I am enjoying an auntie Anne's pretzel at the mall. I need to feed lo, and I'd like to do that before the school kids descend. So I probably need to wake her up.

Cleaning up here and getting some last minute things done before DH leaves. Called the social worker to tell her I'm not having a nervous breakdown about him leaving and doing as well can be expected. The rest of our list is not going well.
We had the van checked and they need us to fix $1300 of stuff for it to be considered safe for the road, which is BS because we had it safetied less than a year ago when we bought it in Ontario and find they are the most strict about cars they plate. Now we have to look for another mechanic because I'm not paying that.
My washer is sucking big time. I keep finding diapers still dirty and clothes with clumps of detergent on them. I effing hate HE washers. I want my old washer back that actually agitated the clothes.
We still need to make time to get our taxes done, register DD1 for school, get DS's RESP set up, make an appointment to get my hair cut while I can leave the kids with him; so many small things. Why is time going so fast? This is our last full weekend together.

Getting caught up and handing out love its for support!
Z had her two month appointment this afternoon and got her shots. She handled it like a champ. She screamed her head off right after, of course, but she calmed down pretty quickly. She's been mostly sleeping since, which has me worried since I need her to eat more. I don't know if it's a side effect from the shots themselves or the trauma that had her sleeping so much.
She was up to almost 10lbs, but our pedi office weighs with the diaper on so I'm guessing that's a few ounces off. She's not even on the chart in height yet, but the pedi isn't concerned. He said she's doing well be her personal chart and that early babies tend to go up on weight and head circumference before height.
DH works tomorrow and I'm doing my first trip to a restaurant with Z without him to have lunch with some coworkers while my old boss is in town.
We ended up at the pediatrician's office. She was refusing to eat and that combined with her being so miserable around eating the past few days made me decide to call. Looks like reflux so we're going to try meds. My poor baby...

DS1 has a fever. We walked to the park this morning and he fell asleep in the stroller, which he never does. Got home, refused lunch, and napped another 3 hours. Hopefully whatever this is contains itself to just DS1. Poor guy looks miserable.
R has been fairly fussy late this week and doesn't want to be put down. He woke up during my workout and wouldn't calm down until I fed him and then remained fussy after being fed. I lost my cool and was very frustrated and then I was even more mad because I was mad at myself for losing my cool. Not my finest moment.
On the bright side the weather was awesome today. C played outside all evening, it was great.

DD1 had a fever last weekend and DD2 somehow didn't get sick, I'm hoping you have the same luck!

cosmicav my nipples hated me the entire time I nursed because of latch problems (about 5 weeks). Once I stopped nursing and switched to just pumping they were much happier. I also has noticeable damage to both from latch issues and had to get a prescription nipple cream that worked wonders in just a few days.
That said...just went to start my last pump of the day and started bleeding badly from one nipple. I then had to clean pieces of a blood clot out of my pump parts...fun.
For those of you who breastfeed/pump, how long did it take for your nipples to stop hating you? Or did aching nips just become your life?
4/5 days (but I used earth mama nipple cream and lansinoh gel soothies religiously). Are you nursing or pumping or both?
I have just started pumping, no nursing so far. Originally we were just formula feeding since I had no supply, but a few days ago, I randomly produced some milk, so I decided to start up trying again. I've gotten some droplets out this time!! FX FX FX
I don't have nipple creams yet; I should get some!!

littleredfish, isn't it crazy how such a tiny person can make so much laundry?
Youguise, my baby turned from a fuss monster who was only sleeping 2 hour stretches at the beginning of the week to a sleep connoisseur.
Last night she slept 6 hours, then 4 and was up most of the day except for a few short naps.
Tonight she ate 4 oz. from 7:30-8:30pm. Then I tried to put her in a PnP for the first time in eons (want to start her on flat surface sleeping). She freaked out, so I put her on the boob for like 5 minutes to comfort nurse and then she ate maybe another 0.2 oz. from a bottle before she passed out. That was probably at 9pm. Guys, at 2:45 in the morning, I called it, woke her up, and fed her.
I know that as long as she's taking in enough milk/formula and getting enough wet and poopy diapers (which she is), I shouldn't worry...but 6+ hours between feeding... from a newborn??? Idk. Maybe it was too much of a change too quickly... but I was like 😳. Must wake baby.

How old is she loves2shop4shoes? Generally I wouldn't wake a baby at night unless there's a medical reason to do so. A lot of babies consolidate their sleep around 6 -8 weeks, so enjoy it! It'll get you rested for the dreaded 4 month sleep regression 😉
Meanwhile, I'm already thinking of the nap I might take tomorrow while DS is napping. So much wakefulness tonight.

shawnabm1320, she's 6 weeks today! I think my concern just came from such a huge transition so quickly. I have a 6 week pedi appointment on Wednesday and I'm hoping that'll put my mind at ease... but holy crap. If I can actually let her sleep 6+ hours, and she does, HAPPY DANCE!!!
There's something in the air. L slept for 5.5 hours. And then 3. She's never done that. And she's eating without a fight. After one dose. FX it stays this way!
loves2shop4shoes I'd let her sleep. This might be a new trend, or it might be a phase. Whatever it is, enjoy it! If she's hungry, she will let you know.
Our motion activated front door light went on while I was nursing. Logical shell knows it was a bunny or something. MOTN Shell went right to an 11 because Criminal Minds.

I would def let her sleep. P is 7 weeks today and is doing long stretches at night. This is around when my older child started to do 8-10 hours a night so you should be good, provided that there isn't a med reason the pedi wants you to wake her.

I would let her sleep too! I'm begging my child for more sleep. We only got 4 hours, 3 hours and then shit show...I was up for an hour with a grunty lightly sleeping farting girl, then got her down for 45 minutes, then she was back up doing the same thing and then on my chest the last 2 hours. I can't wait for a breakthrough here. Im feeling a little discouraged but I know it will eventually get better
