Thanks pixiepink24. My friend asked me what exactly am I looking for (said in kind of a judgy tone). Think about what kids would be doing at those programs people pay for. MUSIC: I expect music to include some exploration of instruments. Working on rhythm and imitating movements. Some call and response songs. ART: exploration of different textures and media. I personally don't care about finished products so much. LITERACY: I can't stand "worksheets". I'd rather see them explore letters with stamps, playdoh, their bodies... You certainly don't have to be rigid pixiepink, you will figure out how to put your flair on it. But this lady seemed to have no creativity in how she engaged the kids.

@ceci8876 Definitely! I want it to really be hands on and play based. I'm going to do lots of music with them since I can teach them basic piano, guitar, and drums. Plus we do a lot of moraccas and shakers along to records playing. As for art, I want to do lots of sensory stuff. We do lots of educational outings too. I just have to finally put a schedule together but I'm excited! Do you have any Waldorf or Reggio Emilia based day cares by you?
We have a Reggio Emelia based daycare near us. I'm trying to schedule a tour. It's hard because by the time I'm near home during the week, they are winding down. So I will have to wait for our next school vacation
