Hi everybody! I know some people here will recognize me, and some won't. I was a regular community member back on TB, but hubs and I decided to take a break, and I got busy with other stuff in my life, and, well, here we are.
I know that this board isn't very active. That's okay. I just really need to talk some things through because I've been reading way too much and making myself nuts. Plus my best friend is getting sick of talking me down and I decided not to tell my parents yet.
Long story short is that I had a horrible time at Christmas. I basically had a breakdown and told DH that I couldn't keep going on like this indefinitely, and he agreed that we can try again later this year!! Yay!
Because of my history, and the fact that I didn't have a doctor during my previous losses, I made an appointment with my family doctor to talk to him about it. It went really well, despite my almost making him cry while I was blubbering on. He asked me about family history (pretty much every female in my family has had at least one loss), and sent me to get renewed blood tests while we wait to hear from a specialist. I'm either going to an internal medicine doctor with a specialty in RPL and high risk pregnancies, or an OB with specialty in RPL. My blood draw was fun. I had 14 vials taken lol.
Anyways, after my doctor had asked about family history, I remembered that my one cousin had been to a specialist to get pregnant with both of her sons. I talked to her about it a bit, and even though they never gave her a definite diagnosis, she had low progesterone levels that she took supplements for, and slow rising HCG with both of them.
One of the things that I had pinpointed as a possible cause of my losses was low progesterone, so hearing that she thinks she had something similar and that supplements likely helped her to carry has given me a lot of hope for myself.
So, here we are. I'm not quite TTC yet, but in about 6 months I'm going to get my IUD out and shortly thereafter, as long as I get the all clear, we're going to try again. I'm so excited!
