Damn quad stroller broke while we were at the mall. I had to borrow tools from the bike counter at Dick's Sporting Goods to disassemble part of it and pry part of it with a key to fold it so it would fit in the car. That company is going to get an ear full and had better replace or refund our purchase if we can't fix it. We've only been using it for a month!
I find the daycare kid stereotype to be a bit judgmental and worthy of some eye rolls. You guys know that daycare kids don't necessarily walk around in a constant state of sickness just like kids who don't go to dc don't walk around as the picture of health, right?
My family is mad I'm not bringing LO to my mom's memorial mass today. Um no thanks. It's cold and flu season plus at least one of my cousins is sick. She's staying home with grandma!
Gonna be tired tomorrow but hoping to catch a nap but so ready for the morning because I made overnight egg casserole and it's so good. Normally I make a 8x10 but that pan is in the freezer with me lactation bars sovafded more to it and made it into a 9x13 pan. Yeah for more food and leftovers!!!
I mean, parent however you want. Leave your house, don't, whatever. As long as you're happy, KOKO.
But daycare kids are not the enemy.
My toddler doesn't go to daycare; however, I just think you can't live your life in constant fear of germs. Yes- keep your newborn away from someone with a known fever, flu or anything contagious (just as you would keep yourself away from that person)...but, missing family events and seeing perfectly healthy people is no way to live.

We have friends coming over today for play date and dinner. I was hoping for a little warmer weather because I'm dying for a walk; and K is constantly asking to go outside.

I think I'm sending H and DS to church this morning. I'm not quite ready to go with baby yet. Next week. Here's hoping DS doesn't throw up on the way there yet again...
Start with your OB. And call today, don't wait for tomorrow!
Thank you & definitely. This shit is for the birds. Sorry to all those that keep getting it.
OB first. Also do warm compresses, hand express in the shower, and pump/nurse as often as possible. A baby is mire efficient at getting it out. A pump works, but definately not as well, that's why I've had it twice.

pivot, I second what oldbaylover1024 said. I hope It's not mastitis! It does suck. My OB and my OB sister said that if fever is over 102, you need to be seen.

DS2 nursed alllll night long, way to jump in at the last second for the 4-6week growth spurt. Ugh. Momma's tired. I have a bridal shower for a college friend today. I'm going without either kid, I am so excited to have some grown up conversation that isn't interrupted by a 2 year old or crying baby! I also am super excited for DS1 to go back to Mother's Day out tomorrow after 2 weeks off!
We are heading to church today and then out to lunch. I'm planning to tell DH I need some rest this afternoon. He can nap if the baby naps, but I would like to be the one not holding her.

There's definitely a happy medium here. We have an almost 4 year old who is in daycare full time. And premie twins where the neonatologist and our pediatrician advised against contact with children until flu season is over and limited time out in public until spring. so we haven't allowed any visits by kids but do allow DD1 to be involved and around her siblings. And our house is stocked with hand sanitizer.

My FIL and his partner are coming today to meet the baby. Cue mixed emotions as I am not a fan of his partner or how things went down after my MIL passed away. She is also a heavy smoker and don't want baby to smell the smoke.
oldbaylover1024musicallyinclined thank you for the advice! I left a message with the OB so waiting to hear back. Could it be mastitis without the fever? My left breast is so sore and hot and it's extending into my left armpit and I have body aches but no chills or fever.

@jacks605 I sleep with a washcloth tucked into my nursing tank top because of this...also let down has been choking the shit out of my kid. So I pop her off and let the wash cloth handle it and put her back on. Sometimes in the morning she wakes up with milk all over her since we do all our overnight feeding in the dark. Lol

We had a great time with our family that visited yesterday. I love watching C play with his cousins. I wish we lived in the same town. 2 hours away isn't too bad, but I wish we could see each other more.
I went out with both of dh's sisters (plus one husband) and FIL last night. DH and MIL stayed home with the kids ( 6 kids: 7, 4, 4, 3, 1, and 4 weeks). I completely enjoyed my time away and two glasses of wine, and am glad I didn't have to stay home with the kids!

This is also posted in another thread that I just bumped, but today is the last day to get a Shutterfly album for close to free (shipping plus any extra pages beyond 20). I did my newborn album in a little over an hour and spent $12 on a $45 album. You have to use the app to get the offer.

All those with crazy letdowns, I highly recommend a haakaa pump. You just suction it onto your boob and then your milk doesn't go to waste.
I once got 5 oz off of a letdown this way! Sometimes my letdowns would be so insane I'd soak through my shirt and it'd dribble down and soak through my pants before I could even get a towel...
loves2shop4shoes- I have a Milkies I have used only a handful of times to catch the letdown since I try to tandem feed. This was just funny since I'd just finished the twins and wasn't expecting her cry to get to me. Went upstairs and used my manual pump and got 3 more ounces. Stash Score!!
allisong87 - I can't believe you have a 2 month old baby! So cute!

Def see the OB either way. With DD1 I had an infected clogged duct that wasn't mastitis and it was not good. Is there a red/Enflamed area?

Sorry I went MIA yesterday. My mom was here so I was offline for the most part. I read to catch up on everyone's Saturday though!
pivot and @oldbaylover I hope you're both feeling better. You have my utmost sympathy for the mastitis.
crazycatlady6 sorry LO had a rough evening yesterday. I know it's too late now, but we use gripe water with some success. Sometimes we'll do gripe water then wait a half hour then do gas drops. That seems to help. I hope the visit today with your FIL and his woman isn't too bad.

As we all know, I've been more erring on the side of temporarily being a hermit.
I think there's no harm in being cautious so long as you realize that's what you're doing: being especially cautious as your kid's not likely to get the plague from a trip or two to Target.
That being said, I see this debate as largely coming down to a FTM vs STM thing. Generally, most of the women who are being overly cautious are FTMs and those being more lenient are STMs. I feel like that's kind of to be expected, no?
