Before I actually begin tackling work, I need to brag about my genius child - as we were getting in the car for day care, I handed him the waffle he refused to eat earlier in the morning, and unprompted, he said, "circle!" And then to top it off, we had a great drop-off at day care! And it's sunny and will be almost 50 today again! I'm hoping this is all a sign of good things to come this week

Been up since 4. J is sleeping on our flight currently:) she did awesome playing with stickers and crayons on our takeoff!!

Woohoo vacation! You know, so maybe I can actually get this disaster of a house back in order.

I think I'm going to take J to daycare today. I was originally planning on taking him to the museum, but I think we will do that tomorrow instead.

Back to the grind. My kids were in rare form yesterday so I have been enjoying the silence at work so far. I also slept really well last night vs. my usual Sunday night anxiety about the approaching work week.

I already had a Bustelo K-cup this morning, followed by a Venti Skim Iced Latte, because free drink reward, when I got to work.

I'm still tired.

And fed up with the babysitter. I just told her casually this morning tat we're decreasing his tv time daily to when he eats and to allow no more than an hour a day- it's still on all the fucking time. I'm going to just tell her we got a camera, particularly since he's having three different therapies weekly, and hope she doesn't quit on me. She just might quit though.

Good mornin'. I'm tired and I can tell it's going to be a long week, because even though I was up late last night, I still didn't get most of the things done I needed to for the week.

I have a feeling baseball practice is going to be cancelled again. And while I feel bad, because these kids need the practice, it'll be nice to get home a little earlier this evening.

Hi! Back to normal after H's/school week off last week. DS was so excited to get back to preschool today. It keeps getting progressively colder and colder over the last few days (it was -6F/-21C plus a decent windchill while dressing the kids to get him to school) so I'm looking forward to fake spring coming back, though I recently heard we are supposed to have a colder than average March. So I'll keep living vicariously through you being warmer than normal lol.

Nothing too exciting/out of the ordinary planned for the next few days, so weather coffee talk it is lol. I'm kind of just in surprised mode that it's almost March.

If she is blatantly ignoring your wishes...let her go. Or don't let her go. Your choice, really. But being fed up about it and NOT doing anything isn't going to make the situation any better.

I had made two or three separate comments to her in the mornings on how we were working on reducing his tv time, especially since he's behind in his speech and communication. She assured me she only had it on for him when he ate, however, this is the 3rd time she's ignoring my request completely.

I know I need to let her go, but he absolutely loves her, and he doesn't like a lot of people.  With some people, he will cry for extended periods of time, and we can't figure out the reason why.  She also is very sweet to him, but that doesn't negate the lying to me and not following through with my wishes - I know.

My last ditch effort is to just let her know we put in a camera, so that she just won't be able to leave it on.  I feel really bad having him get used to a new babysitter twice a week, since he's still getting used to his Speech, OT, and SI teacher.  Especially since daycare starts in September.  

Sorry in advance for being like a broken record on this topic.

Yep. Definitely a Monday over here. O busted his lip open as I was supposed to leave for work. He's fine but got blood all over me. I found it on my neck in a couple spots while driving to work. He also clawed my neck while screaming. I had to restring an instrument and the loops on the strings weren't large enough to fit. Hunted down needle nose pliers to fix the issue. Finally got the strings on and while tuning one popped off and caught my cheek. *grumble*
But tomorrow morning, I am playing hooky all by myself and that's all I can think about. That and the lessons I need to plan for this week.

billyhorrible and veggiemo, my fifth graders are supposed to 'identify differences in two performances of the same musical selection.' So I'm obviously using "Dear Theodosia" from the original soundtrack and the Mixtape. Yay for listening to music I enjoy while working!!

budders, I'm so glad the big boy bed is helping the sleep situation for V! Hoping you all feel better soon and can get some real rest, though.

I do have to add that he liked her instantly from the first day he met her.  And, this when she was completely "anti-tv" and told me what a terrible habit it was we created (having him refuse to eat unless cartoons were on). 

I will say that he either likes you right away and you're his best friend, or he is very very slow to warm up and it could take weeks for him to be cool with the new person.

Might as well check in now that I'm here! My morning was OK, kids were in a decent mood. DS has now had 7 consecutive days with a dry pull up in the morning! I think we are finally getting over the night time peeing! Took 2 years, OMG.

LO is also doing well, cute as can be. His latest thing is saying "look, look!" and points to whatever. He just wants us to see everything he sees, it's the most adorable thing. But he's also at that running off stage. I don't know if any of your kids are runners but both my kids are/were this way. DS has calmed down a lot in the last 6 months but LO just takes off any and everywhere. His little legs move so fast and he doesn't care if we are out of view, he's just going to keep on running.
