Paging @wineandcupcakes & @mrsbalwdin2012 (you're both pedi RNs correct??) the
TTMA about laryngomalacia. I am highly suspecting this in R. Her reflux has improved so much with the Prilosec--no more coughing or gagging at night. HOWEVER, Her breathing at night is giving me so much anxiety. I work in a SCN that takes care of mostly NAS babies and a few have had this as a side affect of a med that treated their withdrawal--but I know very little about it otherwise. Especially in a healthy full term baby. Obviously I'm going to talk to the pedi, but just curious if you guys or anyone else knows anything about this.
I'm going to try and record the sounds she's making tonight to show the pedi and get an ENT consult. I honestly think this kid can't sleep on her back. Wtf am I supposed to do?
C nursed this morning. For the first time in weeks. Maybe I can get him to nurse the clog out of my left breast while the antibiotic works on the right.
I also have a huge area on my stomach that is 100% numb. Like, the entire lower right quadrant of my stomach is numb to tingly. It's gotta be nerve damage, but it's a really large area. FX I get some answers on Wednesday at my PP checkup.

After such a busy weekend, today has to be a recoup and restart day. I need to clean up my tornado aftermath looking house, catch up on laundry, sleep, get the kids to agree to naps because they are behind on rest, and we need groceries because I said Friday we had no food in the house and we still haven't shopped.
So basically to recover from being busy, I'm to be very busy.
oldbaylover1024 Sorry about the numbness issues. It's one of my least favorite postpartum symptoms The numbness/tingling in my butt is just finally starting to go away.
flyinghorses6 Hope the pedi can give you some answers. I actually had the wheezing on my list of questions for our pedi appt. tomorrow.

It's supposed to be a little warmer here today. I might put the toddler in rain boots and let him get all muddy this afternoon. He needs to get outside. H hasn't put the double stroller together yet. I might try myself later - it's always faster to try it myself and then he'll feel guilty and finish it for me
flyinghorses6 lf she gets a laryngoscopy, I think you would be able to tell definitively if she had it or not because the shape of the epiglottis is distinct with laryngomalacia. I'm not a nurse but I'm an SLP; I don't work in the medical field so this isn't something I have a lot of experience with but I remember that from grad school. Good luck, I hope you get some answers soon!
Do you have a RNP or something similar? If she can't sleep flat on her back, that might be an alternative until she can roll over on her own? Or maybe prop her up onto her side using a rolled up blanket?

cosmicav she's been in the RNP for like 2 weeks now. It helps a little over being flat...but the only time she really doesn't do it is if she's sleeping belly down on my chest. I honestly think she needs to sleep on her belly...which of course is technically not safest. But I wonder if it is safer considering her airway will actually not be blocked (if she does in fact have this). Obviously I need to talk to the doctors about this- but it's what my gut instinct is telling me will help her.

shawnabm1320 - C was getting lazier and lazier, so nursing was a challenge. But I'd still try every once in a while. A couple weeks ago we stopped trying and I was truly EP. But today I figured I'd try to get the clogs out and to avoid pumping. Boom! Nursed. Crazy.
pivot - The weird thing about the numbness is it wasn't there until recently, like it's new numbness. And feels like it's spreading out from my incision up my stomach. Very strange. FX your numbness gets better.

Sorry but about the fever and boobs discomfort pivot. flyinghorses6, I hope the pedi is able to help R. That sounds scary. oldbaylover1024, yay for nursing again! I hope the numbness goes away.

@wineandcupcakes it's during some feedings and at night. She has inspiratory stridor when I do hear it. I feel like I'm a crazy person over here, but I can't help but worry. I am an hour from Boston so I will keep his name in mind if I do need to see someone. Thank you.

I'm back from S's 1 month appointment at the pedi. She's up to 9 pounds even and 22 inches! I was suspecting a lot of growth because she's too big for most of her NB clothes now. I feel so good when I know she's thriving. The pedi OKed her to take Vitamin D only instead of the multivitamin plus iron. This is good news for all our clothing since this kid spits up all the time and the iron stained everything.

I'm counting down the days to my 6-week follow up because I'm beyond ready to work out. I'm itching to get those endorphins and also hoping it will help me lose some weight. I'm still bleeding pretty heavily but that can't last forever, right?
At what point do I give up on my pre-kid clothes fitting? I still have pants that never fit me between pregnancies. I'd like to purge my wardrobe of anything I don't or can't wear.

Ditch em. All those clothes did for me was make me feel depressed. I feel better in clothes that fit, not ones I'm dreaming about or shoving myself into.

Does it make a difference that my weight hasn't changed? Though my hip bone shape may be forever different.

SIL helped unpack my master bedroom and we did a major purge of both my clothes and DH's. He was way worse than me. But I plan on another purge 2 weeks before I go back to work for at least work clothes....ugh! Dreading this.

Mine has too but it's settled differently so clothes don't fit right.
I need to get some flattering clothes. I just realized that my 10 year high school reunion is in a few months, and since I was that quiet nerd in the corner, I feel that it is necessary to be in the best shape possible. I am determined to look good lol

I'm still almost 20 pounds over my prepregnancy weight. It hasn't changed for two weeks now. My diet is relatively healthy but I'm going to have to restrict calories and build muscle to get back to my previous weight, and honestly it's not a very high priority right now. The problem is that none of my clothes fit right. I'm not willing to get rid of them until I've given up on the weight loss.

I am also reluctant to get rid of clothes in case gym time can make them fit again.
