So DS kicks me out of his room when he's getting dressed now because he likes to do everything all by himself and needs his privacy I guess? lol he shuts the door and everything. So I got his jeans down for him and he said "ok go" and I left and his little monkey see monkey do sister watched that, ran into her room where I was also pulling jeans out, yelled "go!" So I left, and she shut the door behind me and I just went and checked on her and she got her jeans on all by herself! (Albeit backwards but still).
It just kind of is crazy to me because DS just recently started wanting to get dressed all on his own, he just had no interest to care what he was wearing and it wasn't high on his list of daily importance I guess baha. This could be life changing if I have two kids that want to get dressed on their own! (Not that I'm holding my breath for L figuring it all out much too soon haha)
tiffbot, my mom likes to remind me often that I started dressing myself when I was two while shouting 'I do it myself!'
O woke up around 3:30 this morning. I think his arm hurt but he kept happily chattering with himself. He must have dozed a bit more because I didn't get him up until 6 but I swear every time I fell back asleep he'd start talking.
Went to the pediatric orthopedist this morning. He has a teeny tiny buckle fracture that should easily heal by our check-up in 3 weeks. He's not allowed to go to playgrounds or playplaces right now, we have to lift him more from the waist, and need to watch him more closely when he's with other kids but otherwise no restrictions. The doctor let us try a sling thinking that it might be a good visual cue to other kids to be careful but he wanted nothing to do with it.
Thank you all for your kind and supportive words the last few days. I have greatly appreciated them.

I just got back from taking lunch to my very pregnant BFF in the hospital. She's there right now because they're monitoring her blood pressure - she's at 34 + 1 right now and she's convinced they're getting ready to deliver her, they've been concerned about her blood pressure for some time now. So fingers crossed she gets to keep her little boy cooking at least another week or so, but EEP! I'm also so excited to meet this baby now that his arrival is imminent! She's already had steroid shots to help his lungs, and he's weighing in around 5 lbs right now (give or take, obviously), so he should be fine with hopefully minimal NICU time. Also, she's at the same hospital I had DS, and HOLY COW the memories that came flooding back being on the labor and delivery floor!

jessila, that sounds like good news for O's arm! I hope it heals as quickly as the doctor said, and hope you're all enjoying some good naps - sounds like they're needed for mommy and kid!

Lol tiffbot that's adorable! DD isn't to clothes yet but she has a pair of hot pink hunters that she will put on and wear any time she can get her hands on them. Turned around on Saturday and she was wearing them over her jammies!

Not looking forward to this weekend. DH has his drill which is from Friday to Sunday so he'll be gone 2 nights. NBD I know in comparison to what we've been through. But, meh.
I am not loving our speech therapist. She's cut the past two sessions short by almost 10 minutes, and they're only 30-minute sessions to begin with. And, she said M's functional communication was between the 8-12 month age range on his progress report, which I don't think is a fair estimate at all. I have the sadz.

Is there anyone to complain to? Missing 1/3 of a session is a huge deal.
Do you think she over or under estimated his communication level?
It's her first year as a speech therapist out of grad school and I don't want to get her in that kind of trouble. I'm going to let it go as long as she doesn't do it again. If it happens again, I will ask for a replacement. I guess I thought she under estimated his level...but it could be my hopes instead of realistic expectations. I thought he was closer to the 12-15 month range if anything because he is associating words with gestures more so now.
E had another seizure yesterday when H picked him up from DC. He's been pretty miserable today and was awake from 3-5 this morning. He just wants to be held, so this morning I showed him how to make my coffee (keurig). The second cup he was able to make by himself, so at least there's that!
Happy March Madness to anyone following the tourney! Being home today has at least let me watch a few games.
holliberry28, I've learned that if you want something to happen/change you just need to speak up. If you want the therapist there for 30 mins, tell her that or nothing is going to change. If you have expectations then state those, especially if your paying for these sessions. Since she's new, she needs to hear this feedback in order for her to grow and develop as a therapist, it's the only way for her to learn. I'd be pissed if I was just replaced without first hearing feedback about what I was doing wrong and given a chance to change it and make it right.
