Morning! Hope everyone's Wednesday is off to a good start!
I, for one, am sick again. #5 this pregnancy. I feel like we as a group have had a ridiculous amount of sickness during our pregnancies - boo! So I called out today and am back in bed, hoping to get more sleep today than I did last night.
Wednesday Woes is right! My typical 45 min commute just took 2.5 hours thanks to a bad accident shutting down half the highway. Hopefully all involved are ok but man that was rough. DS was covered in milk by the time we got to daycare, clearly he was finding alternative ways to amuse himself. Happy Hump Day!!!
mcp6286 awwww feel better!! Yeah I definitely feel like as a group we've been sick a lot! 😝
AFM our contractors are still here and of course it's taking longer than I'd hoped. I just told him the hard deadline that it gets done by Friday. Because Saturday everything has to get cleaned up and we're moving all our furniture around (out of the nursery and into our room). Ugh construction lol. We also bought a wall mount for our TV and just learned it won't work. ☹️

We're supposed to have severe storms again today so I guess we're hunkering down this afternoon after play group. The clouds match my mood and DS is being a grouch so this should be an interesting morning.
March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb right?!

Good morning ladies! I'm here at work listening to my co-workers talk about how awesome Trump's speech was last night. I really need to bring in some headphones so I can start drowning out all the chatter. I really wanted to call out today because I just wanted to stay in bed but I pretty much can't take any time off between now and maternity leave if I want to come back from leave with any PTO at all. It sucks. My birthday is in a few weeks (ugh) and MH asked me what I want. I told him I just want a weekend to myself. To sleep, lounge on the couch, basically just be a lazy bum. Oh, and a maid.
rosesquared, Hope the contractors get done on time. We're doing our furniture move around on Saturday too. I'm bribing friends with food since I'm pretty useless at moving large pieces of furniture up and down the stairs.
lupincat, We're getting those tonight. Should be fun!
Indian food and company was a lot of fun last night. Food could have been spicier, but the onion chutney fixed that issue. I'm still full though, definitely over ate.... Oh well, worth it!
My birthday isn't for a while, but I'll take one of those gifts too sleepymonkey! and I couldn't even bring myself to watch the speech last night. I am however enjoying the response from the Kentucky governor this morning :-)
DD1 has a rash...full body....no other symptoms except a cough....I think it's viral (and have compared it to every google picture I could find!) but have mom-guilt for not taking her to the doctor and sending her to school
jennyelf we probably could have bribed friends to help us Saturday but our staircase is tricky so I thought hiring movers for an hour would be easier. I definitely am not carrying heavy things at this point!! Glad your Indian food was good!!

Hiring people is also a valid option! Plus they tend to be stronger and know how to move things efficiently. Hope the moving goes well!
sleepymonkey, Those sound like very reasonable and desirable birthday requests.
chknma, I too skipped the speech. I'll catch the recap via NPR website where I won't have to listen to 45's voice.

jennyelf, even if I agreed with everything he said, I still could not stand to listen to him. His voice and mannerisms just irk me so much and always have. I'll have to get the rundown from MH tonight because I know he watched.

Yeah I couldn't watch last night either. Part of me wanted to or felt like I should but DW had no interest. I'm scared that he came across more normal and that he's starting to put on a show to get more folks on his side...

I'm sick over here. Just constantly nauseous and some diarrhea. I'm having trouble eating because nothing sounds good. H is sick too so he's staying home today. So it's nice having some company and someone to help with DS.

I have officially lost all work motivation. The last few weeks I had so much energy and I was working more hours than I had to - then a few days ago the fatigue and just general apathy towards work crawled back in and now I just want to lay on the couch and binge some Netflix

txcatlady yeah my rings have been tighter for a while but I'm trying to wear them as long as possible. It makes me so sad to think about not being able to wear them!

My wedding rings are noticeably tighter today 😕I might have to stop wearing them soon.
My stepmom is ordering the baby shower invites today! She loves party planning so I'm super excited to see what she ends up doing.
I have a cheap plain band from DS1 when my fingers and knuckles got too big to wear my wedding set. It was like 8 weeks postpartum until I could get my rings back on too, so that might be an option if you feel naked without your rings, I know I do!

That's good to know! I didn't know how long it would be before my rings fit again. I'll have to get something because I definitely feel naked without my rings.
txcatlady it depends on the person. I was back in my ring by 4 weeks PP after DS1.
Confession: I stopped wearing my rings about ten weeks ago. I keep forgetting to put them on in the morning... not pregnant, I wear them 24/7 but I have to remove them at night when pregnant due to swelling

Luckily I had sized up my rings right before I got pregnant and they were a little big to begin with so I haven't have to stop wearing them. But I definitely notice them on my finger and take them off the second I get home. With DD, I bought a cheap band 5 "diamonds" in it that I wore. I think I was back in my actual rings by 2 weeks PP.
DH had to be at work super early (before daycare was open) So I had to get up today to take DS to daycare. DH got him up and got his breakfast ready though. DS was super happy when I got up

Our nursery furniture is coming tomorrow and I'm so excited. I can't wait to put the bedding on and see how it looks. Do you think 8 weeks before is too early to put on the crib sheet?
sleepymonkey, I'd probably put the sheet on, but my cats haven't discovered the bed portion of the crib yet (they just squeeze under it right now). If they do decide to get in the crib I'd just wash it when it gets closer to the due date.
DH just texted me that 2 people he works with (out of like 10ish) have come down with the flu this week....here's to hoping what they have is one of the strains the shot covered this year 😬 I do not want to get that... it took me over 2 weeks to get rid of a cold I picked up at work

txcatlady, my cats are too fat and lazy to jump into the crib. I think one of them jumped in DD's crib once and that was it. But their hair floats around the whole house so I'm sure it will make its way into the crib. It's nothing to wash the sheet though so I'll probably put it one and then wash it once baby boy comes.
At OB and been waiting almost an hour in the room... my appt was supposed to be 1 hr 15 ago...
Woah! That's running REALLY late! I hope they get to you soon.
they did, finally. The rn who I always see there was super sweet and apologetic, checked on me twice. But the OB (she's new) didn't even mention it. Like, come on lady.
