On the train, sipping a latte. Pretty good start to the day.
Yesterday was awesome. We had a big celebration at work for International Women's Day including free copies of some great books by feminist authors. Then we got to have a sneak preview of our fall merchandise (save your pennies, willing to ship to American friends! It's so beautiful)!
Plus I had my performance review for the year and my boss was over the moon happy with me. Which was a big relief. At any given time since I returned to work I've felt like I was failing at work, or at momming or at being a wife. It meant a lot to have my hard work acknowledged.
And to top it all off, DH and I had a really nice evening together. No TV. Just spending time. That hasn't happened in ages.
I discovered Clothes Mentor and am in LOVE. All high end name brand only clothing that's consignment and practically brand new! Here is a gorgeous Ann Taylor dress that I only paid $14 for.

Good morning ladies! I don't have much planned today. G and I are playing reading books right now. After dinner I have to head out to work for a few hours.
We are having gas logs installed today. I made the appt for 830 so they would hopefully be finished by nap time because it takes 4 hours. Well, they had an emergency this morning so they'll be a couple of hours late. Great. Hopefully nap time isn't totally ruined.
I'm also meeting with the contractor who's doing our kitchen remodel today. We are planning on having it done this summer. DH was on board until I gave him a reality check about how much it's going to cost. We need to do it though. Our kitchen sucks.

Hello. No plans yet again today. I want to get out of the house with K and R but the weather sucks for walking (too windy) and I'm too scared to go out in public with a monster toddler and 1 month old.
Dinner and bedtime will be solo missions again tonight. I am exhausted just thinking about it. And I have no idea what I'll make to eat.
Me: Are you being crazy over there? DS: I so crazy!
Lol-ing for days over here
Toddlers are so silly that it just cracks me up. I had an itch on my knees this morning. I scratched it. When I was done, G came over and scratched me knee too. Umm thanks I guess. Lol
Hi frands. Hoping today is just a non eventful day. I need one of those.
Got all my daycare visits scheduled and I'm getting excited to see them.
Only problem is they are all more $$$ than what we pay now. One is fairly close to what we pay so I'm hoping that one works out. Naturally it also has a waiting list and we're #4 on it. The lady seemed optimistic that there would be a spot at one of their two locations so we'll see.

I think G is getting her 2yo molars. She hasn't been quite her self for two days now. She is usually a great eater and she just completely refused the lunch I gave her. I switched it to something else. She refused that too. I had to give her yogurt and cold fruit from the fridge to get her to eat.

Frozen peas right from the freezer have been a big hit at our house.
Hi, still battling sleep issues here. Atm it's not quite 6am and I'm sitting on the couch while ds is taking up my side of the bed. He woke around 4:30 and by 5:30 I gave up on sleep. t least he went to bed at a reasonable time last night.
After 15 months of gently reminding/ following H around closing baby gates at the top of our basement stairs I finally just lost it on him. We're lucky that W stays up here but it only takes one time of feeling adventurous for something bad to happen. Plus who knows how the new baby will be.
His response: " do you know how many times I'm annoyed when it's closed?"
WTF. This is a part of being a parent of young kids, and it takes like next to no effort to open a freaking walk through gate. Get over it. There's like 57483923956 inconvenient things about being a parent, keeping our kid from cracking her head open on the basement floor is not one of them.
