Is anyone like me and struggle with names and second guessing and just plain hates everything they used to love once it's supposed to go on a real person?
Boys name was 100% Isaac Alexander Girls I have no clue! I loved Genevieve but am now meh about it. Calla I liked but it's kind of different. Girls names are hard for me!

Ugh, we're really struggling with names this time around. We have a couple that we like, but we aren't in love with them and they don't feel quite right.
I love my daughters name so much I worry I'll never find another girl name I like as much. Her name is Layla and it is just so perfect for her.
I have Mira and it's absolutely perfect for her. I have to find another girl name like that. And I dreamt I named Mira that she was supposed to be Chloe.

Yes, names are so difficult. For me, it's boys names I struggle with. If this LO is a girl, we have at least a first name we love. If it's a boy, I dunno. I'd love to somehow incorporate family name(s) since we didn't with DD -- but I don't want anybody's feelings to get hurt if we use a name from one side of the family but not the other. I want to be team green, too! I guess we just go in with a boys name and a girls name picked out? Or two of each?
DH likes Cameron Robert but I'm not sold. I like Owen Michael, but I'm not sold either.
Girls names are easier for us. I like Hazel and Riley. I'm not sure if either are too much like Hailey though. H liked Mikayla until I pointed out that it was too much like both our names pushed together. Lol
We haven't talked about it yet. We will after our anatomy scan. I have no clue what to name this baby though either way. With DS, his name was the only boy name we both could agree on. And DD's name DH requested before we even had kids. So...yeah. I have a feeling names are going to be hard...
Oh we are so screwed on names. When DS was born the registrar came around on day two and we had to send her away because he still didn't have a name. We finally chose it two hours later. When I found out we were having another boy...... SHIT. Maybe DS2 will have a hand-me-down name. We'll just switch the first and middle names from DS and call it a day.
Jokes aside, I want the middle name to be after my grandfather, but we have no first name ideas at all.
DD lost and born 9/18/2013 at 24 weeks (Trisomy 18) DS born 6/16/2015 (at 39 weeks 6 days, after emergency cerclage at 23 weeks and 14 weeks of bed rest)

With both pregnancies we decided on a boy name super fast. Once we said it, it just seemed perfect from the beginning. We already have a boy name picked this time. There are several girl names we "like" but I'm not sure it's love yet.
DH loves the name Sloane for a girl though. I do like it but I'm not sure that I'm 100% sold yet.

I have my girl names- they are family names and kind of unique. The only boy name I have for sure is middle, after my DH. I'll know tonight if I need to keep worrying about a boy name!
TTC since '08 ME: PCOS, late DH: CBAVD due to CF IVF #1-6 all fresh cycles, all BFN Lost DH in 2015 due to CF Met SO and started TTC again SO: quality issues, started Clomid BFP 1/13/17, natural cycle (!) Due 9/19/17
@wicky, my sister and her clan are ABCDE - A & B are mom and dad, CDE are kiddos. So I get it.
I have a list but we don't name babies until we meet them so we'll do that again. I will say, I've struggled super hard to find names that I love and don't just, you know, tolerate.

We were team green with DS, so had a girl and boy name picked out. I have our top 5 names from last time somewhere around, just need to find it. I think that'll be a good starting point. If this LO is a girl, middle name will for sure be Susanna or some variation. Susan was my mom's name, who died last year, and my MIL's middle name.
ETA: Connor was our boy runner up name for DS and Adeline for a girl.

If we decide on a name before baby is here it'll be a miracle. We named dd when she was 12 hours old or so. We have a list going, but nothing is jumping out at me yet. I didn't come up with dd's name until the very end, and that was after one of our friends "stole" one of our favorite names. We now have 2 close friends pregnant with boys due right before us, so another reason we probably won't decide until birth.

It's a personal choice obviously but I think Hailey and Riley are too similar for me. When I imagine having to yell through the house, I would want them to immediately know who I'm calling to instead of getting both or "who?" unless you include middle names each time.
Haha yes. My sisters and I are lauren, Jordan and Madison...we never know who our parents are calling because we only hear the end of what she's yelling.

I feel like this is another boy and it will be hard to name him. We have Oliver in the running, but I don't love it. My husband seems happy with it. I like Liam, but it has been the number one name in Canada for 5 years straight and I always said I would never pick a name that was that popular. I wanted Wesley, but was shot down with DS. My husband wanted Harrison, but our last name isn't great with Harry. Like... you wouldn't want to name your kid Harry Balzak, for example. I feel like the combination we have is equally no good.
My husband thinks it is a girl, but I feel really sure he is wrong. It would be easier for a girl as we agree on lots of girl's names.

Don't mind me. Just over here giggling at Harry Balzak.
We actually managed to come up with two for each last weekend! We had been keeping a list for three years so had lots to pick from! I'm wavering back and forth between two options for girl names that are second on the list, but both would work with the middle name I want for number 2, so I'm cool going to delivery with three girl options and seeing which hits me at that time (if we need two girl names). I also love the boy names and am surprised that MH agreed to them, he likes really boring names. We are keeping the options a secret but I love the one girl name so much I hope we get to use it! (Actually I love all the names...just need two more kids...KIDDING! This is it!)

We're struggling with boy names for sure. We had our DD named before she was even conceived, LOL. And we had another girl name picked already if we were having another girl. But a boy name? Yikes. We've vetoed all but 2 names we've come up with so far, and I think we may wait until he arrives to make a final decision.
If it's a boy, he will be John Kenneth (called Jack). We've had that picked out since before we had DD.
We had a really hard time with choosing a girl name the first time, and I honestly have no idea what we're going to do if this one is a girl, too. I have a list of beautiful names, but my husband has no taste
Dang it. I just found a boy's name I really like that fits with MH heritage. The middle name will fit with my heritage. The first and middle and last names would sound great together. So I looked up the meaning: "destroyer of peace/world".

I've never really pay attention to a names meaning. How often does it actually come up in conversations vs spelling or if it is after someone or something? Not hating, seriously asking for curiosity sake.
Totally fair question. I don't think it ever comes up, and I can't really explain why it matters to me. I think most names in my family are traditional/biblical and so they all have some type of meaning or story tied to them. So on instinct if I like the sound of the name I always look up the meaning and history.
mambo, the name is Kazimierz (Polish). We would probably call him Kaz most of the time.

Our friends' son is named Casimir. I remember looking it up when he was born and it has the same meaning so it must is a variation of your pick. But, honestly, I only remembered that fact because of your post. He goes by Cas. I think it's an awesome name with tons of character and suits this little guy perfectly.
We're really struggling with names. DS has a sweet spot name that stood out as a front runner pretty early on. It's a family name (after H's Grandfather) that's relatively uncommon while still being historically meaningful and recognizable internationally. I don't even know where to start this time, and were team green so that doesn't help!
