@akwild DD1 had a really hard time being around new people until just recently (she's almost 3.5). It didn't matter how often we went out, she clung to me and would get super overwhelmed and cry if I didn't carry her. She is still a very shy kid, but we can at least go out in public without meltdowns now. I credit preschool.
Anyone using a pillow for their LOs in their crib/bed? We're converting V's bed today and was considering getting him a pillow because he likes to sleep on mine when he comes into our bed.
If so, where/what did you buy? All of the adult pillows are so big and fluffy (mine is a special memory foam one that was pretty expensive, so we won't be replicating that).
C uses one. I got it at a huge craft fair. But it's considered a "travel pillow" so it's much smaller.

budders, we have a wedge pillow for DS because the elevation always helped him being constantly sick in the winters, but it's under the sheet so not sure how that would translate to a toddler bed. He does also sometimes just scrunch his blankets up and use those as a pillow, so I think we would just use a regular pillow for his bed. Or check the kids bedding section at Target, we also have a Paw Patrol dog that's technically a "pillow" that DS loves.

We just use old pillows of ours. Probably not helpful if you don't have any, or you aren't comfortable with the ones you have ha.

+1 and she loves that thing! It's getting a little flat now so I should probably start looking into a insert

An excuse to go to Target. Perfect!
PSA- target has all clothes, shoes, and swim 25% off for the family on cartwheel.... they may have taken a lot of my money yesterday.

We have one for lo, I think my mom got it at babies r us. I think the brand is Robin something...
How are you guys handling picky eaters or just stubborn eaters? W will love something 3 times and then push it away the 4th time. Do you offer something else? End dinner if they refuse to eat what's offered? I don't intend to make multiple options every night...
I was feeling super frustrated with how picky DD was being at dinner time. So, I just started preparing a plate of whatever my H and I are eating (within reason obviously, nothing too spicy or anything). And then I pretty much ignore whether or not she's eating it. I feel like she feeds off me getting upset when she won't eat healthy or new foods, so I just don't respond at all. When she says she's done, we end the meal. But then when she's asking for snacks later, I offer her what's left on her plate. She has begrudgingly started eating at least 10 new things this way.

This is what we do. Everyone gets the same plate, they either eat it or they don't. But we don't do snacks after dinner.
I do try to incorporate something that they like in the dinner though, so that I know they'll at least eat some portion. And I do tailor ingredients (like leaving mushrooms off their portion, or adding spice after I portion theirs out) for things I know are really objectionable.

We also do something similar - I make sure to make at least one thing DS likes - so for example, last week we made crab cakes, which was the first time DS tried them. I made garlic toast and salad with them, since I know he likes those things. He didn't like the crab cakes, so his snack (we do a bedtime snack) included some lunch meat since he didn't get much protein at dinner. If he barely touches his veggies at dinner, we do fruit for snack to add extra produce, etc. If he really isn't into dinner, I'll offer him a bowl of Cheerios, but a big hell no to specially preparing other foods. That's a trap I've seen others fall into, and I really am hoping to avoid.
Also, if you're trying to get him to eat something specific (like a vegetable or something), what we do sometimes is over exaggerate how good it is - so H and I will pop it into our mouths and be like, "mmmmmm!" and then ask DS if he wants to try. He'll normally still let us pop food in his mouth, so at least 50% of the time he'll eat and and say "mmmmmm!" as well. Granted, sometimes it gets spit right back out, but it's gotten more veggies in him than if he were left completely to his own devices.

Here's my stupid question - how are you all taking your kids for walks? With the stretch of unseasonably nice weather, we've been going outside a lot more, and one of our favorite activities is just taking a walk through the neighborhood with the dog. Normally, we always put DS in the stroller, but over the last week or so, he throws a fit about every 3-4 times you pop him in the stroller. So if you don't want to battle him to try and get him calm in there, we try taking him in this little car contraption we can push, or his tricycle (he puts his feet up on the bars and we push), but most of the time, he'll ride on those for a few minutes, then put his feet down and insist on walking, which of course cuts the walk short. I've tried snacks in the stroller, but since we often go after dinner, he's not necessarily really hungry. Am I missing any genius tricks, or do we just have to ride out the phase? Because surely at 20-ish months, it's too early to be packing away strollers, right?

With both my boys I have only used the stroller for races or places where we want them to take a nap. So it's usually packed up. I don't think there is a too early. For hikes/long walks/dog walks we wear BH.
