Question... this kiddo spits up. DS1 never did. Like, ever. Is spit up ever a concern? He's always happy and then just blurp, spit up everywhere. I'm not suspecting reflux. Also, how on earth do you deal with all the laundry it causes?!
DD1 was a happy spitter, too. She never fussed or had any real feeding problems related to it. It's just one of those things. I think it tapered off around six months. It is annoying having spitup on practically everything in the house, though. At least nothing is wrong, just gross. You could ask your pedi about reflux if you suspect it just to be on the safe side.

wildflower810 also re: spitting, we kept a bucket of water with a little detergent in it on top of the washer so we could just throw in a nasty outfit if we didn't have time to wash it immediately. Kept stains from setting in. Also jealous flyinghorses6! I have also about 15 lbs to pre-preg weight. Everything will work out for the best musicallyinclined. I hope it's not too stressful of a situation!
We've never done anything to prep for time changes. Maybe we are #blessed that DS handles them okay? The first few nights take some adjustments, but then he sorts himself out.
I would never, ever skip nap in favor of an earlier bedtime. Sleep begets sleep, and I am a nap nazi. I've also found, at least with DS, that his bedtime is pretty set, and putting him to bed early if he didn't have a nap doesn't really work.
My kids are better at skipping a nap than being woken up before they do naturally. They are flexible about bedtime based on how tired they are.

I'm used to doing laundry only once a week! I knew it would increase... but gosh. DS2 also has very few newborn outfits so multiple changes a day is stretching us a bit.

I do a load of laundry a day and don't have a spitter! But I'm kind of weird about laundry separation, and we also have cloth diapers to wash. Plus folding one load of laundry per day is easier than all the laundry at once.
And flyinghorses6 - I'm seriously hating you. Two and a half pounds?! That's crazy! I've got 15 to go to my prepregnancy weight. Ugh boo
[
Don't worry, this is me too. I'm a good 10-15 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight. Making matters worse is that weight was about 15-20 pounds over my ideal since I was really out of shape from all the fertility crap.
FFFC, my H does most of the laundry. I'm not planning on anything special for DST this year- I'm just going to put my toddler to bed and pray for the best. I can't remember if anything different happened last time...

Am I doing something wrong that I'm only doing baby laundry like once a week? We have lots of clothes (mostly gifted to us), and right now she's sort of in between sizes so she's wearing some newborn and some 0-3. But we only change her clothes during the day if there's been a diaper explosion. She doesn't normally spit up on her clothes. She dribbles milk from her bottle down her chin but it's not too bad. Am I letting my child sit in filth or something?
flyinghorses6 what kind of car seat do you have and how much does k weigh? If you want to keep her rear facing there are some affordable seats that go to 40 pounds rear facing.

I'm so confused!! She's 25 lbs
Your choice to rear or forward face from 22 lbs to 40 lbs. Either is considered safe on that photo. IIRC, most convertible seats rear face to at least 40 lbs.
Pictures went really well. I can't wait to see them!
I have 5 more lbs. to go before I get to my pre-pregnancy weight but like 20 to go after that to get to my ultimate goal. Just need to try to eat healthy. So hard to do with nursing cravings.
DH gets up and changes him while I get ready to feed him. Works fine for us but I do feel myself getting annoyed that he immediately gets to go back to sleep after changing him.
ETA: She just sent me this one she snapped on her iPhone. Can't wait to see the ones on the camera!

oldbaylover1024, I'm in an almost identical boat. MOTN, I pump, prepare the bottles, cleanup the nursery, and DH does everything else usually.
I feel less guilt about it than I used to. In general we're really good about divvying up baby tasks and if I had to do everything myself i would get no sleep.

For the MOTN feedings, DH has done most of them while I pump and it's worked well. We each take one feeding off to try to get some solid sleep now that we EP. Last night didn't work since I was wired from the midnight feeding. As soon as I went to bed around 1am, I smelled something burning. After determining it was not coming from the house, I then saw a haze from outside. Apparently, a car caught on fire a few houses down but it made this new mom panic for a couple of minutes.
R had his 2-week checkup today and he has gained 11 ounces since birth and is almost 8 pounds! That also means we do not have to get him up every 3 hours at night anymore! Wahoo!
In regards to laundry, we need to do a load every other day since we do not have many newborn outfits.

I don't think so! L never spits up and I only change him if he pees on himself during a diaper change. He is actually still in his outfit from yesterday and I won't change it until bedtime.

So OB says definitely not mastitis and doesn't look like thrush. Likely just engorgement pains and I need to make sure I pump on a consistent schedule, hot compresses, etc.
He wrote me a script for thrush just in case the pedi says E has it, but he really doesn't think that's what it is.

I do a load of laundry every day, but that covers *all* our laundry. Colds (H and I), warms (H and I), baby, DS, towels and sheets, and then 2/3 loads of diaper laundry.

flyinghorses6 that IS confusing. FFFC, DS1 has that same seat, I don't think I ever read the "warning" section, I just go by the picture.
I EBF and I do everything in the middle of the night. Diaper change takes like 30 seconds plus DH is working and I'm on maternity leave, so it doesn't make sense to me to wake him up. If LO doesn't go back down after eating in the motn on a weekend, I will wake him up for help- but that's rare.
Very jealous of those so close to pre pregnancy weight. I gained almost 40 pounds and 20 fell off right away, but now I haven't lost anything in about 2 weeks. I should probably watch what I eat better, but I have no will power when it comes to food. I'm great about my exercise, but not with food.

If he's spitting up everything - like exorcist style - a few times a day, call the pedi. If it's a little spit up, like a teaspoon to tablespoon, it's normal.
And we do a load of laundry a day (at least). Is this not normal for a family of four, including a spitty newborn?
I hope this is normal-I def have a load a day. I feel more like a housekeeper than a mom lately. I spend all my free time cleaning and doing laundry. I'm starting to think dh should be paying me for the gaps in my salary while I'm out with how much I'm getting done! 😏
dancerspose I do not change for every single spit up. Only if it was bad enough to make the onesie wet.
I have never done laundry just once a week. Even when I was a single lady.
flyinghorses6 you can RF till 40lbs with that seat. You can't FF until 22lbs. The other thing to be aware of is that you can only use LATCH until a certain weight. I don't know what that weight is off the top of my head. (We also have a nextfit.)

I'm within 5 pounds of pre-pregnancy weight. I think those last 5 will be the hardest to take off. My pre-pregnancy clothes fit differently, but I expected they would.
I'm not super worried about losing the weight right now. I'm more focused on making sure everyone is fed, rested, and showered within three day increments lol.

I agree. I wish I was much closer to my pre pregnancy weight. But I'm more concerned with making sure I am eating enough to be producing enough mil (also food is good, see previous post about will power). I am however making it a priority to exercise, but that's because it makes me feel good and like myself.
