I know I have a lot of time to make a decision, but I'm trying to figure out if we'll want to have a double stroller. DS will be a little over 2 1/2 when LO is born. He doesn't go in the stroller that often, but he might if he sees the new baby in it. Another option is to put the baby in the carrier, but it was nice to just transfer a sleeping baby still in the car seat into the stroller.
We didn't buy one until after DD was born. That is about the age difference between our kids. I didn't think I wanted one. Then we had DD. DS was such a runner that I didn't trust him to follow me. We basically only used it when I was with the kids alone at the mall or for walks. But I'm glad we have it. We used to hang out at the mall a lot back then.

We still use our double stroller and they are 4 and 2
That's good to hear! I've been contemplating whether to get a double stroller or not, since dd will be 3.5 when baby is born. But we do a lot of walking in our neighborhood, so I've been leaning towards getting one.

We use it on walks and going to the zoo and sometimes my son wants out and that's fine but he gets tired. He's four 3 miles is a lot for a four year old

Some of you may remember I posted last week or the week before about the murder of 2 girls in our neighboring community. The killer still hasn't been found and now the story has made national news. One of the girls actually videotaped part of the incident and audio of it was released yesterday. I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones or what, but I am just a total mess about all of this. I cannot get it off my mind. If you're the praying type, please pray this man is caught. Im sure he hasn't stuck around town, but we are all scared to do anything right now.

I second this. It's also a lifesaver for walking to our pool. It will hold both kids and tons of stuff. We rarely take it anywhere in our car. During the baby stage we would do the single for the 2 yr old and a carrier for the baby most of the time.
I'm off work today and woke up at 6am. On a normal day, I get up at 5:30 and it's like cruel and unusual punishment WTF body? This was your day to sleep in!
Yeah I was up at weird hours last night. I got up at 2:30 and started paying bills. I thought pregnancy insomnia started later, but I guess not!
Noooooo! I wake up to pee every night at least once and never had an issue falling right back to sleep until this week. Now I pee, then lay in bed for god knows how long thinking about the most ridiculous things. Like last night, I couldn't stop wondering about the characters from Stephen King's The Stand. Bizarre.

Ha! I wake up and to pee at 3:30 like clockwork and then can't fall asleep until 5 or so most days...which is annoying since I used to get up at 5:30 (I've moved back to 6:30 for survival). I do the same thing...thinking about the weirdest things, last night I spent at least 45 minutes wondering if a certain pair of shoes was in my car. I should've just gotten up and checked...maybe could've gotten back to sleep faster!

House hunting is going great. We saw some incredible houses yesterday. From all those houses I have it narrowed down to 2 that I like the most. Today we are going to see new construction homes so it should be interesting to compare the houses we see today with what I liked yesterday.

I loved looking at new construction, but the cost of new construction is HUGE (at least in our area) compared to buying an existing home. We wanted to build. But to stay in our price range, we would've had to settle with about 2000 sq ft, on a 1/4 (maybe) acre of land, in a neighborhood we didn't love and we wouldn't have gotten a basement. Instead, we ended up finding our dream home, in our dream neighborhood with 2400 sq ft, full basement and attic. The lot is probably the same size, but the other thing about new construction is all of those "new" costs...landscaping, sod/grass, fence...
Good Luck! I thought house hunting was going to be fun, but it ended up being so stressful for me. (we just moved in July).

We just moved in Oct. We looked for 2 years for a house. The housing market here was crazy where things were selling like hot cakes. It was nuts. We ended up building because we couldn't find an existing house in our price range that we liked. There are some additional costs of new construction. But you don't have to do everything right away. This is our second house that was new construction. Good luck leviosa!
We are getting ready to list our house in a month or so too. We just have a few projects to finish up first. I'm already stressed about selling ours & finding one we love. Last time we didn't have to worry about the selling aspect so we could take our time & find one that was perfect.
laurenash323, our realtor said some new construction can be less expensive (if you buy a house they have already built) bc they have incentives and pay all the closing costs. We will see. She also said there is one builder with the same layout as the last house we saw yesterday. So that would be great bc there was a bonus space in that house that wasn't finished that a builder could easily finish and possibly make another bedroom out of. I want it as my sewing/craft room. DH is always hounding me about the clutter from all my crafting supplies. This would be a great solution.

Having a designated craft room is so nice! I didn't have that in our old house and do now...if only I found more time to get down there and work though!

Our only obstacle right now is that we can't close until June. So the sellers may not be ok with that. I have decided not to stress about that though because the worst case scenario is that we end up renting for a few months when we get here and then buying a home. I don't want to be getting settled that late in my pregnancy but we will make it all work.
Being on this trip with DH and our youngest 2 kids has shown me how attached L is to me. I can't even go shower without him screaming the whole time I'm in there. I feel bad for everyone on our hallway in this hotel. He can be heard way down the hall and it sounds like he is right next to you screaming. Also, DD developed a fever last night so she isn't feeling 100%. I knew L was really attached, I just didn't realize it was to this degree. Maybe because we aren't at home he is having some anxiety.

YEsterday I got a call I've been dreading. MH dislocated his shoulder for the fourth time. Thankfully they were able to get it set again less than an hour after it happened so it looks like it should heal quickly. Last time he sat in the ER waiting room for 8 hours and had 9 months of nerve damage (couldn't open his hand, do a thumbs up). I'm hoping it heals fast because as he laid there waiting for them to set it he got a call from the job he's been interviewing for since September offering him the job. And he's a mechanic so he kind of needs his arm in order to work.
Kudos to you all moving while pregnant. We did it last time I was pregnant and it was rough on all of us. It was nice to be in and settled before the baby was born though. We ended up with a resale in a new neighborhood. Our house was new, but we didn't have to wait for it to be built, plus it came with paint and blinds and a deck already built. We were able to move right in without having to do anything but paint the nursery. It was nice!
I will say that I'm grateful for Phenergan helping me sleep. I rarely wake up unless to pee, and then I'm a zombie and pass right back out when I hit the bed. That is a magical drug.
Haha it does the opposite for me. It makes me crazy restless. The one time I took it was the most awful feeling ever. Luckily I was in the ER and they were able to give me something else to knock me out!
I got a letter from the state saying that DD was missing a vaccine. No she isn't. So I called the state back and the lady I talked to said she shows her as up to date. She was going to go into the system and make sure it is updated all the way through. Weird, yo.

Ramen noodles were the only thing that sounded appealing for lunch. I'm glad I was home so no one but my 4 year and 1.5 year old witnessed me eating them.
Well, I guess I have a urinary track infection. Off the the pharmacy to get some drugs. And I tested positive for Group B. So drugs during labor too. I'm not surprised. I've tested positive for Group B with all my kids. Whomp whomp.

I got home around 3p from a work luncheon. I had intentions of cleaning my bedroom, but instead laid down in bed with my phone and dvr...I don't remember the last time I acted this lazy

I was GBS+ with DD. The IV antibiotic caused such a horrible taste in my mouth. Blah. I'm allergic to penicillin, so whatever they gave me instead (clindamycin?) was yuck. Maybe they can give me something different if I need antibiotics again this time around.

Did they test you so early because you've tested positive your other pregnancies?

She said the bacteria in the UTI was caused by GBS. So she just said drugs during labor. I know with DD, GBS showed up in my first urine sample too so they never tested me again and just told me I would need antibiotics during labor. DS was the only one that I was tested positive for at 35 weeks.
Well, the new construction didn't blow my skirt up. It was way too pricey for us to get everything we want as well. Even with the upgrades, they didn't take the lead over the 2 houses I love from yesterday.
