There are two cases of measles in the twin cities. There is a measles epidemic in Europe. There are two moms in my playgroup for my moms club that do not vaccinate. I'm trying not to freak out but I can't help it. Ethan has had his MMR and S1has had his second dose. But all I can think about is that if the vaccine doesn't work and they get exposed? Ugh
H now knows. And he's like come with me ( he has to drive an hour across town to unload and reload another a vehicle for work), umm no thank you. He will be gone from 9 til 1. Time for me to clean, jam, and go shop.
Dress Barn, old Navy and JC Penny's. Then wine. Lots of wine. It's been 5 long dry days.

How do you guys get your kids to sit in their chairs at dinner? DS is always always wanting to get up early but not he won't even sit down at all. Last night he kept climbing onto the empty chair next to me walking onto my chair and then trying to climb on the table. I would try to put him in his chair and he would refuse to sit so I would put him on the floor and then he would go back to climbing up onto the empty chair. Screaming the whole time of course. I think part of the problem is that he nurses right after we get home from daycare around 6 so he may not be hungry for dinner. Again I am trying to wean some but not having much success. I know he can sit and eat fine because he does it a daycare every day.
flippinchica, so when C wouldn't eat dinner it was due to snacks as soon as we got home so I suggest cutting out that nursing session. He will cry but try to distract him. If you are cooking and he's following you around crying to nurse give him pots and pans. Or let him cry. C does this and tries to get stuff out of pantry. I don't give in.
Then he will sit and eat something, not much but some. He lasts about 5-10 mins at the table. We then let him cry for another 5 while telling him we are still eating. Then we put him down to dance. It's a struggle every night.

flippinchica, maybe this is an FFFC, but I don't do family dinner with P. I feed her, then she gets a bath and goes to bed and H and I have a late adults only dinner.
But we do family breakfast, and P definitely won't sit for the whole thing. It's a good thing that by the time I sit down, my coffee is always luke warm because more often than not, she will climb up next to me and stick her hand in my coffee.
runningmommy519, that's scary about the measles. I just don't get anti-vaxxers.
One of these moms might have a legitimate reason for possibly delaying. Her son has a dairy and egg allergy. Possibly wheat. But still. He hasn't been to a well visit since 4 months. He's over a year old. I actually think he's close to 18 months

No well visits for over a year, and when he was an infant! That just seems insanely irresponsible.

flippinchica E starts shrieking when he wants down. Sometime he says "un un" which means done. We moved him to a booster at the table (with a belt) because he kept trying to climb out of his high chair

Her reason? She doesn't want to expose her kid to unnecessary germs.
The other mom doesn't do well visits either.
I feel for the mom who just joined our play group with a 5 month old. I don't think she knows and I don't feel comfortable telling her when I don't know her well. She mentioned shots at one playgroup. So I'm certain she vaccinates.
I was looking for the weekend thread but yeah, it's Friday. We slept okay. I have a bit of a hangover but will fix it with mimosas later! Egg hunt with my friend and her baby at 10!

I feel better knowing I'm not alone but yeah he used to si for a bit and then throw things and want out. Now he wouldn't even sit down. We took the tray off his chair so he could eat at the table and that seemed to help for a bit. It just makes me nuts that I see him sit st the table and eat at daycare just fine.
Daycare is closed today so we are going to the kiddie amusement park I think. We definitely need to get out of the house.
runningmommy519 I'm the person that would 100% find a way to being vaccinations up in playgroup. If it were my 5 month old I would be livid. I don't take well to anti -vaxxers.
Thanks, h and I just got back from breakfast at a diner. I even hit up the store on the way back. Time to clean then shopping. I'm excited about starting the weekend already with a clean house!

flippinchica, I've have/had this problem with both kids. Since DS1 was such an enthusiast nurser, I figured it was because he wanted the extra snuggles. I would nurse when we got home then babywear as much as I could until dinner.
With both kids, I would lock them into the chair with the belt. They would fuss but eventually settle down and eat.
joi922 M has been sleeping with a pillow for a few months now. He's back and forth on actually staying on it, but it's hawked when he's coughing. But yeah, they're getting so big!
