I'm up in the town I'm from. Going to lunch with my mom then headed to the nursing home to see grandma. They moved her 2 days ago and today seemed like the only good weather day to head up here. I'm so hungry, I could probably eat my arm.
I pierced mine 11 years ago but was allergic to the titanium... so I let it close after it go horribly infected. Now one of my earring holes has grown over too! I have to get my ears repierced at 33 years old...
The way piercings decide to close over is weird! I've felt weird without the naval ring but the hernia made it almost impossible to wear one (I have my lower naval pierced, not the traditional location)
I have two holes per ear- one was done as an infant, one at 19. I've gone years without the infant ones closing but the ones done at 19 like to close after a couple months 😒
I took my naval out when I met Mh. He told me it was trashy. I was pretty done with it at that point anyways, I had it for 8 years. It closed up pretty quickly. I got my ears pierced the first time at 13 and they are still open. My other 2 holes per ear closed back in 09. I went from 8 piercings to 2. I think I'd get my nose pierced if I did another one.

I have always been totally freaked out by the idea of a naval ring (what if it gets caught on something??? gahhhh!) but the whole digging around to see if the hole is still open using a paper clip thing ahs brought me to a whole new level of horror.
FFFC: I may have sanitized a paper clip and tried to see if my naval was still pierced (I haven't worn a ring since half way through my pregnancy with DS1). I plead the 5th on if this actually happened

I got my tongue pierced when I was underage too. I was drunk and my friends thought it'd be funny. I took it out when I was 20. My parents still don't know I had it or they just chose to ignore it.

I got my tongue and belly button pierced on my 18th birthday. I was allergic to both. The belly button got super infected and I took it out. My tongue swelled up so bad and I choked on my own vomit and almost killed myself trying to get it out. My boyfriend (now H) had to unscrew it with plyers.
I got the first hole in each ear when I was around 6. I made my younger sister go first to make sure she lived through it. I added a second hole in each ear in high school. I stopped wearing earrings in the second hole a few years ago. I have no desire to pierce anything else.
Just the thought of a hole in my belly button makes me queasy. They look good on other people though!

My mom pierced my ears when I was 3 weeks old. She was a teenager and I was like her little dress up doll. I can't imagine doing that to my baby at such a young age.
I got a tattoo with a fake ID when I was 16. It's a butterfly.
Of course it is.
Right?! Women of a certain generation...I suppose. I imagine I'll have it removed eventually. You can't see it even in a bikini so I hardly ever think about it.

Hard no to piercing a baby's ears. I would rather give them the choice when they're old enough to make it.

I'm really hoping my H surprises me with a race entry for Valentine's Day. I've been throwing hints left and right. Though not really hinting at all, more like telling him I want to run it over and over and over.

My mom had mine done when I was six weeks old too. We didn't do DD's but mostly because mine aren't straight and it kind of annoys me but they're basically never going to close. We didn't do DD's. we're waiting until she asks.

I attempted to get my tongue done as an 18 yr old. The piercer wouldn't do it because of the vein in my tongue, he would have had to roll it out of the way and he wanted to turn me over to the owner. I freaked out and never did it.

I'm also team-no on piercing baby's ears. I'll pierce DD's when she's old enough to ask and take care of the upkeep afterward- she just asked this last weekend if she can get holes in her ears so she can wear earrings like mine, but I think 3 is too young to care for them properly.

My SIL got her DDs done when she was an infant at a jewellry store of all places, and they set them too high and I every time I look at them I think, you did this to her. She had no choice. I dont judge her because there are arguments like healing fast but damn they turned out so stupid. I think if I ever have a daughter I will wait until she can choose, and take her to a piercer who can do it properly with a needle instead of a gun. I also cant judge anyone for using a gun because that is how mine were done when I was 12 and again at 18 when I got them redone... This time I will get them done with a needle.
We moved away from paper towels about 3 years ago and at the same time I also bought cloths to replace tissues. It's been amazing. I end up having one in every coat pocket all winter.
Quoting myself: I bet this is a FFFC/UO to not use paper towels or tissues. My H thinks the tissues are gross.
I also use cloth napkins. We still have paper towel, but for other uses.

juliayadda, how does piercing with a needle at a piercing place work? Sounds so painful, it's nice that the gun is so fast, but I understand people who do it for a living are better equipped for it than some 16-year-old at Claire's.

We have cloth napkins, cloth "paper" towels, and cloth tissues. We do have legit paper towels because of dog vomit, bacon grease, that sort of thing.
Apparently there are people who do cloth toilet paper. Don't think I can go that far. Though at the same time, I'm going to do cloth diapers and wipes for this baby, which is similar?
