shehulk723 You are a great wife. Caregiver strain is real. I don't think anyone in your situation could do any better than you are doing.
pbandjelly My kids have their wubbanubs pretty constantly except when they are playing happily or eating. It doesn't bother me. I Will wait to see if they lose interest as they become more mobile and if not, I will start limiting it to naps/bed.
Thanks. You guys have made feel better about DS still preferring his wubbanub. He definitely rubs the animal on it to calm himself, so I dont want to take it away.

So the ER Dr just said he paged his GI, because the results are starting to come back and he wants to see what she wants to do. But he didn't actually tell us what those results are. I'm not sure if I should be worried. They're about to give him more fluids and morphine and are waiting to hear from his doctor.

Alright, well the CT scan showed his inflammation and ulcers (as well as "free fluid in the pelvis" and a spinal defect) but since there was nothing acute and no perforations, they wouldn't keep him. Insurance wouldn't cover it. He's just wasting away and malnourished but insurance won't cover a hospital stay. Screw our health system. So they sent us home.

That's frustrating that they couldn't even keep him for fluids. Have they considered an alternative nourishment for him, like TPN or anything? This annoys me bc clearly nothing acutely GI is going on but it's causing other secondary consequences. Meanwhile my hospital keeps people for toe pain or other made up shit so ppl can get drugs. Healthcare is so F up.

They told him to drink a supplement like Boost, which he's done, but liquids go straight through him and he just keeps losing more than he's putting in, thus the dehydration.

shehulk723, I am so sad and upset for you, very sorry you guys are going through this. I can't imagine dealing with it without an infant, nevermind with. hugs
shehulk723 I'm so sorry that you guys are going through this. I hope that you can get some real help and answers instead of more run around. That's so frustrating.
shehulk723 oh my gosh, are you serious? WTF? That is so messed up - clearly he's not ok! I'm so sorry, lady
Yeah. I'm so frustrated. Maybe when he's so malnourished his organs start shutting down they'll freaking admit him?? I did just get the call though that the Humira was approved. So that's good.
My stubborn girl has been on a nursing strike, sort of. I bought a hand pump as a test, can only get about 2oz through the day, consistent over 3 days now. Baby is happy to drink, sort of. Trouble is, she bites. And today she learned to blow bubbles. I just can't seem to get her to actually drink even that 2 oz. She does nurse still, but mostly just at bed and naptimes.
It seems so early for this. She just wants real food, and will drink a little water from a sippy, but mostly she just wants to chew on the sippy spouts.
She seems healthy, not showing signs of dehydration issues. I am just kind of baffled.
GUYS. My baby signed "milk" today. I thought it was a fluke, but I'm pretty sure he understands it!!
Life become a long little easier once my daughter started signing. I didn't teach her a lot except the basics. "More" was the best one! Even now at 2.5 when she says please she signs it too..and it's so adorable I never want her to stop.
SD had a soccer tournament today (and tomorrow). Her games today were at 3:50 and 8:20 and were an hour away. DH took B and I kept C. I finished working at about 4 and went to home goods and bought a rug and then decided to go to lowes and buy paint. I picked a color AND painted the kitchen. It's a minty green color and looks so good. It pops. When we bought the house we bought a basic gray and painted everything that color. The change is refreshing.

Lots of randoms:
Baby M loves food. She ate as much pasta at dinner as her brother last night!!!
Her and I want to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt in matching outfits today. It made me feel so happy. So silly but I loved it.
I'm doing an ironman triathlon next weekend. I'm so excited. I've been training a lot and it's just so. Much. Time. Excited to do it and have it behind me.

did you recently introduce new foods or more meal times? One of my kids really stopped nursing during the day a lot once he had finger foods. He ended up increasing his night nursing.
