1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week? I'm pretty sure I gave H and myself food poisoning so food wise I did really well because I didn't want to eat. Only worked out once because I was sick for 4 days.
2. What are your goals for this week? Workout 3 times and keep up with good food choices.
3. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts? AW-as of this morning I am officially PP weight!! Or whatever the OB and I decided it was. Questions-Im looking into Whole30 or something similar. Has anyone done it before? I also looked at the whole body challenge and was disappointed to see that the next one doesn't start until May.
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? Not good examples. My mother is a super yo-yo dieter. I've seen her range 100 pounds in weight. She'll gain weight then decide to be skinny again and cut her calories to 1000-1200 per day and melt back down. My father smoked for 50 years, drank mostly coffee or double shots, and didn't pay attention to his blood pressure or cholesterol. He did manual labor for most of his life so was always strong and lean. I've always lost weight while exercising and tried to pay attention to what I'm putting into my body. My mom's yo-yoing always scared me because it was so drastic. She would drop 20lbs in a month which was obviously not something she could maintain.

1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week? I did really well! I made decent food choices and made it to the gym 4 days. I'm LOVING my new gym!
2. What are your goals for this week? Make it to the gym 4-5 days. Go for a long walk every day. Make good food choices.
3. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts? With the gym and weight watchers, I lost 6lbs this week! I'm doing a really good job at keeping myself motivated and going to the gym even when I don't want to. I'm very proud of myself for that.
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? Growing up we basically lived on a no sodium and low fat diet because of my fathers health issues. My dad was an athlete and loved to play sports with my brother and me. My mom used to walk 6 miles a day just because she loved to. It wasn't until they passed away that I really became unhealthy and gained weight. I actually gained a TON of weight, when my mom died, from emotional eating.
1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week? Still up to date on both challenge/workout groups!
2. What are your goals for this week? H is off this week, so I feel like we'll have to be more conscious of keeping up our eating and workout habits since our routine will be changed. At least we both want this though so that is good.
3. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts? We had a BBM fit test/measurement check last week and my chest and arms were down in size this time. And my stomach looked quite a bit different than day 1s picture..you can tell my floppy post baby extra weight skin is starting to tighten up a bit.
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? They were very encouraging for us to be involved in sports and us kids were all active in a few things each with their support. I feel that food, specifically snacking, was a tough point for them and something I go back and forth being healthy on myself now as an adult.
1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week? Not good. H and I drank Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which leads to not great snacking decisions. I also didn't work out last week, though I finally go back on the wagon yesterday. We were super active outside this weekend, so at least my steps were up even if my eating wasn't on-point.
2. What are your goals for this week? Get back on track with a lot less snacking and eating healthier in general. Also try to workout a couple more times again.
3. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts? This was the first Monday that the scale went up from the previous week. It didn't go up too much, but between Valentine's Day, being home more, and the nice weather, we fell into bad habits, and it showed. Going to try and correct that this week.
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? Kind of? My mom was always on some kick, and loves buying "low fat" "low calorie" and "low sodium" versions of everything, and uses tons of artificial sweeteners. As an adult, I prefer to use "real" ingredients, and just try to eat less of the treats. I was overweight in middle school and high school as well, and my mom always tried to get me to diet/exercise, and always told me I should try to lose weight. I know she meant well, but I think it still has lingering effects on my self-esteem. They were very encouraging and helped motivate me when I lost my big chunk of weight in my 20's.

1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week? Not great. It's been a rough couple of weeks.
2. What are your goals for this week? Keep water intake and steps up. Remember to pack enough food for lunch and dinner.
3. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts? Q- I'm looking for some type of container to keep my food warm since I don't have easy access to a microwave during the day. Not a thermos. Does any type of container like this exist?
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? Not really. Growing up my mom was a heavy smoker. We had a standing dinner date with her friend and her kids every Tuesday at McDonalds for several years (at least 10-15) with very few exceptions, and we always ordered pizza on fridays. Actually, I don't think we ate out much more than that, so that's not horrible. My dad was an OTR semi driver, then became an overnight driver. I know he packed food to bring with, but he also stopped at rest stops and fast food. He died of a heart attack 5 weeks before he turned 42.

1. How did you do on your goal progress/choices this past week?I'm still really struggling with the weekend. This is the second (third?) weekend I've failed at eating/drinking appropriately. It's so much easier when I'm on a set schedule, in one place, at work.
2. What are your goals for this week? I want to get my weekends under control!
4. GTKY: Were/are your parents a good example of healthy living? Has that influenced how you view making healthy choices? It's complicated. My mom has always had a really unhealthy body image, and has been on weight watchers since she was 16. But food wise, that meant there wasn't much unhealthy to eat in our house. We rarely went out to dinner and dessert was usually fruit. But neither of my parents were very active. After my dad's first heart attack, they got more active, the three of us would run 4 miles every morning. After his second heart attack, they switched to the gym every day. Both did one of those Medifast/medically observed diets right before my dad died, and he died at the gym.
The combination of environment and genetics means I'm a little vigilant about the boys relationship with food and activity.
