DS1 is flying all by himself today. I'm sending him to my mom's for a week while the rest of us go to Houston to look for a house. The last time we were in Houston we went specifically to decide which areas we wanted to start looking for a house. I also needed to know I could live there so DH flew us all down. DS1 was so bored. I could see him dying a slow and painful death each day we were there, lol. So I decided to let him go visit my mom instead. I will be a nervous wreck until my mom calls and tells me she has him. He is 14 so I'm sure he will be ok. I know he is a little scared to be flying alone though.
Ugh. Heartburn is rearing it's ugly head. It gets earlier with each pregnancy. I bought some Zantac today and will start taking it daily.
I have noticed some heartburn already too. I had it bad with my daughter but didn't with my last pregnancy. I'm assuming since I have already had a few episodes this pregnancy will be riddled with it too.
Yeah. I've had it with every pregnancy. I took Tums a lot with my son. Then someone enlightened me that it is possible to take too many Tums. So with my daughter I took Zantac daily. That worked so much better than Tums.
caybeh, I was chewing Tums like they were candy when I had it bad with my daughter. I plan to take something daily like Zantac if it gets bad this time. No point in suffering.

I'll have to try Zantac out this pregnancy. When I was KU with DD I could barely even drink water without getting heartburn & indigestion. I've only felt it a few times this pregnancy so far.

Okay the glucose drink is still super nasty. Why can't they figure out how to make one taste like starbucks or someshit. Gag. I need these next 3 hrs to fly by. Arghhhh.
Also I haven't ate in 12 hrs , and chicken tortilla soup sounds delicious mmmm

I have several friends whose doctors just had them eat a candy bar. No luck here. I get the orange drink.

A candy bar? Ohhhh that'd be nice. I had the orange too. So gross.
gwapessaltandvinegar I thankfully had a choice between fruit punch, lemon lime, and orange last time and hopefully will again. I hate oranges/orange flavored things so I would be so unhappy if that was my only option! I also hate fruit punch so I'm stuck with nasty sprite but I'd gladly take that over the others.
You hate fruit punch?! Everyone knows that red is always the best flavor. In gummy bears, fruit snacks, Skittles, and even glucose drinks.
Team fruit punch lol. The lemon lime one for the 1hr was just as gag worthy as the orange for the 3 hr. With DS I only did the 2 hr and had the lemon lime.
I don't mind the orange one. I have a choice between orange and fruit punch. I think the orange flavor tastes like a melted freeze pop.
I'm not a huge fan of fruit punch.
I'd probably take the lemon/lime if it was offered.
The worst part for me is usually about 3 hours later I'm crashing from the sugar and want to take a nap. This time I'm going to take the rest of the day off when I do this test.

My Girl Scout cookies were delivered today. DH is away and I'm debating on telling him we got them so I don't eat them all or pretending I didn't order any and making it my personal challenge to eat all 3 boxes before he gets home Friday.

Wrong.
I'm team orange/citrus. I've never had the glucose drink though.
Maybe a UO...but I don't think the glucose drink is that bad. I think I've had both orange and fruit punch. To me it tastes like flat orange pop but I like orange pop so there's that.

False!!!
I need you around when I eat fruit/color flavored candies. I avoid reds. And purples. The citrus flavors are the only non-nasty ones.

My glucose tolerance test was at 28 weeks and thankfully I didn't have to fast before it. I was rather terrified of it (the actual test more than the results, other than the possibility or having to do the 3 hour one!) because sweet drinks that don't have cream in them are revolting and sugar that isn't balanced out by protein/fiber always makes me feel yucky. But I wasn't required to fast before it and so had some high fiber and protein snacks (and nothing sugary) about 40 minutes before it and that helped.

I had the lemon-lime and didn't think it was really that bad either. I mean, I wouldn't drink it for fun, but not terrible.
