Apparently 12,degrees is warm enough for the icicles on the outside of the house to start melting and leak in thru our kitchen window. Like covered our entire floor pretty sure the molding its leaking thru is damaged. And our landlord won't be here until were gone too look at it. Fuck. Just fuck
DD cried and screamed when I tried to put her down for nap in her room. I brought her downstairs and rocked her to sleep. I'm going to lay her on the couch soon. She protested rocking at age one. This seems so out of the blue. Do you guys think it could be a phase?

Oh shit. :/ The sun angles are starting to shift as we get closer to spring anyway, and I've noticed stuff melting even in really cold temps as long as the sun's out. But that sucks massively that you now have leaks. Do you maybe have ice jams in your gutters that's also causing it? Hopefully your landlord will get there sooner rather than later so it can be looked at.
Adding a picture to show. There is an awning for the apartments side porch next to our window and ice frozen on the window so we're thinking the problem is with the ice we can see. I hope the people above us don't have issues too now.

I am going to guess phase-- or maybe she's just having a tough day?
I didn't rock DD to sleep ever, but she has times when she needs more kisses/ cuddles/ singing before bed and sometimes she's just like "night mama" and rolls over and goes to sleep.

Oh my goodness. DS's newest thing is going "Night niiiiiiight!" and basically kicking us out of the room! It is pretty cute.
I don't know what to make for dinner. On the board is an eggplant stir-fry that frankly sounds disgusting now.
I am on like plan C or D for supper (not that I even have that plan formulated yet). I didn't think I needed to rush to get to the store first thing this morning, but then I went to put in my roast only to remember I did actually need groceries for today (needed potatoes). So then I pulled out chicken from the freezer that was going to be used tomorrow. I thought it had a decent chance of being softened enough to dice in time for supper, but nope, still hard as a rock pretty much. Not 100% sure what plan C is. Plan D if nothing else comes to mind soon is Irish pancakes with fruit and/or yogurt.
LO is jamming on the electric keyboard. He is demanding a captive audience for his concert, including insisting that Dog2 dance (a.k.a. I hold her front paws up and wiggle her around like she is dancing).
Thanks guys! As of when I was leaving for work it seemed like it stopped leaking. I left the cups there just in case. Hopefully this doesn't happen ago tho I'm sure once spring hits we'll have some issues. I just wish this would have been first thing in the morning so I could have called in too work.

DH is gone tonight, which means I'll probably eat eggs.

DD is just over 7 months old and sleeps from approximately 7pm to 5am. Sometimes 4:30am. Sometimes 5:30pm. I'll give her a bottle and then we go back to sleep for another hour or hour and a half.
So, yeah. I know that 10 hours or so is not a bad stretch. But I would be giddy if she would wake up the first time at 6:15am. Will she start sleeping longer as she gets older? Or going to be a little later and waking up a little later?

Have you considred bumping back bedtime a little bit? When DD was about that age she went down about 8 and slept until closer to 6 then bottle and back to sleep. I found that she does sleep way longer now at 2. She goes down about 830 and up between 7 and 8.

She turns into Princess Fussypants at 7:05pm if she's not in bed. I might trying bumping it back again in a couple weeks and see if that helps.
I'm just glad to hear it generally gets longer as they get older. I mean, it's definitely an improvement over the newborn stage, but these 4:30am wake-ups are wearing me out. I can keep doing it (not like I have a choice or anything) and be okay with it as long as I know there's an end out there. Or if not a finite end, at least a gradual improvement.

Yea DD had a rough first few months with us we moved 3 times her first year, and for a while she would be up til 930 but would be miserable. Maybe once the summer hits and it's light out later you could try to convince her it's earlier than it is. lol. but sleep doers get better.

It is almost Daylight Savings Time, so what is now 7pm and 4:30am is about to be 8pm and 5:30am. I would start with not adjusting her for the clock change. If you still want to shift her later yet, go in small increments until she adjusts, even just 5 or 10 minutes per week or so if needed.
I have to start applying for jobs. And it is freaking me out. I know a lot about nursing but I don't know everything. This is just a profession where you CAN'T logically know everything, at least not right away, and you are constantly learning as the medical field changes. And I know anywhere I work will have intensive training and there are lots of jobs specific for new nurses in their first job so you have someone with you on your shifts for 12 weeks. But it still freaks me out. I know it is somewhat irrational but I the voice in my head is all "OMG what if you kill a person?!"
I think those are totally normal concerns. But you've got this, and I'm sure you won't kill someone.
I agree. It's just jitters, you'll do great once you find something!

I agree with this. DS is only three months older and this is around the time we started pushing back bedtime.
cam - thanks! I forgot about DST coming up. I think I'll make the switch then and see how it goes.
Figured that would give you an easy hour "adjustment" without actually having to adjust. I nearly forgot it was coming up too until I was scheduling something just after and realized, 'Oh, crap. That is going to further complicate the schedule.'

I agree that's a good stretch-- but that is super early to wake up for the day even with the morning nap-- does she nap other times for you during the day?
At that age, DD would do 12 hours-- no matter what time I put her to bed. However-- she was a crappy napper, so it was sort of give and take.
I agree to maybe try bumping back bedtime-- you could do it gradually-- maybe 15 minute increments? It's worth a try maybe.

She's a lousy napper. During the week at daycare she gets two 30-40 minute naps, sometimes more. She sleeps a little bit longer at home on the weekends. She seems happy and healthy, so I haven't fought for longer or more regular naps.
