I have my first PP visit this week and am wondering what the norm is regarding bringing LO to the appt. MH will be at work, but my MIL is available to go with me and hang out with DS in the waiting room if needed.
I brought ds 1 with me for my pp visit but I figured my cnm would want to meet him after seeing me so many times over 9 months. Dh came too though. We'll probably do the same with ds 2, they don't get to see as many babies after delivery in ob as they do in pediatrics :-)

For my first two boys, I brought them along to my 6 week check up - the doctors and nurses always loved seeing outside babies. I will be bringing this LO with me to my check up in a few weeks.

Yep I brought mine and my husband came with. They came back in the room with me. I figured my doctor would want to meet him after seeing me for 9 months! She didn't deliver him
My DH had to work, and we don't live near family, so mine came to my PP appt. My doctor enjoyed seeing my LO. I had a scheduled induction and he was working that evening. Unfortunately, LO didn't make her debut until 30 hours later when he was off duty. He thanked me for bringing her to the appt because they hardly get to see the babies on the outside.
I'm on my 4th and I've always brought my kiddos to the PP appointment. I'm planning to do the same this time. Like PPs have said, the docs are usually excited to see the baby.
I guess things run differently with midwives. We are asked to bring LO for 2, 4 and 6 week check ups and she checks the baby (weight, growth, reflexes, latch, etc.) as well as me.

DS is coming to my MW appointment, they want to check on him too! I like that they are so involved and kid-friendly. DH will have to come though because they are putting in my IUD and I will need help!

I'll be bringing the dictator to mine on Thursday. I'm really hoping he will not throw a fit. I saw my doctor a few days after giving birth and my nurse was sad I didn't bring him! I had a rough pregnancy with many, many trips to the doctor so I know they will appreciate seeing the (adorable) end result.
I had two follow ups so far due to c section complications and took the baby both times since I am nursing and had not pumped yet. He slept the whole time and I'll take him to my 6wk PP appt as well.

I went by myself. DH came home from work and watched him. I regret not bringing him though. My Dr wanted to see him. I plan on taking him at my next appt in June.
He'll be in tow. I don't have anyone to watch him. And we will stop at BRU afterwards and pick up some winter 6 mos stuff. This guy is over 10 lbs at almost 6 weeks....up from under 7 at hospital discharge!
I brought my son with me. H was working and I wanted my doctor to see him. He was late to my delivery and I delivered with the student doctor or whatever they are called.
I brought my LO and DH, since it was such a long drive LO was ready to eat when we got there so DH stayed in the car with her and he changed her and fed her from some pumped BM.
i don't have a choice...SO is working and i have no local family. i scheduled it while DS will be in preschool so i don't have to bring both kids though.
I took my LO to my appointment. My OB asked to see him at the end of my appointment. I took him because his clinic usually runs late & I knew it would go into his next feeding.
