😂😂😂 babywisher. Yes, everyone I know was complaining about how freezing it was. I was like "um, you do know that in the NE they are declaring actual state of emergency because they're getting at least a foot of snow, right?!" Am I recalling correctly that you're on the North Shore? Y'all are usually a good 5-10 degrees colder than the South Shore.
Sitting at Quest getting my glucose test on. Hope I pass this sucker. 🤞I do not want to do the 3 hr
May the odds be ever in your favor
Thanks!! I'm not holding out hope since I had GD with my son. I guess we'll see though. I'm hoping they'll call and tell me one way or the other before the end of the week.
I've been randomly buying diapers since our 8w appt to try and help build a stash and spread out the costs. I'm hoping BFing works out this time so we don't have the cost of diapers plus formula. We'll probably combo feed but hopefully it won't be the sole source of nutrition for 2.0
And maybe one day DS will actually PT and we can get him out of diapers.

Our next door neighbor and her 7 year old daughter were over on Saturday morning. Yesterday, the 7 year old was diagnosed with the flu. I have a sore throat that started last night.
Should I call to see if I can get some preemptive tamiflu or wait to see if further symptoms pop up?

Is anyone else getting anxious/excited/nervous on what the baby will look like? I know it's super trivial, but I had a lot of random thoughts last night while dealing with insomnia.

I'm all about getting ahead of a possible sickness.
Crisco Salad I agree, I'd get ahead of it, just in case. At least call and get the prescription because the window for starting Tamiflu is so short.
easilyunamused I can't wait to see what baby looks like! I'm nervous because I know I've judged other people's babies before... And my mom is bad about it. I keep telling her we're going to karmically make my baby look funny. But I'm mostly just excited.
I just found out yesterday that we have to use disposables at daycare. I haz sads.
But, why? What reason are they giving you?
She didn't give any reasons, it's just in their parent handbook. I don't think they're required to accommodate cloth in our state. (I do plan to check on this, though.)
When I interviewed with her, she said they had never had a baby in cloth before, so she was unsure of how it would work and if they would have the space to store the diapers, if it would be compliant with how they're required to store soiled clothing, etc. I think she was also thinking it would require extra work (like rinsing or something). My initial plan was to wait until he's born and show her how easy it is to use an AIO, how she can just throw it in a wetbag and send it home, and see if she'd be open to it.
But I went and picked up the handbook and paperwork yesterday and there's a section in there about diaper changing. I don't have it in front of me, but it says something along the lines of "disposable diapers are required".
Long story short, I've had quite the saga with daycare this week, and we almost ended up losing our spot. She's an in-home provider with a HUGE waitlist and can afford to be picky about who she takes. I 1000% want him to go to her, so I'm willing to concede on this one thing if I have to, but I am pretty bummed about it. I may still wait until after he's born and take him in a AIO and show her how it works and see if she'd be open to it. But I was sad to read that their handbook said that disposables are required.

akraus2015 - Every DC we toured for DS was open to cloth diapering, even if they didn't currently have a single child in cloth. Since she's in home, I get her just not wanting to and being able to tell you no though.
My mom had points to redeem and used them to buy me like 7 packages of diapers- 5 for new baby and 2 for DS. We also picked up a pack of diapers at Costco because they were on a great sale. I really hope Huggies works as well for this baby as they did for DS, although every diaper we tried on DS seemed fine.

akraus2015 I believe there are only one or two states what have specific requirements about cloth in daycare. If she is licensed by the state, she needs to adhere to those rules.
I totally get it though. I would definitely bring some aios or pockets with you and show her it's the same, except it's less waste for her because she isn't throwing away your kids diapers every day! We sent a backpack with clean diapers and a wetbag every day for J when he was in diapers. At the end of the day, I would bring the backpack and wetbag home. On wash days, I would just refill with clean diapers and send it all back together.
Be aware that putting cloth on babies is slightly different that disposables and we had quite a bit of trouble at our first center with teachers putting them on wrong and creating leaks.

Crisco Salad We went on a cruise a couple of years ago and had to buy disposables for dd. It made me so depressed to buy them because they are so darn expensive!
akraus2015 I hope you can talk her into using cloth!
I'm just sitting here watching Fixer Upper and finishing up leftovers from supper last night. I have about 30 minutes before I have to wake up my two Littles and go get the big from school.
It was a new recipe I tried. Honey garlic chicken. It was so good.

Yeah, I think she's just worried because it's just her and her husband, and they of course have a little bit of a smaller space physically. But we'll see...she may come around.
I'm the worst about watching videos. I'd rather read or be told in person. I know there's that 6 part video series that they have tagged on the cloth diaper forum. But I can't bring myself to watch it. 😆

I've done quite a bit of in person tutorials for people. I love cloth diapers!
The video is like 2 minutes, and really worth watching. The 6 part series is very good, but long.

Ok I watched it cause it said 2 minutes. Haha it makes sense! And yes, the other one just seems like a lot to watch. Thanks!

My mom's been doing this too! Anytime she has any kind of coupon she uses it...now that we've got DD on the way diapers are now included 😁 stashing them bit by bit in different sizes is smart though, especially bulk from Costco! We don't plan to use cloth diapers and we're well aware of how expensive diapers can get when things are already tight!

Babymoon booked! Found a super affordable and really nice airbnb in DC! Only 6 miles away from the White House so pretty central to the city! Hoping that the cherry blossoms will be in full bloom and we'll have some nice warm weather ☺👍

I have a question for STMs. When you gave birth, and waiting for your milk to come in, did the hospital supplement with any formula they had on hand? Where you able to bring the formula you'd like to give the baby and use that instead?
