Speaking of movies, has anyone seen "The Lobster"? I've read a description and it seems interesting, but it also sounds like it could be a weird flop. It's on Amazon prime now, so at least I wouldn't lose an money.
Need this headache to go away. I have to run to walmart with Ds2 while DH and DS1 are at a robotics club meet this morning. DS1 birthday is monday and I need wrapping paper and streamers and balloons for his room.
We got DS1 a new bike last night. He is almost 9 and doesn't know how to ride. He's been trying to ride his old bike but his knees hit the handlebars. We used to live on a hilly, busy road so it wasn't a priority. Now that we are on a flat, quiet street he really wants to learn. He has SPD so his balance is lousy. I told him that we will keep practicing every day but it might be summer before he gets the hang of it. I hope that his enthusiasm holds out.
DH fashioned a handle to attach to DD's bike that really helped when we were teaching her to ride. They do sell them too.

So, Reese's best friend came over at 9am for a playdate. They left by lunch.
I am looking the morning playdates because then in the afternoon it can be "relaxing" time or getting stuff done time. Reese always asks to do "fun things" and the playdate could be her one fun thing.
This evening we are going to visit my newest nephew--he just came home from the hospital yesterday. I am going to get all the baby snuggles.
Brought the kids to swim at the new rec centre. Turns out their online schedule was incorrect. Fortunately they had a drop in play group for a but and h and I checked out the fitness center.

Honestly, I might request my nieces come over and stay more often. They got the kids dressed, play with them and basically they all only talk to me when they are in need.
I got up, worked out, came home and ate breakfast, then took a nap. We have friends coming over in two hours so I really need to ge out of my bed and get moving.
I went to a barre class at a new place and the instructor said I am very flexible. Day made.
Depending on how old the kids are, I'd aim for 2ish hours for a first time playdate.
I wouldn't stay personally, but your comfort level and whether or not she invites you to stay would be the determining factors there.
They're in kindergarten.
I would text and say you mentioned getting kids together this afternoon do you have a time in mind. Then follow up with a blunt question can I drop and go to the store for an hour or so and then come back or do you want me to stay. Two hours sounds about right for lengthy if first play date
Any suggestions on a gift for a 6 year old girl around $25? DS's classmate gave him a $25 gc for his birthday and her bday is next week.
Barbie, legos, and shopkins are all popular.
Since they gave gift card I would be more inclined to buy different gc back if you don't think of something that's just right and don't know the girl at all
And before you wk her, she's the lady who said in response to the first time seeing my son "oh my god he looks just like (deceased first husband)".
That was probably a gut punch reminder but I wouldn't say it's unheard of for a relative to mention that someone looks just like xyz deceased member of the family.
I refrained from buying everything at Home Goods but I'm at Tuesday morning while our to go lunch is being made next door and I want to buy all the things. I'll probably make a thread later for decor help with my downstairs.
C hasn't had a fever today so we're rolling with outr day.
We went to a local restaurant owned by a Muslim Syrian immigrant. It was delicious. And busy! We have an action network that made a list of businesses owned by Muslim people in general as well as immigrants from the 7 banned countries, and supposedly they've seen a big uptick in business.

My child with another man looks like my first husband? I'd say that's uncommon. Eta: 1st husband died in 08. I married DH in 2012. We had DS in 2013. I had no children with exh.
