Freaking out a little, baby girl has a temp of 100.4 she is acting normal, maybe a bit more clingy, but not much, she is teething and has a bit of a cold. We are supposed to fly 8 hours to Canada on Saturday. Please tell me it's still ok.
Sorry to quote myself but I wanted to add that she has been this high before and all was ok. And the dt says not even to give paracetamol unless its higher. I am just so nervous about going on a plane with them to begin with.

I'd get her checked today or tomorrow to make sure there's no ear infection because you don't want to fly or be on vacation with that! But if they say that is all clear then I wouldn't worry too much. DS has had a few fevers over the months that break into nothing the next day.

It's okay. Promise.
Give her some ibuprofen or tylenol and the fever should come down. Fevers are common with teething and the early days of a cold.
Our pediatrician also told us some generalizations about fevers. If they go up and stay up, then it's probably bacterial (like, the temp is 102, comes back down with meds, but shoots back up to 102 after the meds wear off and this pattern is repeated for a day or two). If they go up, come back down, change temps during the day, etc, then it's probably viral (as in, it's 100 and you give some meds then she's fine the rest of the day, overnight you notice she has a fever again so you treat and she's fine for another 12 hours before something low grade reappearing, etc).
I say this only to help you decide if a trip to the pediatrician before your trip for antibiotics are necessary.

Decided to just go to the dr. I know I will just worry if I don't and I don't need more stress with the flying. I will keep ypu posted. Thanks though feeling a bit calmer, maybe.

We had a rough night. His coughing was bad, made me nervous a few times. Thought I heard some wheezing. I called the docs this morning sure that I was just being paranoid but they told me to bring him over. Turns out he's got bronchiolitis and a double ear infection. Antibiotics for the ears, an inhaler with mask for the chest. Poor bear

Is 100.4 with fever reducing meds or without. It should be fine. Our daycare rules are anything over 100.4 with fever reducing meds you can't attend or get sent home. And you only need to be fever free for 24 hours. Hopefully by Sat hopefully it's down. Also is that temp in the afternoon or morning? Sometimes fevers go up in afternoon.
Edit that I see you went to dr. Always better to be safe.

Hope he feels better. I was worried I was being paranoid when I took DS in last week. They heard the wheezing and the nebs helped a lot.

So its a virus, so nothing they can do. As long as it stays the way it is, the doctor said its not a problem to go and maybe juat give them some paracetamol before we get on the plane and before we land to help with ear pain. Please pray it doesn't get worse. I need to get on that plane!

Fx the trip goes well and the virus dies down quickly. I know you've really been looking forward to this for awhile!

I pulled a neck muscle last night when sleeping and feel miserable today.
But I did bake some bran muffins that are super tasty:)
I need to quit my job. Anyone have any suggestions? How do I do it? I don't have a catalyst other than I want to stay home. When do I decide is the right day to do that? I may need to get drunk to do it.

I did it without another a job lined up. I built up my courage, went in the office, and said "I think it's time for me to move on. I'm going to finish up these few things first, of course."
When asked the inevitable "What will you do next?" I responded with "I'm actively looking for a job back in the city that involves x, y, and z." You could say "I'm ready to be home with my baby!"

Have you and your SO already determined this is a good, viable transition for your family? Sorry if you talked about this before and I missed it. That would be the first thing I'd have to hammer down is how all the finances and insurances and all that jazz would shake out.
After that, it would just be at least two weeks before you would like to finish working. I've had a lot of good responses (despite sad responses) from bosses about leaving after a large project is completed, so they aren't left high and dry in the middle of something. Another good time is during a transition period; in my case, between school quarters/semesters. If your fiscal year end is soon (like at the end of June), I would want to be gone no later than then.
Just write up a quick and dirty resignation letter, saying that you are leaving because of a lifestyle change that benefits your family. Leave the bridge tidy and in well-repair, so hopefully you can walk out with a good networking relationship for your future, should you decide to reenter the workforce.
I'd pick a Friday to hand that letter in/have a meeting with my boss. That way they can panic over the weekend and still have a good amount of time to find a solution or replacement for your position. I feel like handing it in midweek or on a Monday would make people feel more trapped/panicky without having a down day or two to mentally sort through the transition.

Thanks for the support guys. Almost had a panic attack when I saw the temps. Just get me on that plane thats all I want now.
coffeequeen14, good luck, quitting is always hard. But you are moving on to the best job! I always just pulled the bandage off fast. I was always honest. Of course I never had to quit for bad reasons. And you are not either. It will all be fine. G

Rama that was helpful. Thanks:) yes H and I have talked about it for....months:) he wants me to quit yesterday but I have been dragging my feet because I like working. Also, nanny's H was it of work for a while so I didn't want to quit and leave their family in a lurch. Well he now has a job so I can quit whenever. I just don't have a catalyst. I agree I need to leave on a good note in case I want to come back.
Luckily I work virtually so I don't need to look my boss in the face.
joy thanks as well. I will have a response to that question in advance because I'm sure it will come. What gave you the gumption to be able to quit without another job? Like how did you choose the day?

I was extremely unhappy - so unhappy that I quit without another job lined up. I'd been there two years, I finished a lot of projects and was working towards the end of a huge one. I told my boss that I would move on when that project was done.
I was reaaaaaally nervous. I knew I would say something that particular week but I waited for a moment that it felt right. I know that's weird, but you feel different things on different days, ya know? That day, I felt good. It felt right. coffeequeen14,

Breaking up is never easy.
I guess just be prepared to handle the scenarios of them trying to convince you to stay part time, offering more money etc. and how you would respond. It will hopefully be easier remotely. In a way. Good luck!
M woke up at midnight SCREAMING and would not settle. He is my chill baby so it was really stressful. After trying a lot of things we figured out that his nose is so stuffed that he can't breathe with the paci in, but he wanted his paci. We cleared out his nose and I nursed and now he is much happier. So happy, in fact, that he thinks it's time to jump and play rather than sleep.
bocaburger, glad ypu found a solution. Its a bit nerve warcking DS does that too sometime with a cold. A bottle always helps clear the nose too, I find.

Sooo.... I have been feeding DD2 about a half a piece of toast along with morning breastfeeding for breakfast time.
Today, on a hunch after the toast VANISHED, I mixed up some fruit and baby cereal and fed her most of a few ounces before she started refusing. Offered her a sippie with water just to try the sensation and she was all for it.
I feel like I have been starving her! Every time I think to offer more solids, she noms them right down. She is so big, all my instincts for my first are failing me since DD1 was so much smaller.

You haven't. If she was starving, she would've been crying, begging to nurse, etc. Don't beat yourself up.
This morning she was hungry! You are listening to her and now you can try to offer her more in the morning and see what happens. Today could have been a one-off or today was the beginning of more!
