I was in BRU because DS's shoes are falling apart and he needs new ones in his current size (I'm all set on the next size but his feet aren't big enough for them). I ask the front if they would have any in the back after finding one pair with a hard top on a rack, 4 sizes too big (we prefer the hard tops in the front for this kid)... her response: "I don't know. We might but our back is a mess, and there's a bunch of boxes in front of the shoes. So, we couldn't get to them if we did." Me: "ugh, his shoes fell apart and he needs new ones so.." Her: "you could try again next week!"
No, I can't. He needs shoes for school tomorrow. Waiting a week is not an option. You could have at least gone on the computer and checked if you had them or if one of the other stores in the area had them.
Yes, I'm irrationally annoyed over this
Would have killed them. Did you go to the one by my work? They suck so much.
No, the other one. I can't decide which one I hate more, actually. They both suck horribly
marshianwannabmama exactly! I don't like that particular store but it usually has the best stock of shoes (the others in the area are combo TRU/BRUs). It would have taken her two minutes to see if the other locations had them or if they had inventory in the back. I seriously have an issue with this particular store every time I'm in it
If they had them at the combo store I could have picked them up on my way home!
I almost took the long route home after picking up DS to swing by the one near your job just on the chance they had it. Sigh. I found a pair but I'm not happy with them. I hate full canvas for DS with the way he runs them into the ground

Well the toll booths were incredibly backed up on my way home. 5 car pile up on the on ramp and then the exit to head towards you was backed up.

I've been loving natives for my kid both because they seem pretty indestructible and because they don't absorb water so I can dry then off and immediately reuse. But that matters more because my kid refuses to walk in boots still so she wears regular shoes even when it's wet out.
While reorganizing the office I discovered my oldest scrapbook had mold on the back cover. So gross. I tossed it (I have copies of the photos and I made it in high school so it was not the most amazing). But of course now my skin is crawling. I haven't found a trace of mold anywhere else. It's very odd.

Oh no that's sad. I'm sorry you had to toss it.
I regret tossing it less than now wondering if we have random mold somewhere else and I just haven't found it yet.

I was watching something with H and it cut out...so now I'm watching this and he's playing video games. Ah, romance.
I really wasn't watching a lot of TV lately but for some reason this mindless TV is relaxing. I'm trying to put together a list of TV shows to binge on mat leave.
A little exhausted, anxious and nauseous tonight. Heading out around the block with just the pup and hoping the light exercise, silence, and fresh air will help.

setsuna17 one of my friends moved to North Carolina and got basically a beach adjacent mansion for the same amount as her large but modest home here.
And where I grew up you get another bedroom and bathroom plus a basement and more property for the equivalent of our house here in NorCal.
I didn't realize you were a NorCal person. I'm in SoCal, but housing is much the same, I think.
When we bought our house we used money we inherited to pay the mortgage down. We literally could have bought two houses in cash in Arkansas where my mom lives. But we just couldn't give up our lifestyles. Lol.
SoCal is worse. We paid just under 200 for this place and it's tiny and not in a great school district. But we're building equity to move in a few years.
