shellbell AF came back at 6 weeks with my girls but that was also when I was cleared for sex and started the mini pill. I'm praying it was the pill that jump started things because we're rounding on 6 weeks and since I'm not taking hormonal BC again I'm hoping to not start that shit up again.
musicallyinclined my hair didn't come back until my girls were weaned and my hormones were back to normal. So disappointed since while I'm pregnant my hair and nails are beautiful.
DH and I have to go do our taxes today, so that's fun. Right now he is off doing some paperwork on base and dropping of DD1s school registration. The To Do list is slowly dwindling but this is a busy week.
musicallyinclined I started taking biotin at the suggestion of someone here (thank you whoever suggested it!) and have been spared any shedding so far. Maybe it's still coming though...
I've been kind of absent and just LTing lately because DS1 has been kind of a handful. He's getting a little temper all of a sudden and on top of that we just found out he has an ear infection we totally missed. He also bit a little girl at daycare yesterday, which he has not done for over 10 months. I am not feeling like a great mom these days. He's staying home today so we are having some quality time coloring and watching Elmo.
K is napping, R is nursing/napping on me. I've tried to pump twice today and only pumped 4 oz total. Yet when R nurses I hear tons of swallowing and see lots of milk. Wtf pump?! I rely on you for at least the next 5 weeks. I need you to do your job.
I also never get as much when I pump. It just makes me hate pumping more. I found some success when I upgraded my pump to a Spectra, then I was told my flanges were the wrong size and that helped a bit too. My midwife also suggested I sit near DS where I can see him or watch videos or look at pics of him and the girls while I pump. I find that helps the most because it brings on at least 1 good let down which helps. I also had to play with my massage and pump features to find a good mix for me (I get better results on the massage feature). But at the end of the day I still don't feel I get as much when I pump, so I'm very grateful I don't have to rely on it this time around. Just makes me respect pumping mom's so much. My BFF was a EP mom and we used to joke that BFing was the lazy way.

EmMilAlly, you are not a bad mom. You can't control what H does - biting and tempers are pretty normal, aren't they? Is H teething right now? Also, I think you would feel better about your mom skills if you could see things at my house some days. Like yesterday afternoon. Yikes. We're all doing the best we can!

Well, all my sympathies to my fellow shedders. I'm going to have to look into the supplement.
Pity party below... We are taking both boys into the pedi. DS1 looks and sounds awful. DS2 has only nursed twice in the last 8 hours and is mostly fussy mixed with short naps. I'm hoping it is reflux related and not DS2 getting whatever DS1 has. The nurse just told me to reassure myself and bring them in so that's what we are doing. Not how I wanted my last week of maternity leave to go!

I just called the insurance company to see about getting a pump, and they gave me a list of in-network medical suppliers and told me to call one for my pump. How do I decide which one to call? Do they all provide the same pump? H wants me to call all of them and see what they say. Um, not what I wanted to do with naptime? I hate calling people.

musicallyinclined, sorry you're spending your last week of maternity leave in sick-ville. I hope they give you answers for DS2. Was the allergist appointment helpful for DS1's itching issue?

musicallyinclined hugs! Hope you get some me-time in your last week too. shawnabm1320 totally agree on calling people. Literally always make DH do it.
Also shedding here and have zits. Haven't checked in for awhile too, trying to LT when I can! Life is hard yo. And toddlers are harder. I don't know why I thought infants were so bad the first time around, give me 10 of these and take my crazy 2 yo.

It was. We will be starting him on immunotherapy for his grass/tree allergy. Thanks for asking!

Are they medical supply stores? Are any of the breastfeeding specific stores? If there are any BF stores, I'd call them first.
Do you know what pump you want? You might be able to go to their website to see where you can get their pump. Then cross reference with the list given to you.

Today I went to my work to visit and show off S. It was nice to see a few coworkers, but I feel exhausted now. I'm seriously considering not going back. It's sending me into a panic to think about leaving S. She's so needy right now, I can't even put her down. I just imagine her crying all day at daycare. I wish I had family that could watch her instead.

I'd keep it simple and figure out what pump you want and call asking for that. Or see if they have websites. I got phone numbers but also websites and did mine all online and they shipped my pump to me.
Well the twins had their 2 month pedi appts this afternoon. Neither are really on the growth charts yet but G gained 3lbs and O gained 2.5lbs from their 2 week visit so they were happy. G is now 8lbs 8oz and O is 8lbs even. So tiny still!
We're supposed to give G special rice cereal formula 2x a day now to see if that helps his spitting up. No dice on stopping the supplementing till 12lbs...that's apparently my pedis "magic number". Ugh- 2/3 more months....really wanted that time back at night.
Also insurance messed up Os bills. Showed her coverage cancelled but covered G's appts. So that's gonna be fun to clear up. Guess this may be my future with twins...

Eeek oldbaylover1024!! Did you pass out after receiving that statement? Oh my word.
notagoddess, I wouldn't picture S crying all day at daycare. I mean, so much changes with babies in such a short time. However, if you want to quit your job for other reasons - go for it! I remember you weren't happy there before. Maybe you can look for something else now that you've had some experience in your field? Did I miss how your OB appointment went yesterday? Hope everything was ok!
Oh my. oldbaylover1024, that would have me breathing out of a paper bag. Thank goodness for good insurance! Keeping my fx for you that yours isn't too bad, comparatively.

Well, 2.5 hours later we are home. DS2 is fine, starting some Zantac tonight. DS1 got a chest X-ray and it showed the beginnings of pneumonia. Good news is, they make acetaminophen suppositories and his antibiotics are being injected so we don't have to worry about him spitting it out.
Stay away from the musicallyinclined house, we are gross!
I saw my 2nd stitch come out this morning. I kinda want to take a mirror and see how many stitches/ the status of my vag but I don't want to be scarred either.
DO NOT DO THAT
You made me legit LOL that woke the sleeping baby on my lap.

@jacks605 at Z's two month appointment last week she wasn't on the chart for height yet. And she was only in like the 15% for weight. Our pedi said shade her personal growth chart was a good curve it was fine.
@okdbaylover1024 yowza! Definitely hope most to all of that is picked up by insurance.

oldbaylover1024, sweet baby Jesus!! As a Canadian I've never even laid eyes on a hospital bill like that so I have no concept of what that stuff costs. And I was irritated to find out today that I owe $800 in taxes on my last year's mat leave for DD2. Thank goodness for your insurance and a healthy little boy! I hope your insurance covers most of that!!

I also hate calling people #antisocial
I went to the edge park medical supply website (which I understand is utilized by most insurances?) and input my insurance number and info. It gave me a long list of pumps that would be covered under my insurance and I picked one. I input my address and my doctor info and I literally received the pump 3 days later. Did not pick up the phone once lol.

Right?! I mean... Wow. Obviously, I'd pay it twice over to have C, but damn. I checked for the "this is not a bill heading" about a dozen times!!! And yes, thank GOD for good insurance!
littleredfish - MH had to have medically necessary cosmetic surgery on his jaw. Basically they disconnected and reconnected his jaw. That was 14 years ago, and cost half the price of the NICU stay for C. I can't imagine what that procedure costs today...

The only hospital bills I've seen EVER have been a 10$ fee on a private room when I had DD1, which was at our request and we added that on to DH's insurance so we didn't even pay that for DD2 and DS. And during a loss I opted for an ambulance ride because I did not feel able to drive and if you are deemed able to get yourself there you pay for the ride, and that cost us $90. It's not even my bill and that number makes me nervous.
