I got an extra 2 hours of sleep tonight because I was able to elevate the bassinet mattress just right and DS seemed more comfortable. His reflux has also been alot better yesterday and tonight.

Why is it not Friday yet? DS (2.5) hasn't been napping and is cranky as shiiiit from 4 to about 8 when we finally get him down for the night. DD starts her shift of unexplained and prolonged fussiness at about 9:30pm. Tonight was midnight before she slept. And THEN I had some weird dream I was watching La La Land but it was very scary. Whine over.
madameovary, I had a dream that we lived in Nazi Germany and a Nazi soldier was shoveling off our steps for us. H and I were nervous and uncomfortable. Hormone dreams are wild.
I woke up with some decent cramping that lasted several minutes. I don't know if it was BH, false labor or maybe my body just needs to poop? I was hoping to make it through this last day of work, we'll see how the day progresses.
First night home and nursing in MOTN... baby boy is getting better at nursing but is super slow, he loves taking breaks. Nursing takes 45 minutes to an hour sometimes

Good luck! Hopefully it's your body getting ready but you make it through today without too much excitement

I'm up for the day with both kids and DS ate my bacon. We all had a much better evening yesterday after spending some time apart yesterday. Dh worked outside and ds went to MILs.
mikaela20 have you cut certain foods from your diet for the reflux? Asking because I'm trying no chocolate and don't know when I should notice a difference.
I'm up pumping and feeding the baby. I am so, so tired today. The baby is already asleep in her rock and play, so I hope she lets me move her back to her pack and play so I can sleep another couple of hours.

So last night I had a gold star worthy moment lol we showered at once... DS, DD and myself! The baby looooved the shower I must try it again with just her because bath time can be a pain with setting up the tiny tub and keeping her warm.
amacbaby, DD1 was impossible to keep awake during feedings, plus latch issues, so it took us 45-60 mins every feeding at first. It's especially hard b/c when you're finally done you get all of an hour before you have to start again! It does get easier, but boy can be it frustrating at first.
AFM, 39w appt this AM. I joked to DH that they could induce me for pre-e, so he's all freaked out. I don't actually have symptoms other than slightly high BP last week (I had high BP at the end w/ DD1). The only odd thing is that I've gained 2 lbs/week the last 2 weeks, which is strange b/c I should have stopped gaining mostly by now, I was only gaining about 1 lb/week before this, and I haven't been doing anything so drastic that should cause a 2 lbs/wk gain (I haven't been eating cleanly by any means, but not so bad that I should have started gaining 2 lbs/wk!) We'll see what they say today I guess. TGIT!

I stopped drinking fenugreek tea that I was having hoping to help with production but I didn't notice a difference.
I asked his doctor yesturday if it could be something im eating and he didn't think so and wanted us to try more burping during feeds and keeping him elevated for sleeping. So we'll see how this week goes, we follow up next week. I hear people cutting out milk, I might try that soon. I don't have too much dairy though, just the cream in my morning coffee.

Are there other common things to cut out?
I've only heard of chocolate and dairy being the big ones for reflux. Some things on Pinterest suggested eggs too but I haven't been eating many of those. Coffee was another one but that will need to be pried from my cold dead hands. I'm hoping we get relief with more burping and elevating her after she eats.

Hmm I hope it's not coffee. I don't have much of the other things.

A was a slow eater at first and would constantly fall asleep in the middle of eating so my LC recommended massaging my breast before and during the feeding. It speeds up the flow which seems to keep A focused a little better and has cut down our feeding times to 15-20ish miniutes of good eating
I've been massaging and squeezing my boobs while she's nursing since the hospital. It helps get the milk flowing quicker, which means she didn't have to suck so hard to get it going and that helped my nipples not hurt AS bad. They still hurt but I don't think they hurt as badly when I was squeezing the boob.

I think I'm going to bust out the pump after this next nursing session. I can't wait to see how this goes with ds. He has been dying to know how that damn thing works so this will be interesting.
I slept so much better last night. It seems to be an every other day type thing. I am still so tired and pregnant though. I was so pissed off when the alarm went off.

DD was making so.much.noise. in her sleep last night. DH kept checking to see if she was awake. She's napping now and of course she's silent. I'm going to try to nap while it's quiet.
I am over the newborn stage. Can we fast forward some?
I second this. I love it when she is just snuggling with us but the rest of it can kick rocks. She isn't a high needs baby either. I just have a cold, dead heart.
Why is there no baby holding device that keeps them straight up and down?! When Jack is awake he wants to be up sitting. Not in in the swing, or RnP, but in my lap facing out, sitting up like a real person.
(I understand why this baby device has not been invented, just ahhhh)

My neighbor has one of these and it's her favorite baby product ever.
Last night was much better than the night before. I noticed the last few days that L would pass out hard after a feeding with a slower flow nipple. She takes longer to finish a bottle so I was avoiding them at night. I decided to try using the slower flow at bedtime and her MOTN bottle. She is always fussy after her bedtime bottle and usually at least a bit fussy MOTN.
She didn't even finish the bedtime bottle. I was worried she would wake me up in an hour to finish it off. Nope! Slept right through to her MOTN feed. She fell asleep while being burped after that one too.
This may just have been a fluke but imma say it anyway
