We're really struggling with sleep right now. I don't know if E has colic or if she's just a bad sleeper. She spends most of the night screaming. The only thing that makes her stop is her pacifier that falls out of her mouth every 5 seconds. I'm miserable. And if one more person tells me to sleep during the day when they nap I'm going to scream. I have twins, I can't rely on them napping at the same time. They each always skip one nap, which would be fine but it's never the same one so there's pretty much always one baby awake.
Tonight I'm so frustrated that I was in tears yelling at E to stop. Yeah cuz my not even 6 week old baby totally understands why I'm yelling at her. So now I'm having major mom guilt. I understand how people get to the point that they shake their babies. It's frustrating. I want to comfort her but nothing works except the damn pacifier. No amount of bouncing, shushing, white noise, rocking, etc does anything.
Ugh please tell me the sleep part gets better. Or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

mustloveerica, all the hugs. There was never any "sleeping when they sleep" in my household either. I had one who liked to sleep and one who liked to have their pacifier inserted every 20 minutes in the early days. And, I will admit I yelled at a baby once or twice too. And then I cried because I felt bad about it.
Colds have hit hard over here. I also thought tomorrow was picture day. We got to school to find out that it was today for their class. We ran back home for their clothes so we could at least have some nice professional pictures where they're wearing matching outfits.
So when we both woke up with food poisoning MOTN, I thought "at least MH can help me with the kids." Ugh. I just sent him to bed. The kids and I are watching cat videos. It's going to be a LONG day

Sorry about your food poisoning, schmella. That sounds terrible.
piccyami, that's great that they do picture day at your school! Even if you had to go back and get the clothes. A friend of mine got a groupon for JCP studio and her pics came out great. So I booked us an appointment at JCP for next weekend! If I get good pics for $30, I'll be happy!

Just curious....where are they sleeping?
Right now in RnPs in our room. Only because I think it's so much easier to pull them into bed at night to feed/change and then put them back. But last night we actually put them in their cribs at 8 and they both slept until 10:30 in there. So I may try to just start transitioning them?
Hugs, mustloveerica. Sleeping when they sleep was rare for us. Mine were only fans of the nuk ones that were all silicone.
Ours so far will only take the soothies (tried nuk and mam...both rejected). But the soothies are the worst shape for staying in their mouths. Wubanubs help but only get us a few more minutes.

Mine were in RnPs too. They laugh when I put them in their cribs...even now.
requiressnacks, It's awesome because our only other option is Target or finding an independent photographer. I think I know who we'll use for big milestone pictures, but it's nice to get some professional ones outside of that.

Did you try the all silicone nuk ones? W hated the nuk ones with the hard front and wanted only the all soft ones. They were close enough to the soothies that we transitioned pretty well. But nothing stayed in for long. They decided they were done by 3-ish months, so we didn't stick with it for long.

The tommee tippees are round like the soothies but more balloon like so it stayed in better ... mine wouldn't take nuk or mam or anything with that angled shape.

Yep those are the ones we tried. They seem to reject all of the flat nipple style pacis.

Do it! Mine transitioned a few weeks ago and it's been life changing. I don't jump at every little whimper and we all sleep better (and longer). They still like the RnPs during the day while we hang out in the living room
I hate paying taxes. Even with paying quarterlies, we still owed more. A lot more. And our accountant said that having 2 more dependents for 2017 won't help much. 🙁
mustloveerica the frustration is in our house too. I have one baby that is a crier which we are starting to think is colic. Yelling has happened here too. Have you tried jolly pop pacifiers?

MIL came to take the kids for a walk because they are BORED and W promptly threw up her entire lunch. I guess it's a virus. I kicked MIL out and told her to bathe in sanitizer
mustloveerica - we call ourselves the PRT (Paci Replacement Team). Ugh. They work - until they fall out 4 second later.
Both girls are trying to suck their thumbs. Didn't think that would happen so early!
H has been sucking her thumb since she was born. It's adorable but a habit I would rather she not have. Lol. But she's also my better sleeper and pretty good at soothing herself. So there's that.

@mistloveerica - big hugs! There is a big 6 week growth spurt that may be partly to blame for the crabbiness.
So...shopping today got my first face palm Twins moment. Cashier st Pier 1...oh twins! What are their names? G&O. Identical? Nope..boy and a girl. Oh no, they look identical. Yepp b/g twins = identical.

Everytime I've been out in public, I get the "well my cousin's brother's friend has twins." Umm... cool ?
Big hugs to everyone suffering with crying babies and paci woes. I wish I had some useful advice. Hang in there!!
mustloveerica, I was worried about the thumb-sucking habit, too, but for G at least, he only sucks his thumb when he's tired or falling asleep. The rest of the day, it's never in his mouth, so the skin has never been raw and the frequency doesn't make me worry about his teeth in the future. FX your thumb-sucker develops similar habits!
Yesterday was my birthday, and it was so gorgeous here! After picking up the kiddos, we took a nice long walk and then had their dinner picnic style on a blanket in the front yard to enjoy the weather. G was hilarious. He wanted to crawl off the blanket so badly, but would put his hand in the grass and cry. Then finally he'd get brave and book it toward the sidewalk. DH would bring him back to the blanket, and then the grass was scary again. It was too funny. We followed that up with baths and bedtime, and then DH grilled me steak with bleu cheese and asparagus for dinner! I enjoyed a couple of beers and watched some baseball. All in all, a success!
