We're so lazy today. I plan to go to the gym later, but otherwise... nada. It's nice having a down day with MH and C. Yesterday was a long one - we spent 4 hours in the car. DNW to drive today!

Give me all your tricks for making a toddler take medicine. He was doing great until we accidentally bought a flavor he doesn't like and now he thinks all medicine is disgusting. He actually threw it up yesterday because he didn't like the way it tasted. We've tried mixing it in juice, we've tried straight up bribery, we've tried adding food coloring to it to make it look yummy... HELP US!

Hugs to all with fussy babies. Hope things get better!
Baby had been having some skin problems. We changed his soap and started doing lotion and it got better, but in the last few days it's been flaring up again. Poor LO.

I received my parking pass for work in the mail today so that means I officially have only a couple weeks until I go back to work. I'm not ready and now I'm sad today.

notagoddess R decided last week he doesn't like to be put down either. Even when we are holding him, he is pretty fussy most the time. He has always been pretty fussy in the evenings, but now it has become most of the day. I have started going on walks or running unneeded errands because being in his car seat and stroller/car will put him to sleep. Luckily, he sleeps pretty well at night. Still waking up a few times, but just to eat with no fussying after.
I am meeting my co-workers for dinner tonight. This will be DH's first time alone with both boys. Given R's attitude the last week, I don't think it will go very well.

I have to give DS Tylenol a tiny bit at a time while he's eating dinner or sitting in his high chair. I use a syringe and squirt it in the back of his cheek.
Could you mix it with applesauce? Obviously he wouldn't get the whole dose, but he'd get some?
dancerspose Have you tried any drops for the gas? We started probiotic drops in one bottle a day two weeks ago and can tell a big difference. I hope the gassiness settles soon for you!

To all dealing with fussiness/needy babes. I read that fussiness peaks at 6 weeks so hopefully we are all on the down. Hugs to all.
Wearing baby, swing, bouncy seat all help me when I am feeling like R is super fussy or needy. Sometimes she just needs to have her own space so putting her down actually helps both of us.
Ditto that putting lo down sometimes helps her fussiness. It seems counterintuitive, but it works. I find it works best to lay her on the couch next to me, on the floor, or on the changing table.

Syringe to the back of the cheek?
That's how we gave it to him when he puked it up. But I'm thinking that's what I'm going to try again soon

Did they take it away while you were on leave?
I park in a pay2park lot so they froze my account for 3 months.

Oh my goodness. I'm trying really hard to remind myself that not all days will be like this. My normally happy baby is super fussy today, DS just ran over the cat with his bike, and H wants to go somewhere tonight, so I'll be doing bedtime myself. Thank goodness there's a Newcastle in the fridge with my name on it.

shellbell, we just tried that and he seemed to be tentatively ok with it. He took the medicine, but he took his sweet sweet time doing it. But it's in. Thanks!
Also, I have been shit on, peed on, and puked on today by one baby. The other is just using me a walking tissue... too early for a beer on a Monday? DS2 wouldn't nap all day, so I finally decided to just wear him for a bit, the second we got in the carrier (which I was last night since he hurled all over it yesterday) he shit through his diaper on to me and it! AHH! But then he smiled and cooed during his bath.

Today has been insanely hectic. I've been calling around different daycares, scheduling walk throughs, and trying to get our options together.
Some daycares have two YEAR long wait lists... at one point I just blurted out "I'm confused. How is that possible if the human gestation period is 9 months???" Booking daycare before you're even pregnant seems a whole new level of bsc to me.
loves2shop4shoes the DC search is the worst. Good luck! Let us know if you need any help with questions to ask/things to look for. I will say, I had a "feeling" about our center. I just knew it was the right place for us. So definitely follow your gut too!

This is gunna be fun.
We lived in Boston when we had DD1 and we were on lists at 8 weeks pregnant and didn't get into 3 out of 4 in time for starting! It was crazy. A lot of times the lists are that long even for infants since siblings get priority. For our current daycare in RI Poppy went to the top of the list since Stella is already there. So I think they hold spaces for siblings assuming a certain # will have kids starting soon and that is how lists get so crazy.
