So I started metformin at the end of January. Last month, my period was quicker and smoother than ever before in my life. I'm pretty close to cd1 any day now, and have had spotting. But my left ovary is killing me. Feels exactly like O pains on a medicated cycle. Cyst? Long cycle and just now Oing? Something else?
I never have really had period cramps, but I got ovulation cramps like crazy even though I don't seem to actually ovulate? If it were me I would assume long cycle. But there are so many differences from one cyster to the next.
Me: 32, PCOS Him: 30, 4.5% morph, TTC: 10/11/12 After 5 failed Clomid cycles and 3 failed Femara cycles with HCG triggers, IVF #1 w/ICSI April 2015 resulted in a BFP! Our little Newt was born January 2016!

I am no help because in my time off BCP and not in some kind of treatment cycle (i.e. when I know my body wasn't even remotely close to O'ing) I didn't have anything like this, ever. I did have O pains in Clomid cycles. Have never experienced an ovarian cyst of the non-PCOS variety, so I wouldn't know how to distinguish that from O pain. I suppose this is one of those annoying situations when only time will tell. (And/or if the pain doesn't subside, your ob-gyn will tell.) Sorry you're uncomfortable!

Hmm, I used to have frequent ovary pain both on and off metformin. While I have mild PCOS, I attributed it to my pal endometrioma. I feel like those ovaries can be buggers pretty much anytime. Ibuprofen always worked best for me. Take care.

Sorry I don't know much about your personal history and I'm mobile so I can't see siggies. Any other diagnoses? Are you on any contraceptive or other meds that could affect hormones?

Nope, no contraceptives. (Oops? Or not. Who knows.) Anovulatory PCOS is our only diagnosis.

When I had cysts the pain was worst during my period. I would think that is the most likely culprit.
ETA *possible triggers*: one other thing that just occurred to me is the possibility of an ectopic. If you think that might be possible given the timing, you may want to take a test to rule it out.
Mh made a comment about making a baby and I thought I was pretty close to O and just started metformin and was just stupid and naive and hopeful. Whatever the cause of the ovary pains, I'm not pg. And when I mentioned it to mh, he said that he never thought I was or could be. He just said something about making a baby to get laid.
Wtf. Did he or did he not go through 3 years of IF and loss with me? I'm so hurt and sad right now. I feel so stupid.
