What signs does your lo know? E can sign all done, more and milk (slight variations, she claps for more, waves her arms for all done, finger waves for milk),.
I'm not sure if I should try teaching her a different sign for a sippy of milk though, since that's what she'll have at daycare (vs nursing at home). I'm also debating teaching her "water" since she loves her water. That one seems advanced to me though.
I would like to. I feel like I am slacking when it comes to being more willing to try new things with LO. I need to get better at scheduling more time for activities and interactions.

I only sign in situations where I use them. No videos, activities etc. So at dinner I would ask her if she wants more and sign it. I also was physically doing it to her. For milk I sign when I ask if she wants milk. She only Just picked that one up this week and it isn't guaranteed yet.

I googled baby sign language and they have some charts online that I think would be easy to use. I think I can slowly start. Thanks for the tips.

I forgot, for More I also purposely only gave her a bit of food at a time. Then I'd ask her if she wanted more and sign it. It forced me to use it more and to give her more of a chance to learn it.
W knows all done. Tbh, I've failed miserably at doing any others. Of course, he showed his prowess for knowing all done by taking his lunch and dumping it on the floor at a downtown restaurant and signing all done. It was his first time using it. I was torn between being proud and figuring out how to say don't dump your lunch on the floor then say all done.
LO started signing more this weekend, but has pretty much stopped doing all done. Is that normal? Forgetting 1 thing because you know another? Or just a phase?

K does the same as E for more and all done. I've been signing milk to her since 2 fn months (not totally consistent but still) and she just blankly stares at me. She also only signs half the time. We are working on being more consistent since the freak outs are becoming ever more increasing. Especially when she's done eating.

We don't need a sign for milk, climbing me and pulling my shirt down and shoving your face into my cleavage works, right? Totally appropriate for all occasions? Lol...
We have been working on water but she just reaches for it instead.

Mine hit's a vocal pitch that I have never heard in human or animal. It's wonderful in public places. Brings no attention to us at all.

It has definitely helped the freak outs at the dinner table. Also with nursing because now she comes and signs instead of screaming and slapping at my boobs. Though she sometimes signs milk a million times a day and when I try to nurse her she nurses like 3 seconds and then freaks out when I put it away lol. Apparently she wants full access all day long.
The other day at the dinner table she signed milk, and I told her no, she then signed more and all done..... I think she was confused lol.
I posted earlier in here I think that with "more" it helps to purposely only give her a bit of food at a time so she has to sign it to get more. She forgot the sign for a couple days so I had to go back to that to remind her of it.

Sometimes when K means all done she means done sitting in her chair. This causes confusion for everyone because she'll get pissed we take the food away. I know I'm going to regret this later but I can't wait until we have a few more words down.
I sincerely wish I had not taught LO to sign milk. She will not stop signing it. Like 11 billion times a day and then gets mad when I don't nurse her. I have been saying "it's not time for milk, how about x instead" but I'm prob confusing her, but I am not willing to nurse her a bajillion times a day.

We only have all done as a sign still. We finally finally finally got her to say something for milk/cup/drink. She says "Baba" about half the time but its better then nothing.

She'd probably just scream at you and pull on your shirt, hit you instead lol. That's what E did before I taught her the sign.

She would do that, well pull at my shirt and smack my chest, but that was not as frequent as the signing. I guess before it was like only when she was at the "get me milk now, level" vs signing which is easier and every, "ya, I could use a boob" gets a sign. Lol.

Haha makes sense I think E was like that. She isn't quite as into it now.

"Baba" is what J says when she wants to nurse. For a little bit, I was also "baba," and sometimes when she's in her high chair she'll sign more and say "baba" even though she just wants more food!

K is notorious for signing "all done" and then shoving more food in her face. but god forbid you don't listen when she really is all done. It makes dinner a circus most nights.

E has learned the sign for eat. She mostly only uses it when I ask her if she wants to eat. It's amusing though because sometimes she'll have her paci in and she'll take it out to sign and then put it back in. She's also become a paci addict, I need to crack down on that again.
ETA: she also signs more "correctly" now. I have no idea when that happened or how she figured it out vs just clapping

It's one of the only words K says consistently and with conviction. I'm burying my head in the sand for a little bit longer though. She'll grow out of it eventually, right? *buries head really, really far into the sand*

Haha yes. I restricted dd1 to it for crib and long car rides or really tough days. We got rid of it no problem just before she was 3. E gets it more often. We have to walk dd1 to school and back every day so she gets it then. She's going through some separation anxiety so I've let her have it now so she'll stop crying and screaming lol. I need to stop that.

Yes! "here, whatever, just please, please, stop whining for 3 minutes."
