FFFC: I have no idea when her last bath was. It's been at least a week. Maybe two.
My daughter's hair is starting to get greasy, I'm washing it today lol.
When she was littler we had a pretty good Wednesday/Saturday bath schedule, then around 7 months or so she started having a lot of big poops and we would bathe her whenever and lost the schedule and it all went downhill. Lol. And now that she doesn't dribble milk and doesn't have that sour milk smell, if she doesn't have a big poop or start smelling it just slips my mind. I should probably care more.
If your baby doesn't sleep in a pack n play do people actually use them? Ours has been sitting in our family room since day one. I thought I'd use it for naps but really it's just a storage bin for burp cloths, diapers, etc. I'm tempted to put it away or take it to my moms or something. I thought I'd use the diaper changer on it all the time but really it's too low and hurts my back. Diapers get changed on the couch or the floor mostly.
I don't have one and have no idea what I would have ever used one for.
The only way my kid will sleep right now is if a sitting up human holds him.
Oh man. I remember those days. R was like this for the longest time. I couldn't even sit with my back against the couch. Hugs, lady. You have my sympathies. I hope it passes quickly.
I have the worst cold and am sooooo congested. Ugh. I considered staying home from work today but I ended up just taking a ton of cold medicine and toughing it out.
ceejay, yeah I'm really looking forward to bringing it outside! And I hope you feel better! I've been sick for the last couple of weeks and we have a horrible PTO policy at my work so I'm just toughing it out, too. I just laid down for an hour and feel like I just need to crawl back into bed for the rest of the day...

I have a half hour before our first visitor of the day. I really wanted to wash her hair but maybe I'll wait for my MiL in an hour and a half and have her help me.
My mom texted me that her friend who has some psychic abilities said that my Dad has seen M and that he has stood over her and sat in the rocking chair. I pretty much broke down and sobbed for the last half hour.
Ugh. I've given up on any semblance of a schedule today. Lunch is usually in 15 minutes, bit she's still asleep because she didn't go down for her nap until just before she usually wakes up. Boo.
Weight only down 5 percent and low risk for jaundice at 72 hours! Did a weighted feed and he got over half an ounce even though he'd eaten just 45 minutes before.
15 minutes and I get to leave work and go get my baby - Fridays have a whole new meaning since I'm back from maternity leave! Also, she's been so crazy snuggly after I feed her, I cannot wait to hold her close and listen to her make her little screeches
A lot of people in my office (including my boss) took today off of work, so it's pretty empty and quiet in here. I think that means I can sneak out a little early today...

Like PPs, we use it as a playpen and also as a crib when traveling. Although the other night my LO did sleep in it. It was 4 a.m. and I set her down in there because I was so fed up with her wakefulness that I had to walk away. She cried for like 5 seconds then fell asleep. I was not expecting that lol

teraiin, I'm sorry you're having a crappy day. Hugs! I hope it gets better. ceejay, that sucks that you're sick! I hope you do get to leave early and rest up a bit.
Sorry to be kind of a PW; I just discovered this board! And am just now catching up.
Re: baby baths; D gets one every night as part of her bedtime routine. But we only use soap like, once a week or maybe twice. The other nights we just set her in the water and let her smile and splash around a bit. Unless they spit up a ton or have a blowout, babies don't really get all that dirty in the course of the day IMO.

@led I wish I had some mom friends to hang out with. I have like zero interest in hanging out with my usual friends because I can't drink or stay up late anymore. How does one make mom friends?

Story time at the library? Local fb groups? Chance encounters at the park? I have no idea. I don't have any mom friends. Not local, anyways.

My hospital runs a group for new moms that meets once a week for an hour and a half. It's for anyone who has a non-crawling baby or babies. I went to it when I had DS and met some awesome women; 8 of us still get together once a week to hang out and now that the kids are two they play together and it's so awesome. I also went to it recently with D and met even more friends. Idk if you have anything like that near you, but I highly recommend it.
Also, I have 3 mom friends that I made when DS was in daycare. We'd chat during drop offs and pick ups, and all the kids went to each other's birthday parties, etc. I know the girls are still new but do you know if you're going to have them in DC at some point?
Finally, my town has a family network that I joined and they run events throughout the year for all different ages of kids, so that's another way to meet people.

We didn't use the pnp until they were in the crib, so like 6 months? We use it when we travel to our parents, hotels, etc. it's not helpful for the newborn stage but now we use it a lot.
