Aw! I'm sorry callmeKD. I hope they are feeling better soon. :/
I'm up. My baby has no interest in sleeping tonight apparently. Oh well, I'm pumping and watching tv. Pumping has suddenly become painful. I feel like I need a week "break," but thats impossible.
I also spilled breast milk on our couch. It smells like shit despite me cleaning it right away. I called carpet and upholstery cleaners and they are coming tomorrow. Really hope it cleans it and gets rid of this weird smell.
My first true motn! Up feeding dd2, who actually just gave me 3 hours of sleep (after 2 hours total the night before)! So far she is a great nurser, which is so different from dd1. I still struggle to keep her awake at times, but she was only down 3.5% in weight 16 hours after birth, pooped 4-5 times in the first 24 hours, and wants to nurse non stop (my poor boobs). Hopefully she hasn't lost much more weight at her first appt Wednesday. I'm looking forwards to reaching birth weight so I can stop waking her up to eat!
kaits8 welcome to motn! I'm glad DD2 is a great nurser. Are you still in the hospital? Or home?
We came home yesterday afternoon. They were planning on keeping us 2 nights but my recovery (so far, knock on wood) has been as easy as it was with #1 and I just wanted to sleep in my own bed so when baby passed all of her tests they ok'd us to leave after 24 hours. I miss the room service! But otherwise am so happy to be settling into our new normal.
Up for Max's first feeding, but I was really confused because my stupid brain dreamt I already did a feeding. Why?!?! I'm up enough, I don't need imaginary feeding sessions!

I'm up feeding dd and watching Boston Legal. I think dd is about done. hopefully she will give me another 4 hour stretch and not start grunting enough to wake me but not herself at hour 3.
I'm up. Hopefully he'll go right back to sleep after he eats. I'm so effing exhausted. Yesterday was rough. Hell, all of last week was rough! Drove almost 350 miles yesterday afternoon. Another 300-ish will be happening today, plus...
MH wants us to completely redo how the vehicles are packed, including switching both car seats from one vehicle to the other to *hopefully* make things more efficient at all of our stops as well as being safer in terms of sight lines and how things are packed. I am feeling less than enthusiastic about this process, but maybe it will go well after some decent sleep and ALL the coffee.
All the coffee to you! Safe travels and I hope the repacking is beneficial and relatively painless.
DS slept an extra 2 hours for me, it was great. He was really colicky for DH tonight. I drank fenugreek tea during the day because I thought maybe that wasn't causing ds issues after all, but now I think it is. Back to cutting it out again.
I am procrastinating on pumping- I really just want to be here cuddling my baby instead.
Question for everyone, how often are you giving baby a bath? We're pretty much at 3 times/week because of how much she spits up, but I feel like she starts to smell by the second day. Every day seems excessive but it kind of grosses me out.
I usually only bath ds twice a week. I do wipe him down everywhere with a wet cloth wipe daily.
I'm up feeding C. I'm about halfway done and need to go to the bathroom. I'm debating on putting him back down for 5 minutes (and waking up DH because he'll hear fussing through the monitor) or holding out for another 20 minutes. Decisions decisions.

Now we are up for the day. Being able to put medicine on my itchy ass helped a ton!
ugaqueencity I've been bathing dd twice a week. I should start doing 3x because like A, dd is starting to smell from spit up b
@justinslovo when I had to do the whole nurse pump bottle routine, the best thing I did was prop ds up in the boppy so I could give him the bottle while I pumped.
After midnight for me and I'm feeding babies. I forgot how AWFUL 2 month shots are. My poor babes are miserable
Oh no. I hope they feel better soon.
DS has his in a few weeks. Do they just feel sick after? I'm getting nervous.
they get cranky and sometimes run a fever. they each had 3 shots in their legs plus an oral vaccine. so sore legs, lots of "weird" stuff in their system, etc.
Swaddle in bassinet for the win. 2-3 hour chunks when she drops are so good for my sanity. Now that all.our visitors are gone DH and I are finding our rhythm with who does what childcare wise

DD was wide awake for two hours after her first motn and couldn't settle down until she had a giant poo. Silly girl.
We are still waking her every three hours to eat. Fx that she's back to birthweight at her two week on Friday. I could use some longer stretches of sleep and my boobs could use a break!

Good morning! I finally figured out that food (or lack thereof) was LO's problem. For a few nights in a row he wasn't sleeping unless in my arms or next to me in bed. I got some sleep that way, but it wasn't very restful. Well last night I supplemented and gave 2oz of formula and he slept 3 hours in the RnP! (And another almost 3 after nursing.) I was hoping I wouldn't have to use formula so soon, but sleep and a full tummy are good.

DS's snotty nose and cough are worse today and he's hugged DD approximately 4 times already since he woke up an hour ago. MIL is working today so he has to stay home. He's also been purposely pushing DH's buttons so we could be in for a long day.
His first tball practice is tonight though. He'll probably still go to that since I think it's just a cold.
Not to get ahead of the game here, but I think I'm losing my mucus plug? More of it, anyway. Rain all week except Thursday which is slated to drop 20 degrees and be snowy...maybe Thursday? Come on cervix, your time to shine is here.
