So, about a month ago, we started trying to transition LO to sippy cups. He was surprisingly receptive, within a week I was giving him exclusively sippy cups. We still have bottles around the house, since I use them sometimes to mix the formula (when the mixing pitcher needs washed and I need a bottle NOW). I discovered about a week ago that my SO is still giving him bottles. I confronted him about it and he said something along the lines of"Well, when he's upset, I just give him whatever to make him happy." But he's just fine with sippies. So, I've made sure all the sippies are cleaned every day, made a full pitcher of formula and stopped washing bottles...and he's STILL using the bottles. Ugh. I thought i would have baby related problems with transitioning, not SO problems -_- Anyone have suggestions? Am i going to have to hide bottles from a grown man?
Also forgot to mention that he's started leaving a bottle with him in the crib at night, which we've never done before. I swear, he's trying to go backwards.
Maybe give him something to read that says you should never leave the bottle in the crib bc of tooth decay. Also, just get rid of the bottles. If he is forced to use the sippy he may see that he doesn't need the bottle to make LO happy.
The really confusing thing is that he knows about the possibility of tooth decay, and that waiting can make it much harder...we've talked about both of those things. I don't know why he's waited until now to try to start bad habits! Looks like I need to hide the bottles before he gets home. I'm so ready to wash 3 parts instead of 5, I don't know why he's being so stubborn.
