Question for Stay at Home Moms

Those wonderful women (and men) who stay home......

What do you like to be called when discussing your employment? Stay at home mom? Homemaker? Something I haven't heard of?

I write a lot of reports where I have to indicate what the parent does and I don't know what to put when the mother stays home. 

What's the most appropriate term?

Children's servant? I mean, if we're going for honesty

But really, I'm not a huge fan of the term homemaker, it seems dated to me but I wouldn't be offended by it. I'm happy with stay at home parent.

lol. I was going to put something witty, but I couldn't think of anything.

OK. I thought "stay at home parent" was most appropriate, but wanted to make sure.

I never know what to say when I have to answer that question. I usually say stay at home mom.

I feel like it should be like "Director, Household Operations"...

But I'm in HR so....

I agree with robotpcr. IME It seems most places default to "homemaker" but it does feel really dated. It definitely doesnt offend me though.

If you can put stay at home parent I think that would be best.
I guess something like full time caregiver could be too vague, but I dont mind that either.

I was wondering if there was a more appropriate term like this that encompassed the whole job. Not so sure my supervisor would appreciate this, though
