I'm in a much better head space than I was last Sunday and check-in hasn't been posted yet, so I'll go ahead. @katechristine18 and anybody else, feel free to post next week and whenever! : )
1. How was your week? Wins/fails?
2. What's the plan for next week?
3. Super Bowl inspired and indirectly related to health/wellness: What are your thoughts on your kid(s) playing football and/or other sports with high risk of injury?
1. Win - down another pound or two! Fail - I ate like crap Friday at our tailgate luncheon and am still eating like crap today. I have no idea how I still lost between Thursday and today.
2. I need to throw junk out of my house and focus on simple foods again.
3. We just signed DS1 up for pre tee ball and want him to get to decide if he wants to continue as he gets older. I feel the same about other sports as well. I want both boys to be as involved in whatever they wish.
1. Win- 2 workouts despite stomach virus Fail- ate only carbs
2. 4-5 workouts, daily water goals, only one dessert, etc
3. Nope never never would I let my boys play football. The risks are too high. The big kids are both playing spring soccer and have done gymnastics and swimming. I have no problems with those.
1. Won my dietbet because of stomach bug but between that, random neck pain, knee, and traveling, I didn't work out once.
But, big win: I did go see a sports medicine PA and he did an x-ray of my knee and told me I could take alleve for the swelling/pain and to just run through!
2. I have just enough time to salvage my 13.1 training to run my race at the end of March- barring any other unexpected issues. I'm going to focus on that for the next few weeks and not beat myself up about diet until I get that under control.
Plan: Monday: Run 4 miles after work Tuesday: Rest Wednesday: Run 3 miles in am Thursday: Workout with trainer Friday: Treadmill intervals Saturday: 5 miles Sunday: Rest
3. Right now, DH is not much of a risk-taker (and only 4), so it's not really an issue. He does ask about playing football occasionally but I'm hoping delaying it and getting him into other sports will divert his attention. DH thinks football will either phase out or have technology and rules in place to make it safer by the time he is old enough to really play...and I think DH is crazy and doesn't understand how much football is engrained into the whole American (and especially Southern) experience.
1. How was your week? Wins/fails? I haven't checked in in a few weeks, but things are going well. I weighed in this morning and I'm down 9 lbs so far. Yeah! My clothes are definitely fitting differently, too. I'm feeling good. Still I couple of weeks left in my challenge, and I think I'm going to keep it going when I'm done because it's yummy and very easy to follow. I'm also making good progress with my trainer. He's increasing all my weights, and I can do stuff I couldn't do before. So, things are going well and I'm feeling very motivated.
2. What's the plan for next week? Trainer 2x Continue w/ week 5 of my eating challenge Lose some more weight, I hope
3. Super Bowl inspired and indirectly related to health/wellness: What are your thoughts on your kid(s) playing football and/or other sports with high risk of injury? NOPE NOPE NOPE. I hate everything about football. We don't even watch it in our house, so I'm hoping he never even knows it exists until after he's picked something else.
1. How was your week? Wins/fails? Started the Whole Life Challenge on Tues. So far so good! I love that the challenge focuses on several life areas (sleep, water, stretching, meditation, reflection, etc.) not just diet and exercise. Every day feels like an improvement to my overall health and wellness. It has been very refreshing and motivating. The exercise goal is just 10 min a day, which has been much more attainable.
2. What's the plan for next week? Keep trying to meet my nutrition and water goals. I did good during the week but things unraveled a bit this weekend. Back on track next week.
3. Super Bowl inspired and indirectly related to health/wellness: What are your thoughts on your kid(s) playing football and/or other sports with high risk of injury? I am a huge college football fan but I really worry about letting my own kids play. Concussions and injuries are such a scary part of the game. I guess we will have to wait and see if they show interest in playing. Right now both boys are obsessed with baseball.

1. Did well with eating until the flu hit
2. Healthy meals and up water intake.
3. Hard pass on football. No way. My kids don't seem to be into sports (quit tball week 2, did soccer once and have never wanted to again).... they do like swimming so that's what we do now. I'd like them to be involved in a team and be active but it doesn't have to be a sports team. They wont throw a baseball but will throw a frisbee for an hour. They love long bike rides and climbing too
1. How was your week? Wins/fails? I had another good week. I stayed on track exercising every other morning before work. I like getting it out of the way. I have been keeping it simple, 30-40 minutes on the elliptical including warm up and cool down, and then some stretching after. Once it gets warmer I may try and get some morning runs in. I stayed on track with my food plan, good proteins and healthy sources of fat. Friday night/Saturday morning was my cheat time because of the J15 get together. I am not even putting it in the fail category because I ate some damn good food. No regrets!!
2. What's the plan for next week? Stay on track. Work out every other morning and consume more water (I really suck at this lately). Cut down on junk food.
3. Super Bowl inspired and indirectly related to health/wellness: What are your thoughts on your kid(s) playing football and/or other sports with high risk of injury? I think the statistics for football head injuries are too big to ignore. I really do not want Nick to play football, but if it were like some big dream he had, I admit I would feel terrible telling him no. I grew up in a sports family, my brother played hockey, I played soccer and we were both so passionate about it. I think football is definitely a different beast when it comes to injuries though, and from recent studies, it's extremely frightening to even think about Nick playing it. I simply cannot deny that.

1. Wins - 6 BBM workouts and 2 Zumba classes. Stuck to a mostly healthy diet. Fails - Ate pizza and other delicious carbs on Sat. during a girls night, and treated myself to a couple cheeseburgers during the week.
2. Same as last week, minus the pizza. I can't say the same about the cheeseburgers.
3. I'm all for whatever sport(s) DS decides to participate in, including football. I guess I don't have much of an opinion on it, it's just something that doesn't really concern me.
I'm not sure where I pulled it out from, but I ran four miles yesterday without having to walk! And got in early with my trainer this am. And then have eaten all the junk.....trying again tomorrow!

I haven't eaten great so far this week either but I keep thinking if I can get exercise under control for this week maybe I can focus more on foods next week.
