Okay my gross kid has really been picking her nose like crazy lately, especially while in the car. I have no clue how to stop this except telling her not to and saying that eating her boogers (ewwww) is going to give her a stomach ache. Any ideas?
No help, but I don't really care that she picks her nose. I do tell her we don't pick our nose in public but it's OK at home. Oh and she hasn't eaten them that I am aware - she usually tells me she needs a tissue and will even cry for me after she has gone to bed for a tissue since she picked a boogie.
No real advice here, bit I just always encourage J to use a tissue. If she does pick her nose, I ask her to wipe it in a tissue. She *luckily* hasn't tried (that I've seen) to eat boogies yet.

No advice and definitely in the same boogie boat. Mine eats them too, and I told her they'd make her sick. She looked at me, ate another one, and said, "mmm, that one make me feel better!" She's gotten better about not eating them recently, but likes to wipe them on me. She wiped one on my face (my face!) the other night. I told her told her it was gross and not to wipe her boogies on other people's faces. She stopped me as I was wiping furiously at it and told me it WASN'T gross. And further, she wanted me to eat it. I told her I couldn't eat her boogies, to which she replied, "it's OK mommy, you can. I have more, I share."
We've got a major nose picker here too. She doesn't eat them, but she constantly has her finger in her nose. We urge her to use a tissue or tell her she's going to get a "boo boo nose" since she occasionally gets bloody noses in the night (she's only had them 3 or 4 times and she got them before she started picking her nose, but we're trying to tell her its from that).

So about a month ago h was sitting there and Gage came over and stuck his finger in H's nose. Next thing I hear is "Gage did you just put your booger in my nose!!?" Yup G took a boog and shoved it in my unsuspecting H's nose.

Benjamin picks his but is grossed out at the booger and wants it in a Kleenex asap to wipe it on. Like others have said, I don't really care much if he picks it at home but try and discourage it in public.
No advice either, just wanted to let you know that you weren't the only one with a booger eater. Totally grosses me out every time. With all the things that come with motherhood watching him put a booger in his mouth has to be the #1 thing that grosses me and that I cannot handle.

Such a disgusting, sweet child.
JA also picks and eats...and he called them his medicine when I said they were yucky and would make him feel bad. I think our kids talked without us knowing! I mean, how else could they both think to make up such randomness?!?!
