Can I kind of go here again for accountability ? I need to do this.
• Water. My goal is 100 oz a day, so 3 refills of my bottle.
• Smoothies. Start making them again even if the sound does scare the babies ☺️ My realistic goal is drinking 3 this week loaded with veggies. I can do 3, that's realistic.
danib For your coughing have you tried hot water with honey? (Maybe you can't have honey if you're BF'ing?). If you can, try drinking two or three of those a day - it has historically helped me relive congestion very quickly.
Keep on keeping on. Skipping dessert has gotten easier. I still want it, but it's easier to say no. We've also done well with vegetarian meals for dinner. I'd like to find a recipe for breakfast bars that are healthy and tasty. I spend a lot buying the healthiest ones each week for snacks. I do need to increase water too.
Exercise is ok. I need to do more. My stamina is obviously increasing, but I'm only getting in one good session a week. I'd like to add in a class of some kind but I'd have to go super early in the morning. I'm not sure our gym has classes early enough. Doing it at home hasn't worked well. I need the other people around for motivation.
I also have to stay mentally on target. I know some of you are back or close to prepregnancy weight, have flat stomachs again, etc. And as happy as I am for you guys seeing results, it's hard for me since I'm not. This happened with Lillian, too. I just cannot lose anything while breastfeeding. It makes me super depressed and it's hard to keep going sometimes.
Not much new to report here. Still busting my ass 6 days a week working out, still eating very healthy and clean the vast majority (at least 90%) of the time, still seeing no changes.
I guess my butt looks a little perkier? DH agreed when I asked him but he was also trying to get laid.
ClassyMrsA I think my body also holds on to weight while I'm breastfeeding. I'm not willing to stop just so I can lose weight but it's very frustrating and annoying when others seem to have no problem shedding the excess. You aren't alone.
I actually started a new IG account that's fitness-focused so I could get inspiration but I think the opposite is happening because I'm comparing myself to these tiny fitness model type moms and it's more irritating than anything else.
Can we talk about clothes? And dressing a post partum body? Any tips?
Since my return to work is imminent, I went shopping the other day but was not very successful. One big problem I'm having is that my rib cage expanded when I was pregnant with DS and even more when I was pregnant with D last year. I have always been broad-shouldered but this takes it to a new level. I had to buy all new bras with a 40" band. Even larger sizes of shirts are just too tight around my chest and pull against or flatten my boobs.
It's really not cute and I'm not sure what to do about it. Stretchier fabrics are out of the question because my belly is still so round/loose. Where can I get clothes that aren't too clingy but also don't look like I'm wearing a tent just to fit them over my shoulders/ribs? Do these even exist?

ClassyMrsA, I'm right there with you. I still have about 8lbs to go until I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight (which is still a good 20lbs more than my ideal weight) and I likely won't lose it until after I'm done breastfeeding. In general I tend to gain wight easily but it's hard work trying to lose it. It's so hard to stay motivated when you aren't seeing results. Trying changing your focus to something non-weight related (easier said than done, I know), like your running. Hopefully you'll see enough positive changes in your time/stamina to keep you motivated.
As far as clothes go dashook. I'm really no help, especially since I'm still wearing maternity pants :/ I found some lose fitting sweaters and that's pretty much all I wear right now. I'm really hoping by summer I'll be able to fit into my old jeans again.

AFM, I've just been doing the BBM workouts. There's only a couple more weeks left in the 90 day challenge and I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it!
I think the Big Climb yesterday was just the kick in the pants that I needed to really get serious about working out. I did way better than I thought I would considering I didn't do anything to actually prepare for it. I really want to start running again. I'm hoping to get a couple of miles in this week. I have my first 5k on the 8th. It'll be my first run since my half marathon last March. I know my time won't be awesome, but it'll be good to see where I'm at.

I've been feeling a little discouraged this week. I certainly didn't bust my ass but I stuck to eating healthy, home cooked meals for all but one night and went out walking 3 times plus exercises at home, and I still gained 2 pounds. I know I have to just keep going but I thought I'd be in a better place by this point. After C was born, I was dropping weight so fast but I've since gone back up 5 pounds and can't seem to get them to budge.
Still looking vaguely pregnant but I think that's okay and it's just what I'm working with now Definitely feeling better after finding some stuff that is nice enough for work and actually comfortable.
This is the time of day (3-4pm) where I feel famished and want to raid my cupboards and eat everything I can find. Hate it. I've been doing good all day food wise and don't want to ruin it.
I know the feeling! This is when I start wanting a cup of coffee too. My energy levels totally crash around 3/3:30 like clockwork.

dashook you look FANTASTIC!! I can definitely see a difference. And I love that shirt, those colors look great on you.
waitwhat that is hilarious! That's when my hungries hit too so I've started drinking a cup a decaf and try to convince myself there's caffeine it. Never seems to work. I also attempt to have a healthy snack, but it usually ends up being four packs of fruit snack.

I'm just KOKO for this week. Finally found a way to get my water intake up above where it should be. We're going out of town Thursday night through Sunday (gulp) so I'm trying to figure out how to pack enough food for me just in case I can't get safe food while we're gone. I foresee many protein cookies.

So my experience has always been that my gain or loss is behind a bit, not sure if anyone else is like that For example, if I give 100% this week and eat perfectly and get in my workouts etc - it's not until next week I see or feel a change. And vice verse, if I eat like crap and don't work out, it usually takes several days to catch up to me. Maybe that's not the same for everyone but keep going - don't get discouraged because it's very possible that your scale is just a few days behind!!! I especially find this to be true the closer I am to my ideal weight.

It's funny you say that because I was weighing C a couple days later and noticed that I had dropped 3 pounds in that time. We've still been eating really healthy (except last night) so I'm hoping it continues. I haven't done much walking except at work but at least it's better than what I get home. I might weigh myself again this weekend.
