COUNTER to rub my belly while I ordered my drink. I was too shocked to say anything so I just paid and moved on hahaa
I've had a couple instances now where people have patted/rubbed my belly and I thought it would bother me more but like tortor4 it hasn't bothered me much. I'm sure it will depend on who it is but so far I think I'm just excited to have a belly lol. Before being pg I hated even DW touching my belly so it's weird now how much I like it lol. Though I do think it's a problem that people think it's ok to just touch a pg woman's belly but I'm normally a touchy feely person so maybe that's why it bothers me less.
