1. How was your week? Wins/fails?
2. What's the plan for next week?
3. Let's talk mental health. How do you keep stress at a manageable level, or do you? What are some musts in order for you to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family?
1. Mostly fails. I didn't get a real workout in because I was spending so much time with wallpaper removal. Did get in at least 4 walks to though! Eating was meh. Better on portions but still too much junk.
2. My plan is to exercise at least 4x and up my water intake more. I have so much weight in my belly and it's making me sad.
3. Exercising helps when I do it. The best thing for me is sort of to "check out" and read. I'm always calmer after reading a bit.
Sometimes when the kids are making me crazy I start drinking soda and then get the sads that I'm drinking soda :/
1. How was your week? Wins/fails? The week started off pretty good, then on Thursday I came down with some sort of awful stomach ailment rendering me completely useless for a full 24 hours. I decided to take a few days off from exercise - I was so weak from the whole thing and literally felt like I needed to gain some strength back before even thinking about exercise again.
2. What's the plan for next week? I got back into my routine this morning, 30 minutes on the elliptical before work, and I plan to do this every other morning, barring any more sickness.
3. Let's talk mental health. How do you keep stress at a manageable level, or do you? What are some musts in order for you to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family? Exercise definitely helps. It wakes me up and gets me going and helps me feel good about the day ahead (one of the reasons I prefer to work out early in the AM). I also try and take at least 30 minutes of just Kate time every night before bed. I like to unwind, watch something on Netflix (usually The Office or Parks and Rec) and just be.
2. Knee is swollen again as of Friday and I'm still limping today. I think I'm finally admitting this half marathon in March is not happening. I've got my meals planned out for rest of week and going to really try hard with diet and just stay off knee as much as I can for a while.
3. Um yeah. Mental health is not super great right now. I'm feeling an lot of stress and unmet expectations from every angle- including myself. Usually running helps fix this, but I can't do that. And then I start to spiral off worrying that this knee thing is serious and maybe I'll never be run again and that makes me so, so sad. I guess my mental health is too wrapped up with my physical health and I need to learn some new strategies. And also, this weekend, my mom gave me the very helpful advice that I need to go ahead and "lose that 15 or 20 lbs or whatever is you are carrying around." Thanks, mom. Hadn't thought of that.
1. Meh. Eating could be better and I could be working out more. I'm OK with the balance given everything else right now.
2. Figure out a few good kettlebell workouts- I got one for my birthday and am looking forward to having some new workouts. Be kind to myself is the other goal for this week.
3. I'm trying really hard to prioritize this and am still a hot mess. Stretching daily and a quick workout really do make me feel a lot better. I'm forcing myself to eat at least somewhat decent because I feel so rotten otherwise. I really need the 30 minutes or an hour at night to wind down. Hoping it warms up soon so we can go outside more. I see a definite correlation between my mood and being indoors too much.

1. I got 6 workouts and 2 Zumba classes in! My eating habits haven't been great, some cravings are hard to ignore. Looking at you Taco Bell and McDonanalds breakfast.
2. More of the same. 6 BBM workouts and 1-2 Zumba classes, and not over doing it on the fast food.
3. I usually just decompress during DS's nap time. Usually with a nap and/or catching up on TCF. Going to Zumba has been helpful too, I love dancing. Little things like that keep me happy.
I know everyone is in the same boat, but I just cannot figure out when to workout. I get up at 6 to get ready for work and any earlier than that would most likely kill me. I can barely make daycare pickup before close, so after work wouldn't work. By the time I get L to bed and eat dinner it is 8:30 and I just have no motivation left. And workout plus shower that late would have me in bed at midnight. I just need more hours in my day or something.
So that's how it's going.
My stress relief is honestly getting to sleep in on Sundays (you know, until 8 or something wild).
This week wasn't the best. My 6-week challenge was over and I got way lazy with my eating. I somehow gained back 4 lbs because my body is ridiculous. I did work out with my trainer 2x, though.
2. What's the plan for next week?
I wanted to get on track this week, but we never got around to grocery shopping yesterday. So I guess I'll go back on the challenge meal plan tomorrow. I'm also trying to figure out where to fit in cardio. I want to try to go for a run/walk when MH gets off work on days I'm not with my trainer, but I'm not sure how that will go. I wanted to go today, but it's raining. Thwarted on day one. Bah.
3. Let's talk mental health. How do you keep stress at a manageable level, or do you? What are some musts in order for you to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family? I don't know. I don't think I am keeping stress at a manageable level or taking care of myself or my family.
1. I finally started losing weight again. I was stuck for a couple of weeks. The rest of the week was a fail though. Not enough water, too many treats.
2. I'm not doing any fast food/take out this week and not even eating what I make for the boys. I'm also turning down treats at work. I did well with that today.
3. My grocery trips on Sunday mornings help, but I need time to do nothing on my own. I usually talk to a lady at work every afternoon and that venting helps so much. She could be my mom and I treat her as such. I hate days that she's out sick. Other than that, I don't do anything and I need to. Weeks like this week will do me in if I don't change something.

1. How was your week? Wins/fails? Win is I'm like 2 lbs from my 40 lb loss, fail is Girl Scout cookies. 2. What's the plan for next week? Eating healthy, focusing on that right now. 3. Let's talk mental health. How do you keep stress at a manageable level, or do you? What are some musts in order for you to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family? A bubble bath, reading, talking to god.
