DS2 is on Prevacid he's a mess and we can't figure out what to do for his stomach. Does anyone take any other ppi? How do you like it any tips? I'm going to request a change Monday.

I think Prevacid and Nexium may be the only options for LO's besides ranitidine. Or at least those are the only ones I've seen dispensed for kids. I could be wrong, though.

DS2 is on nexium 5 mg once a day. He tried Zantac first, but it didn't help very much. The nexium hasn't fully fixed the problem, but it's definitely helped. We saw a GI doctor for the first time on Monday, and he's having an upper GI series x-ray done on Monday. She's keeping the nexium the same for now until we get the scan results and make some other dietary changes.
I'm sorry your LO is having a hard time. It's so stressful. 😔

Both boys are on Nexium. They are on 10mg and it is oral suppressiom, so they take it an hour before dinner. They started on Zantac and it did nothing. So far we have only had one day where the Nexium didn't fully work.
How long did everyone give the Zantac before asking for something else? We finished day 5 of it and it's clearly doing nothing.
Our doctor said to give it a week. After a week, they told me the max dose that I could give for his weight. We increased the dosage every other day until we reached the max dose. We tried the max dose for a week before switching to nexium.

We had E on Zantac and just moved her over to Prevacid. I don't see much difference yet but it wasn't so bad when she was on doses of Zantac a day. It's only been 4 days though.
