I should be sleeping, but I'm too anxious about A's EI eval at 8am. I know she'll do fine, but still. After that it's just a normal Friday, but Friday nonetheless!

rachydc do not be anxious. The El appointments are not bad. The positive is that you will know how to proceed after this and you should have most of your questions answered. I do get it bc she is your baby. I had similar feelings when dd1 had her initial evaluations. I hope it goes well and you get positive answers.

It's been a hell of a week with psycho angry toddler and work adding making changes which created a ton of work for me. I can't wait to just sit, drink some wine and eat some Ben & Jerry's tonight. Oh and H will be home tonight so he's on kid duty. Win!
forevermorgan, we are going to see Lego Batman at MY request tomorrow. LOL. Can't wait!!
rachydc, there's no bad news out of those evals. If she needs help, this is how she'll get it. I bawled during DD2's diagnosis session, even when she was older. It was the best thing ever for us all long term though. Hugs, mama.

I'm about to rant so no need to read unless you're bored. But I'll end it with something cute.
First, I woke up and went to get "J" out of her pack and play. Everything was covered in bananas!!!! I thought she puked everywhere. Nope. Her mom thought it was a good idea to leave her two year old with a ripe banana in her bed when she left for work. Luckily, I was able to throw everything in the wash and her clothes were protected by the sleep sack. That's my morning.
Random side rant. A girl from HS has started messaging me on FB. I know it's because she is a beach body coach so I'm being rather short with her since I know what she's trying to do. My issue, aside from being annoying, is that this chick is an elementary school teacher and her grammar and spelling are god awful!!! And that's coming from me!!!!
Ok so if you actually read that, here is something cute. W woke up and told J "I sit here!" And they began to play. J said "My name J!" Then Willow said "My name W". Then J said "nice to meet you." Then W picked up her milk to J and said "cheers!" As they clinked milk cups. That made my morning.
TL;DR Don't give a toddler food in bed. Teachers should be better at grammar and spelling. Kids saying "cheers" is cute.

I only have 3 patients to see today and can get that done within 1.5hrs. The boys are still spending a half day at the sitter. Once I'm done, I will spend a glorious hour throwing out Junk from the playroom and scrubbing the walls. I have such a glamorous life!
rachydc when DD was evaluated for EI I was so upset and cried to my dad for like 30 mins. In retrospect I have no idea exactly why I was so worked up.
There's no right or wrong way for her eval to go. It's actually really nice to get an idea of what's really in the range of normal for a child this age since it can seem so skewed by others experiences.
Nothing much going on here today. Have "date night" with my husband tonight. We'll be making tacos for dinner and watching something. Toddler parenting question, are you supposed to night potty train? I always figured my daughter would just tell me when she was done with the pull ups. Well I ran out last night. I woke and took her to the bathroom when we went to bed at about 11:30pm and then she woke around 6:30am to go again. She did not wet the bed. In the past when we tried just going without some nights she was fine others she would wet the bed. (DD turned 4 last month)
I work today and this weekend. H does too, so W is going to my parents. I'm really looking forward to sleeping in the next few mornings! I'll miss my kiddo, but SLEEP!

pixiepink24 that's so cute! How does J get into a bed in your house before you wake up though? Does her mom just come in and drop her off and J goes back to sleep after getting up and going to your house?
hereiam, once our older girls started waking up dry most mornings, we attempted night time potty training. We took them to the bathroom before we went to bed for the first 3-4 months and made sure they both knew they could get out of bed to go to the bathroom if needed. If you haven't already, make sure you have a good waterproof protector on the bed.
I personally don't think you can force nighttime potty training on a child; I think it's purely developmental. My oldest didn't nighttime train until 1.5 years after she daytime trained. My middle did it all at the same time. So- they nighttime trained together, pretty much!
Thanks for all the support guys rachashiscute, Im glad you mentioned you cried, that makes me feel totally normal about bawling all the way to work and getting choked up at my desk now. A was well behaved, but the woman said that she will probably be deemed eligible. I just wasn't expecting to hear that, especially 20 mins in, even though deep down I knew. We struggled to find 5 words A uses on a daily basis at her 18mo appt and I should have known then, but denial is a funny thing.
Anyway, I just ate my feelings in the form of my coworkers bday cheesecake from yesterday. Onwards and upwards! She'll be getting the help she needs, that's all that matters.
rachydc, that's 110% normal. No one wants to hear anything is "wrong" with their baby. All that matters is this can give her the help she needs though. And you are a fabulous mom for recognizing and pursuing this for her.

Her mom has a key, comes in, puts her in the spare room at 6am and she goes back to sleep until 8ish.

What is everyone doing for Valentine's Day boxes? Our daycare party is Monday and they just shot a hole in my plans to use a pre-made box (actually, I was going to re-use the one I bought last year -- gasp!!!) by requesting the kids to bring homemade ones. I don't craft well. At all. It is an in-home daycare with 8 kids and DS is the youngest. Do I need to suck it up and make one?

jnetx, we haven't sold a home, so take this with a grain of salt. But when we bought ours we were first time home buyers and didn't have a ton of cash to put towards updates. We jumped on the house we bought because it was what we wanted and needed and had VERY little to do to be move in ready. I would think that doing a few updates might broaden your buyer pool, but I definitely understand not wanting to invest the money if you might not get it all our of the purchase price. What does you realtor recommend?

Our party is Monday too, it really annoys me. Why don't they have the parties on ACTUAL Valentines day?! Is it that hard?! Idk why it gets to me so much haha

Do you have time to run out? Target, Walmart, etc now have DIY kits to make boxes.
I am grateful boxes / bags are being provided for us.
Yes, there is definitely time to pick up a DIY kit. Thank you - I didn't know those were available, hopefully they are not all gone!
I still kind of want to re-use the Avengers one I bought last year though. I guess I'll just save it for next year and my 4.5 month old can use it.

Lol that part doesn't bother me. Ours is Monday because some of the kids are part-time and not there on Tuesdays. Everyone will be there Monday. What bothers me is making a homemade box! Maybe my MIL will want to come over and make one with him tomorrow. She teaches kindergarten so this is right up her alley!
